Story
Rilee is a Catahoula Leopard Dog, 3 years old and about 50 lbs. Rilee is up to date on all of her vaccines, is spayed and microchipped. Rilee is house and crate trained and she does great on car rides. She is high energy with lots of love to give. She is very protective. She loves her humans as well as their children. She tends to do best with male dogs than female dogs. Rilee loves to be close to her humans at all times especially at night. She likes to explore the outdoors but has a natural instinct to hunt and find new smells. A fenced in yard would best suit her. She enjoys walks but is still learning to walk with her owner rather than pulling. She is responsive to her name, food/treat driven and loves bones of all types. Rilee is being fostered in Marshall, MI but is willing to make the trip to PA for an approved adopter. Please submit an application via our website at anassafehavenrescue.org for consideration.

Story
Hey there, I'm Cavern! Yep, that's me with the big ol' goofy grin and one blue eye that likes to keep you guessing! I'm 8.5 months young, full of love, and ready to find my forever home. I came here with my brother after we were found wandering around as strays. He got adopted pretty quickly, but I'm still waiting for my turn. I'm a Catahoula mix (at least that's the guess!), and if you ask me, I've got a whole lotta charm. Did you notice my cool mismatched eyes? It's like having two different windows to my fun-loving soul! Now, I might look all energetic in my pics (and trust me, I do enjoy a good romp), but don't let that fool you-I'm a total couch potato at heart. If there's a comfy spot to curl up, you better believe I'll find it! I'm also pretty great with other dogs. I was even kenneled with another pup at the shelter, and we got along just fine. So if you've got a dog friend for me to hang out with, I'm all in! One thing I'm really good at? Making people laugh! Apparently, I have a hilarious habit of smooshing my nose against the door and showing off my underbite. I didn't know I was a comedian, but I'm happy to keep you entertained! So, what do you say? Ready to meet your new snuggle buddy? Let's go on adventures together or just chill on the couch-I'm cool with either as long as I'm with you! Cavern's adoption fee is $275. **WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. I'm Spazz! I'm about 7 months old and I weigh about 30 lbs. I was surrendered to the pound and I am now looking for a loving new family to join. I am a very sweet boy, but I am very energetic and I would would do best with an active family that will provide me with structure and training. I will also need work with potty training as my former owners were having trouble with getting me potty trained. I have been fine around the other dogs here at the pound for the most part, but I am very rambunctious and the other dogs are not always appreciative of it. If you're looking for a sweet pup to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Story
Throwing your arms around Nero’s neck is like hugging a cloud! Nero, a Charmin soft, 7-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog who weighs in the 60 lb. range is neutered, up to date on his shots, and housebroken. Nero was initially surrendered to the shelter when his family moved to Texas. Aside from his plush coat and sea blue eyes, this strikingly handsome fellow is unique among shelter dogs because Nero is deaf. Nero can startle easily if you surprise him from behind (understandable because he can’t hear you coming), so Nero is looking for a quiet, calm home without children or cats. Living since birth in a world of silence, Nero has learned to “read” faces and body language. This smart, sensitive dude would be a whiz at training with a vibrating or “paging” collar. One look into Nero’s eyes is all it takes to see the gentle wisdom of this precious soul. In the animal rescue world, we know there are adopters reading this description who have experienced firsthand the joy of loving a special needs animal. Perhaps you just discovered Nero on our website and now can’t stop thinking about him. Let us nudge you gently. Please reach out to us. Meanwhile, even though he has every reason to feel down and out as a homeless dog, Nero “rocks” in his exuberance for life, frolicking in the big back yard, smiling big and sniffing enthusiastically when he walks on leash, greeting visitors at his kennel gate, and curling up with a sigh on his dog cot at the end of the day. If you’re wondering how you can play a lead role in the “happily ever after” ending to Nero’s story, please contact Tri-County Animal Rescue Center on Facebook, or call 814-918-2032, or email: contactus@Tricounty-arc.org
