Story
Hi! I’m Fin, a one-year-old, big, friendly, goofy hound! I’m an outgoing pup who loves to run and play. I love meeting new dogs and people – anyone who’s up for a romp! I need a daily walk with a sniff adventure. In the home I need training, but I'm a smart dog and respond quickly to training. We’re working on Sit, Down, Touch, Wait, Leave it, and Heel. I'm a very focused learner and I take treats gently. I love going for walks, and I'm well behaved in the car -- I will make a great adventure buddy! I'm also already housetrained, too. I was just accepted into a board and train program in hopes of finding my adopter quickly or even assess my potential as a search-and-rescue dog. Apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp, and someone will get right back to you with the next steps.

Story
Sometimes things don’t work out as planned. Munchkin is back with Rescue Inc through no fault of his own. This resilient boy is ready for new beginnings with his forever family. ’ … “Heya I’m MUNCHKIN! I’m 6 months old of happy and weigh 60 lbs. My mom was 40 pounds and my dad is 60 pounds so I'm not sure how I got so big!  I am house trained and crate trained too. While I LOVE an invite to  sleep on the couch, I am comfortable in my crate as well. I enjoy being outside with my foster family. They take me on fun adventures to the woods and also around our neighborhood, I love saying hi to everyone along the way. Car rides are fun for me but I might need a booty boost to get in. When I’m hanging out at home I have fun with my toys, chasing balls in the yard, and carrying sticks everywhere. The world is better with lotsa sticks! When I met my foster parents for the first time, it was love at first sight! We instantly connected and I’m hoping to find someone to love me like they do. I have a human foster brother who I’m getting to know too. I get really happy when my human foster sister brings her doggo to visit! We have the best time together. As much as I love to walk and play, when all is quiet I enjoy a good snuggle on the couch with my foster Mom. She’s the bestest! A little bit more about me…I was one of 13 local puppies that Rescue Inc brought into their program after my birth mom tragically passed away when we were still nursing. We live BIG everyday in her memory. My littermates and I were loved and well cared for by some amazing foster moms we all grew to be big and strong. My littermates have all gone home and it’s my turn now, again!"  Should this pup receive an adoption commitment prior to your application being processed, we will share with you the other arriving pups that may be a match for you, some of which are not yet posted online. THIS PUP IS STILL AVAILABLE IF YOU ARE SEEING THIS LISTING––we pull listings down after receiving 2 - 3 viable applications to minimize adopter disappointment. Please do not email, simply submit an application link here www.rescueinc.dog/adopt and we do respond to every application within 48 hours.  Read through our adoption FAQs here www.rescueinc.dog/FAQs and our adoption process is here www.rescueinc.dog/the-process All of our pups come with the following:  spayed or neutered age appropriate vaccinations + dewormed + 4DX test (if older than 6 months) health certificates  dosed with flea and tick + heartworm preventatives new martingale collar (sometimes a harness) with 6' lead + temp ID tag 30-days free insurance to be activated within 24 hours of your wellness visit with your veterinarian microchip with free registration  sample of Canidae food that your pup is eating prior to pick up  WE ISOLATE OUR OWN PUPS in our state licensed facility, which means we have eyes on your puppy or dog for the MA mandated 48 hours. During this timeframe, your pups not only see our isolation vet twice but also receive additional rounds of dewormer along with pre + probiotics; transition to Canidae food; additional behavior assessments as they decompress; and so much love and thoughtfulness from our volunteers. Your pups are bathed at intake and again before pick up. All are paired in kennels with littermates or for those that travel alone, we have a rotation of volunteers to visit with them. We provide enrichment throughout the day and meditation music during nap time and through the overnight. We use these 48 hours to ready your pup to transition into a foster or adoptive home and do all that we can to reduce their stress while they are with us.  Ages listed can be approximate and breed mixes are a best guess based on physical characteristics.   Approved Massachusetts Rescue #0048 // Registered 501c3 EIN #84-3954548  ##2055370##

Story
Supporters and Recurring Giving Donors will be put on our VIP Application List &#226&#128&#139 Adoption Costs and other important information. Mandy is an incredibly sweet girl who has some special needs.  She is completely deaf and has some vision impairment.  She LOVES other dogs but tends to get aroused by cats and will chase them but doesn't seem to intend any harm.  She loves to be with her people and has some issues with being contained.  She will go over thru baby gates.  Mandy is a fast learner though and picks up stairs easily.  She needs to learn to be housetrained and doesn't seem to want to go while on a leash.  A high fenced in yard would be ideal for her.  She is playful and energetic.  She does great with all people.  She will need a patient owner who is looking for a rewarding project. If you are interested in adopting from Sterling Animal Shelter, please submit an application through our "Pets for Adoption" page.  We are currently open by appointment only Tuesday through Friday, and have Open Hours on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.  Our appointments are scheduled by matching our applications to our available pets. If your application is chosen, our staff will contact you to set an appointment for a meet and greet to spend some time with the animal one-on-one. We do still have same day adoptions, and if your meet is successful, you can take your pet home at the time of your appointment.  To find the best match for each pet, we prefer to have the entire family present when doing an adoption. If you have a dog at home already, please be prepared to bring your resident dog to meet a potential new dog, to ensure all parties get along. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet. Adoption Costs and other important information. Supporters and Recurring Giving Donors will be put on our VIP Application List &#226&#128&#139 November 4, 2024, 1:02 pm
