Story
We adopted Shiki through a shelter in philadelphia that had a litter as a puppy. At the time (and still to this day) we had another dog, Dino. Things were great for almost 4 years. Shiki has always been incredibly food motivated so we have kept them apart around food. he also has a very strong prey drive. Recently, we moved to a new home outside of Philadelphia here in Bushkill. The dogs love the new space, but there was an incident shortly after moving involving a bag of food left on the floor, which resulted in Shiki attacking Dino for coming near it. Dino needed reconstructive surgery for his ear and their relationship has been irrevocably changed. They are “crate and rotating” as per behavioralists’ advice, but neither has fulfilling lives now as they are crated half the day. We need someone who can dedicate the time and energy to love Shiki. He is so intelligent and trainable, but we can’t abandon our older dog to commit to him. Please reach out, Shiki needs you.

Ahoy there! SeaBiscuit here, looking to sail away to a good home! Landlubbers say I have gorgeous coloring and am rather unique looking (I would say aye to that.) I narrowly escaped being euthanized for space at an overcrowded shelter but a kind family saw my photo and decided to foster me. Talk about lucky!! Here are a few things to know about me. I am an energetic mate but settle down quickly. My fosters say I just melt into them and can’t get enough cuddling and snuggling. I am good with their teenage daughter and love her so much. I am friendly, playful, fun, know sit, give kisses, affectionate. I am house trained and crate trained. I know sit, lay down commands and I am working on touch, focus, turn, and stay commands. What else do you need to know? I have enjoyed the company of other dogs at the shelter and am trying to make friends with the dog in my foster home, except he’s taking his time to get to know me.   We would like to introduce a very special rescue dog to all of you and her name is Pretty Pearl.  Her foster mom says that she has been through fire and back and now she has the character of beautiful PEARL, like in an oyster.  She has  been formed by adversity and yet her spirit is pure sweetness and love.  She has the markings and coloring of a Catahoula mixed with maybe a little Beagle which is what makes her all the more loving and easy going.  At about 5-6 years old and just a perfect medium size at just 40 pounds, she is the perfect companion to someone who lives in a smaller environment like an apartment or a townhouse. She truly has an endearing calmness and mellow approach to life and all the people around her notices this unique quality immediately.  Nothing ruffles her feathers at all.  I take it all in stride and just smooth the edges if needed and keep on going.  This girl is the perfect companion to someone that is in an apartment environment or a townhouse.  She is small, a couch potatoe that will most certainly be an outstanding companion during the winter months when life seems to slow down and cozy companionship is most desired and welcomed.  She was found living outside in horrible conditions and was full of ticks and fleas and very skinny.  Well soon she was introduced to the luxury of an inside lifestyle at her foster home and she has NEVER looked back.  She goes outside to do her potty breaks and rushes right back inside to keep her human fosters company.  Now, if you are outside with her then all is grand.  She is a skilled girl on a leash and if you want a hiking or walking buddy then Pearl is ready to go!   She has had NO accidents in the house since coming to the foster home.  Amazing statistics for a dog that lived outside all her life.  Maybe she truly just feels like being called “Queen” Pearl now.  She sure is being treated like a queen and she wants to stay in that kind of lifestyle.  We think Pretty Pearl will be a wonderful well-kept secret for someone looking for the best companion ever in the world. Pretty Pearl will be the best dog you have ever owned in your life.
