Story
Sadie is an extremely loving 50lb catahoula/Pit mix female who was born on October 7, 2021. What a beauty she is and one with great manners.  She is fully potty trained and crate trained, spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Sadie comes from a neglect situation and is eager to make up for all the cuddles and play time she didn’t receive growing up in her former home. She has an extremely resilient personality and an eager to please temperament. She sincerely craves human interaction and will follow you around the house to be a part of everything you’re doing. When hugged, she likes to hug back by tucking her head around you and pressing in. She cooperates very well for bath time and settles well on car rides. Sadie behaves nicely in public spaces and happily accepts belly rubs from strangers. She has very limited experience around children but is happy to meet everyone she comes across. She is not recommended to homes with very young children simply for the concern of potential knocking them down. She has learned to sit when she wants to be pet, but may occasionally jump up if overly excited. Sadie must go to a home without other pets due to resource guarding around dogs (this does not apply to humans, she is submissive toward humans) and prey drive toward cats.  Her energy level is medium-high. She loves playing fetch to burn off energy, and would probably run for hours if given the opportunity, but she can also settle calmly on those days when it’s stormy or you’re too busy for intensive exercise. She likes to entertain herself with her toys, and is particularly fond of carrying the stuffed toys around to show them off. She needs someone who can deeply connect with her on an emotional level, and would be well suited to the role of emotional support animal (please note: due to resource guarding she is not suitable for the role of service dog, which is different from emotional support animal).    If you want to give this girl a great home to thrive within, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue  at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 24, 2024, 10:06 pm

Story
*SPECIAL NEEDS - PLEASE READ FULL BIO* Celyn! Celyn joined us on December 30, 2023, and we were thrilled to ring in the new year with her. We hoped her stay would be short, but sadly, this sweet girl has been waiting almost 9 months for her forever home. Celyn is a unique and special pup—she’s deaf and partially blind, which sadly causes her to be overlooked time and time again. 💔 ✨ Age: 1 year old 🤫 Weight: About 45 lbs—truly the perfect size! 🐶 Breed: Catahoula Mix (or as we like to call her, a Spotted Secret Keeper) 👃 Special Abilities: SUPER Scenter! Celyn can sniff out anything—her favorite volunteers, a meal, or treats on the way. She may not hear with her ears, but she hears with her heart. ❤️ 🏃‍♀️ Dreams: Celyn wants to run track in the 2028 Paralympics! We haven’t told her yet that the Olympics are only for humans. 🤫 ⚡ Activity Level: Pretty high—she loves to run in the play yard and zoom around with her doggy friends. 🧸 Toys: BIG fan! She’s happy tossing toys to herself or playing with friends. 🍖 Treats: Treats are life! 🥾 Love hiking? So does Celyn! Her disabilities don’t slow her down—she enjoys long hikes with her active volunteer buddies. 💬 Need a secret keeper? Celyn’s your girl. She can’t hear your secrets, so she’ll never spill them! 🐱 Cats? She hasn’t been tested, but we’re happy to try if someone applies for her! 🐕 Dogs? Celyn is a social butterfly and loves her dog pals. 👧 Kids? She does amazing at events and loves meeting kids of all ages! She might get a little in your bubble while sniffing everyone out, though. 🏡 Ideal Family? Active, patient, and excited to train a special-needs dog. Even though Celyn is focused on her Olympic dreams, she will need her family to also be willing to train her as well. Deaf dogs are amazing creatures and are easily trained, often with things like hand signals and other training techniques. Obviously even more care than usual should be taken to make sure she does not accidentally get out off leash as she cannot hear you calling her back and can't hear dangers like cars coming. She may also be partially visually impaired. She does so well, it is really hard to tell! For the boring stuff: Celyn is crate trained and has been working hard on her housebreaking. She prefers going potty off-leash and would benefit from having a yard where she can roam and find some privacy for her bathroom breaks. 🚽 We all need a little alone time, right? She’s been sniffing for her forever family for far too long. This sweet girl is ready to find her home and start her journey to the 2028 Olympics in LA. 😉 Celyn's adoption fee includes her spay, age appropriate vaccinations and microchipping. She is up to date on deworming and preventatives. Interested in Celyn? Trip is a good boy very loving affectionate. He's still a puppy. I am blending my family and Trip doesn't get a long with Mars. I don't think that is trips fault. I am only allowed 1 dog and the other dog has been with his family 5 years. I wish that wasn't case I don't want money. I want him to go to a good home with a patient family whos going to love him. I am not requiring you to fix him within 30 days. Six1zero 7six3 9sixsix9

Story
Meet BAM! Bam is now 2 years, 2 months old and 62 lbs. He was abandoned in McKenzie, TN at a rental property. HOW HORRID! He had much higher energy back in Feb 2023. But with an AMAZING, dedicated foster Mom...Bam has established a regular exercise routine and he has nicely smoothed out his energy now. Bam's 'thing' is his georgeous blue eyes. They look like jewels glistening at ya! I did the breed app check. And if shows mostly American Fox Hound with mix of Louisianna Catahoula Leopard. I'm going with it as his breed has had us puzzled. Bam is great with all the dogs in his foster home...of both genders, all ages, and various breeds. He is good on leash, rides well, crates & house trained. Story
If you are looking for a cuddle buddy, Atlas is the guy for you. His unique looks and amazingly sweet and inquisitive personality are products of his rich breed mixture. Atlas (also known as "Mr. Steal Your Heart and Pillow") enjoys long walks, short car rides, exploring, cooling off in creeks, lounging around the house, playing tug, unstuffing plush toys, wrestling and playing the bitey face game with his doggy sibling, cuddling in bed, and anything else that allows him to spend time with his family. At almost 3 years old, he has outgrown most undesirable puppy behaviors, but is still an active boy who requires adequate exercise. He does well with children and other dogs. He has done well with cats! He likes to lead walks and can be overly eager to meet new dog friends, so some training in those areas is recommended. He also gets overwhelmed in busy settings and sometimes experiences stranger danger so it is advised to avoid crowded settings unless addressed by a trainer. He is overnight crate trained, but he becomes anxious when left in the crate for extended periods of time during the day so his ideal home would have a pet parent who is home for the greater part of the day. Atlas is learning how to pull carts. He is a very smart dog and seeks to please his owners. Atlas is house/potty trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. If you would like to meet this handsome guy and make him part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/
