Story
This handsome young man is named Parker Sparkles, he has the sweetest soul and he’s looking for love! Parker is a complete sweetheart, ready to adore, and be adored by you. We think he would make an excellent companion dog for just about any fun-loving household, he would love to be your very own adventure dog! Parker would adore doggy parents with adventurous hearts, that will take him camping, hiking or just to the park! As long as couch snuggles are guaranteed after the fact. He has an adventurous heart with a soft and gentle snuggly side to match. He’s the best of both worlds.

We believe that Parker is a Catahoula, Labrador mix, however he is a rescue, so his exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. Parker Sparkles is lovingly bestowed with such a fun name on account of his partial iris heterochromia in both eyes- he has brown eyes with these adorable, cartoonish blue highlights. We estimate his age to be around 1 year old, and he currently weighs in at 56 pounds.
Parker has a huge, warm heart, and being a rescue dog, he’s learned to guard it. He can be a bit shy at first, but he warms up with soft voices, gentle pets and quality time. This is true for Parker with humans and dogs alike. Once he has warmed up to you, you’ll find that you have the most loyalist best friend until then end of time. He’s a gorgeous boy with so much love to give, his foster mom describes him as “affectionate, but not needy.” One of the things that she loves about Parker is the fact that he is not the type of dog that constantly needs her or needs his person. He definitely likes to be in the same room with his person and people in general but he’s not needy or begging for affection. Every day, she’s greeted by excited little hops when she comes home. He’s a snuggler, and a total lap dog. Parker is a lover and knows how to not over do it. If you’re someone who works from home, if you’re someone who is retired and likes to garden, do projects around the house/property and you’re looking for a companion to have with you; Parker is your dog! He will quietly follow you around, keeping you company and does he best about not getting in the way. He simply likes to be in your presence. Parker is also a frequent visitor at his foster mom’s work office. He is not desruptive to other employees that work there. He is quiet and is not the nosey type. At the office you’ll typically find him either under your desk taking a nap or he’ll be taking a nap on his dog bed or chewing on a chew bone. He is also a little bit of an introverted gentleman in the sense that he’ll sit back and watch while you either talk with another employee or a customer and only engaging when it’s appropriate. Which is perfect for him and just the way he likes it since he can be a little slow to warm up with new people.
Parker is dog friendly and is currently fostered in a home with multiple other dogs some being large and others being puppies. He gets along fabulously with everyone now, it did take him a few days to decompress and feel comfortable around his larger foster siblings. With the puppies however, there were no issues and he initially felt comfortable around them. Once he opens up and feels comfortable, has a wonderful rough and rowdy play style with his canine companions, he’s always the life of the doggy party. If he is to be adopted out with another dog Parker would do best with a dog that is aloof and playful. One that will respect his space once he arrives, let him get his bearings, and also a pup that will engage with him. A dog that will encourage him to play without being too over the top about it and in his face. Parker would absolutely appreciate doggy siblings in his forever home! They simply know how to make other dogs feel better and more comfortable in a way that people never could. Which I think it pretty amazing how other dogs have the ability to essentially help rescue other dogs.
This sweet boy is a complete toy lover as well. His favorite toy is a canvas frisbee with rope around the edges. He adores squeaky toys and playing “surgeon” with them! If you don't know what we mean by that, it means he loves to de-stuff stuffies. Even his favorite ones. It can be quite a show to watch that will be guaranteed to make you laugh. He loves his nylabones too, and could chew on them for hours. He shares his toys well, and adores playing tug of war and fetch. His foster mom says one of her favorite things about Parker is the way he bounces, leaps, and springs in the air like a deer going after one of his toys that's been thrown across the yard. She says it's one of those things that he does that no matter what kind of day it was, playing fetch with him and seeing him jumping like a deer always put a smile on her face and instantly made her day 10x better. He also knows when play time is over and he’s not begging to play fetch some more. He leaves it be and goes inside to lay down to take a nap or chew on his chew bone.
Parker would love to find an adventurous family. He is an adventure dog at heart and loves exploring new places and new smells. We would actually love to see him go to a home that either has a large backyard with plenty of room to explore or even a home with some property. He travels with his foster parents out to their farm where there is fencing going around the property that simply outlines the property and he loves going off in the woods, exploring all the new smells. One thing with Parker that you’ll never have to worry about is he will never stray too far away from his people. He’s the type of dog where once he gets use to an area, he’ll go off and enjoy the outdoors, then will be right back at home where he belongs never straying too far or out in the woods for too long. I can see him joining his people for a hike out in the evergreen woods, prancing around like the deer that he portrays to be, enjoying the simple outdoors like it was something from a movie scene. Parker is easy to walk on a leash which will help make any adventure that much more enjoyable, even if it’s just a walk in the neighborhood. He also loads and unloads by himself, settles in the backseat, and likes to look out the window. His foster mom even said Parker knows the words “let’s load up” too. We’re not quite sure if Parker is a water dog yet, but we can say that he’s quite curious about his foster family’s pool! He likes to explore the edges of the pool, dipping his face under the surface from time to time. We won’t be surprised if he learns to love swimming!
Parker’s perfect home would have at least one loving human to adore, but he’s not too picky about the rest. He has been around kids of all ages and we believe he would do best with kids 6 and older that will understand and respect doggy boundaries. Parker could co-exist happily with doggy siblings, or he could thrive as a solo dog. He would love to have a spot on your couch, and something tells us that this boy would adore a place in your bed as well. Parker loves to run, and the sound of trucks and lawnmowers don’t faze him, so his foster mom suspects he would love the farm dog lifestyle! This handsome boy won’t be available long, submit an application to adopt today! We are willing to test this dog with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
