We adopted Shiki through a shelter in philadelphia that had a litter as a puppy. At the time (and still to this day) we had another dog, Dino. Things were great for almost 4 years. Shiki has always been incredibly food motivated so we have kept them apart around food. he also has a very strong prey drive. Recently, we moved to a new home outside of Philadelphia here in Bushkill. The dogs love the new space, but there was an incident shortly after moving involving a bag of food left on the floor, which resulted in Shiki attacking Dino for coming near it. Dino needed reconstructive surgery for his ear and their relationship has been irrevocably changed. They are “crate and rotating” as per behavioralists’ advice, but neither has fulfilling lives now as they are crated half the day. We need someone who can dedicate the time and energy to love Shiki. He is so intelligent and trainable, but we can’t abandon our older dog to commit to him. Please reach out, Shiki needs you.

Ahoy there me mateys. Sea Biscuit (aka Steve) is looking for a new first mate. He’s been shipwrecked for a while and would love to sail on to his final port (a good home.) Sea Biscuit has more than a little in common with a certain Captain Jack Sparrow. Both are devilishly handsome, both a bit impish and both have hearts of gold. Sea Biscuit is an energetic 3yr old weighing about 60 lbs. He’s currently living in a home with several dogs and gets along best with dogs that match his energy (medium-high) because he is very playful. His foster home has cats as well and they may find him a little annoying because he wants to play with them all the time and they just tolerate his silliness. SeaBiscuit enjoys car rides, sleeping in his person’s bed and is a health nut known to enjoy cucumbers and carrots as a snack. His foster describes him as a bouncy kangaroo who’s cuddly, energetic and would do well in an active home that provides him with lots of exercise (any runners out there?) and structure. SeaBiscuit needs to sail away to a new foster or preferably an adopter and comes with an offer of a training package so he can leave his pirate ways behind. Sadie is an extremely loving 50lb catahoula/Pit mix female who was born on October 7, 2021. What a beauty she is and one with great manners. She is fully potty trained and crate trained, spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Sadie comes from a neglect situation and is eager to make up for all the cuddles and play time she didn’t receive growing up in her former home. She has an extremely resilient personality and an eager to please temperament. She sincerely craves human interaction and will follow you around the house to be a part of everything you’re doing. When hugged, she likes to hug back by tucking her head around you and pressing in. She cooperates very well for bath time and settles well on car rides. Sadie behaves nicely in public spaces and happily accepts belly rubs from strangers. She has very limited experience around children but is happy to meet everyone she comes across. She is not recommended to homes with very young children simply for the concern of potential knocking them down. She has learned to sit when she wants to be pet, but may occasionally jump up if overly excited. Sadie must go to a home without other pets due to resource guarding around dogs (this does not apply to humans, she is submissive toward humans) and prey drive toward cats. Her energy level is medium-high. She loves playing fetch to burn off energy, and would probably run for hours if given the opportunity, but she can also settle calmly on those days when it’s stormy or you’re too busy for intensive exercise. She likes to entertain herself with her toys, and is particularly fond of carrying the stuffed toys around to show them off. She needs someone who can deeply connect with her on an emotional level, and would be well suited to the role of emotional support animal (please note: due to resource guarding she is not suitable for the role of service dog, which is different from emotional support animal). Meet BAM! Bam is now 2 years, 2 months old and 62 lbs. He was abandoned in McKenzie, TN at a rental property. HOW HORRID! He had much higher energy back in Feb 2023. But with an AMAZING, dedicated foster Mom...Bam has established a regular exercise routine and he has nicely smoothed out his energy now. Bam's 'thing' is his georgeous blue eyes. They look like jewels glistening at ya! I did the breed app check. And if shows mostly American Fox Hound with mix of Louisianna Catahoula Leopard. I'm going with it as his breed has had us puzzled. Bam is great with all the dogs in his foster home...of both genders, all ages, and various breeds. He is good on leash, rides well, crates & house trained. If you are looking for a cuddle buddy, Atlas is the guy for you. His unique looks and amazingly sweet and inquisitive personality are products of his rich breed mixture. Atlas (also known as "Mr. Steal Your Heart and Pillow") enjoys long walks, short car rides, exploring, cooling off in creeks, lounging around the house, playing tug, unstuffing plush toys, wrestling and playing the bitey face game with his doggy sibling, cuddling in bed, and anything else that allows him to spend time with his family. At almost 3 years old, he has outgrown most undesirable puppy behaviors, but is still an active boy who requires adequate exercise. He does well with children and other dogs. He has done well with cats! He likes to lead walks and can be overly eager to meet new dog friends, so some training in those areas is recommended. He also gets overwhelmed in busy settings and sometimes experiences stranger danger so it is advised to avoid crowded settings unless addressed by a trainer. He is overnight crate trained, but he becomes anxious when left in the crate for extended periods of time during the day so his ideal home would have a pet parent who is home for the greater part of the day. Atlas is learning how to pull carts. He is a very smart dog and seeks to please his owners. Atlas is house/potty trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives.
