Story
CJ has been with our family since February 2022, born on October 31, 2021. He enjoys naps, pets, walks, and can be a jogging companion. CJ would do well with older children who respect his boundaries. He is being re-homed due to an incident with our toddler, who doesn't yet understand CJ’s territorial nature around food and treats. CJ has nipped our toddler's hand once over a toy truck near his treat, but he has not had issues with our older kids, who respect his space. This is not the first occurence of CJ nipping our toddler regarding his boundaries. He is house/crate trained, enjoys watching wildlife, and is friendly with people on leash. CJ is fine in the car and can be left unsupervised at home for hours. He would be a great companion for someone who values boundaries and can provide consistent training. He loves ear and chest rubs and even slept with our older child regularly and safely. He has done fine with other female dogs in our home.

Story
Rocco Taco is a charming little dog with a big personality, despite his shy nature at first. At just 1 year old and weighing 39.5 lbs, he might be small in size, but his heart is full of love and potential. He came to us from another shelter, where he was known to be sweet, social, and a bit nervous—traits that make him all the more endearing. although he can be nervous and anxious he has done well with opening up given time. He just needs a little patience and he will warm right up to you! Do you think you could give this young man a chance? Swing by 6400 Kingston pike to meet him OR apply online to foster today!

Note from Foster: Max is a big love bug! He gets real attached quickly to you and definitely needs a dog brother or sister that can match his playfulness. He needs reassured when on a leash but would be best in a fenced yard to release his energy. Loves an abundance of toys to play with and natural healthy chews to keep him busy because if bored he will look for things to chew that he is not supposed to. And Max also LOVES water! A kiddie pool, bathtub or maybe taking him to a lake would make him very happy! Primary Color: Red Secondary Color: Ticked Weight: 59.3 Age: 1yrs 0mths 1wks

Story
We adopted Xiva from the Knox Vintage Pet Project as a pup. She is currently just under 1 years old. She is filled with energy and love, and has been a wonderful companion to my children (ages 7 and 3). She loves to get outside, play with the kids, play fetch, run, jump, etc. She currently knows a few commands including sit, lay down, and shake. She has not had an opportunity to play with other animals, but shows a lot of interest in playing with the neighborhood children. When other dogs are nearby and they bark, Xiva has a tendency to ignore the barking. Unfortunately, I am seeking to rehome Xiva due to a divorce. My ex is currently living in another house that cannot take dogs, and I currently work two jobs and cannot give Xiva the time and energy she rightfully deserves. She is highly trainable given the right conditions! Her energy and personality will surely be a welcomed addition to any home that can provide time, love and care.

Story
Wrangler is being fostered in PA. Wrangler has some limited vision. Wrangler is a sweet 4-month-old Husky/Catahoula Leopard Dog mix. His vision isn’t perfect, but he does have some sight. His eyes did not develop properly. But it doesn’t stop him from enjoying life to the fullest. He loves to play with other dogs and loves to cuddle with humans. He would do well in a home with other dogs to play with, and a fenced yard to run around in. Wrangler is a smart puppy and is learning commands quickly. He got a late start at potty training and learning commands but picking things up. He loves toys and nylabones to chew on. He also loves to chew on antlers and anything else hard. Wrangler does not like being left alone in a crate, so he has been sleeping with the other dogs and his foster Mom and doing well. He will sleep through the night with someone in bed. Wrangler will make a wonderful addition to a family and bring lots of laughs and joy and love. He is still growing so has plenty of time to learn so much and become a great dog for a loving family. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
