Story
My son, am Iraq and Afghanistan vet, has severe PTSD. He adopted this dog 2 years ago. The dog is a very good dog. Great with cats, children, and other dogs. My son's PTSD has him in a rehab facility and I am watching his dog and cats temporarily. We discussed whether he wants to keep them, and he knows he cannot. He has not abused Athena in the least, he is very loving to her. She is very smart and knows most commands, and learns very quickly. I travel for a living (Tech support), and cannot keep her.

UPDATE!: 11/3 Ran Gulliver's Run at Pinchot and mom and I got 3rd place in her "Old" Age Group! She was glad I was there to help her along... Made a "Little Friend" that day and met many people. Boy, wish I could be out/about each weekend like this! Had a GREAT TIME meeting folks! 11/2/24 Went to Boiling Springs Children's Lake, boy, those birds are noisy. Got my feet wet, but didn't take the plunge! Maybe next time! UPDATE!: 10/27/24 Doing great here at Doggie Boot Camp! Had a shopping spree at Tractor Supply, and a girls day out with my BFF Fur buddy at PetSmart. NO ISSUES with Potty training but still crated at night. I enjoy taking treats side by side my fur buddies, going on walks and running the yard off leash. Would be great at a farm or open area to allow exercise but also be fine in smaller yard with exercise. All I really need is LOVE FROM YOU! I'm my foster mom's shadow, where she goes, I go. I will bond with you if given the chance as well. My fur is short but OH, so soft.  I'm ready and willing to be someone's BFF! Come meet me in person at Gulliver's Run 11/3/24 at Pinchot State Park run for doggie cancer. 10:00 am!  Hey everyone, I’m Violet, a 10 month approx. 70# Catahoula Leopard gal who is looking for a home. Had a nice couple come take a look at me, but I acted like a fool. Yep, it was a disaster. Just hadn’t had experiences meeting people, life situations or able to grow as a young pup should to be social. SOOOOOO, off to Doggie Boot Camp I went! Here now in my first week of Boot Camp I’m getting to learn the finer things in life. “Go for a Ride”, “Go for a Walk”, meeting new people, “house rules” (potty outside), “come” when called and hanging with a new pack. At first, I was very scared, but now feel like “It’s not so bad!” I can’t say wearing “Britches” inside in case of an accident is fun, but hey, mom gives me a treat when I put them on! I’ve walked solo with foster mom, then with a pack. The “TV” was a scary thing initially, but now It’s old stuff. Have tasted new things, peanut butter, animal crackers, popcorn, cheese, peanuts and even snuck some of foster mom’s wine! (She was not thrilled!) Heck, I’m even helping foster mom shampoo the area rugs! Did I say I love water? Well, I do! Check out videos on Molly's Facebook to see!  I’m proving to be a Velcro Gal, wanting to stay close to mom and check in. On 8 ½ acres to roam, I’m cool with waiting for foster mom. After a hard day of work, I’m ready to sack it in beside foster dad’s Lazy Boy chair. I have developed a habit of taking a few toys to my favorite spot. Foster dad counted “7” collected last night before bed. Speaking of foster dad, he’s a fun guy. He gets down to my level, lets me go nose to nose and even gives me kisses which I do return. Foster mom says I’m a “Soft Soul” waiting to live my best life. Although a BIG pup, I’m try to be gentle, I'm not crazy wild, but lovingly calm, have a “Soft Touch Mouth” and my “Beautiful Sky Blue eyes reflect my outer and inner beauty still working to come out! So, that’s my scoop. I’m Violet a beautiful young girl with a lifetime of love to give!   DOB: 12/11/23 Voilet is a purebred Catahoula Leopard who is  spayed   and ready for her forever home.  She is very friendly with people and other dogs.   To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org. "Get your motor runnin'! Head out on the highway! Looking for adventure and whatever comes our way!!!" That is one pawsome song right? My name is Wanda! I am 2 year old Catahoula mix :) looking for an ACTIVE family! They say I'm a very smart cookie, that sounds amazing!!! Who doesn't like cookies?! I know sit, fetch and learning to drop it. I have doggie friends and I've met the kitties and they are ok too! I am still a little nervous with new people and sometimes like to bork at them so they know I'm there. Foster mom is teaching me so many cool things all the time. I am crate trained and I LOOOVE belly rubs! I would do great with an active family that likes to go on hikes, adventures and give me lots of chewy toys and stimulate my growing mind! If you like to have a good time like me, have your people get with my people and let's get this pawty started!!! Local (Texas) adoption fee is $200 Out of state (Transport) adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Introducing Hondo, the loyal and brave companion you've been waiting for! Hondo is a true good boy, showcasing his friendly nature with both people and fellow furry friends. He strikes the perfect balance between confident and respectful, making him a wonderful addition to any household dynamic. While Hondo may be a bit head shy when it comes to leashes, it's a trait rooted in his past experiences - his ears once caused him discomfort. But with patience and understanding, he's slowly overcoming this challenge. This resilience highlights his adaptable nature and willingness to grow. Crate training is a breeze for Hondo, reflecting his cooperative spirit. He's well-versed in the art of sitting and enjoys eating a peaceful meal. These traits make him a joy to train and a promising companion for both new and experienced pet owners. Hondo's ideal home is one that's lively and active, as he thrives in an environment where he can stretch his legs and engage in the joyful act of running. With a strong recall foundation already in place, he's open to further fine-tuning this skill. This warrior-dog's name is music to his ears, and he responds to it with enthusiasm. Though his recall could use a bit more polish, his eagerness to learn shines through. Hondo's adaptable and resourceful nature, coupled with his receptive attitude, make him a loyal partner for all your adventures. If you're seeking a four-legged friend who embodies both resilience and companionship, look no further than Hondo. He's ready to stand by your side and show you the depths of his affectionate heart. Don't hesitate to welcome this valiant spirit into your home! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
