Story
Meet Kevin! This sweet guy is an oddball. Volunteers describe him as attentive, easygoing, friendly, gentle, goofy, and quiet. Kevin has been very good with children, big and small, here at Young-Williams. He is very calm and a sweetheart with everyone. He would make an excellent family dog. He does not pull on the leash and listens well. With other dogs, he prefers if they are calm and easy going like he is. Adopt Kevin today!

Story
ONYX This jaw dropping hunk is a Catahoula Leopard mix who is approximately one year of age and weighs 57 pounds. Onyx is a shockingly attractive, double take for on-lookers and when he is out for a walk, hike, jog or at the dog park everyone is going to want to talk to you! Onyx is very smart and this breed craves challenges and wants to learn. He walks well on a leash but is eager to learn some walking tips on how to heel, back up, shake, stay, etc. Onyx knows how to sit, loves his shelter roommates, people, and takes treats like the perfect gentleman. His coat speaks for itself and it amazing!! This breed is the state dog for Louisiana and is so unique. He has swirls of black, grey, white and loves a belly rub. Onyx is very sweet and wants to relax after a walk in this Tennessee summer heat. His photos don't do him justice so come in to the Campbell County Animal Shelter and meet this Adonis in person!

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  *Due to rescuer being very ill, all her dogs are in desperate need!!!   Huck is a large, eighty pounds, Catahoula hound mix. He has had a very hard life, after being abandoned time after time because of his high energy and work drive, he finally found himself with people that understood him. He is ready to give up the farm life for a home life. He has a high prey drive and loves to put it to use by working with his people on enrichment and basic commands. Huck is a star athlete and is the best fetch player we’ve ever met! His other favorite activities include swimming, clicker training, hikes and playing with his best furry pal, Tyson. Huck is dog selective but gets along with most easy going dogs and is great with kids.  He is a gentle giant that is motivated to please his people. We think a home with room to run and active family members would be best for him. Although, he doesn’t get along the greatest with horses or other large livestock animals, Huck loves to befriend all kinds of smaller critters! *Guest Posting If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you can't get it to work, tell us and we will email it to you.Adoption Fee $150ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. August 31, 2024, 11:10 pm

Story
Hes a just big sweetheart, hes never been aggressive a second in his life and loves attention and especially loves food. This was my ex boyfriends dog and he was abandoned with me after our breakup. I've done everything I can to care for him since. He's great with other dogs but he's only seen a cat 1 time before and the little kitty beat him up so I can't say for certain how he will be if he lives with one haha.
