You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $250 plus taxMeet Bonnaroo! This handsome fella needs a strong, gentle pack leader who will not allow him to be in charge.  Yes he is a big boy and can be a bit overwhelming to some but when he knows you are the boss because you guide him to do the right thing, he is all yes ma’am, yes sir.  He will need continued training and yes, we have a trainer already set up to work with him.  We just need a adopter who is willing to put in the time for socialization and training.  He will thrive in an environment that has boundaries and expectations for him to follow. He is true to his people and although needs a minute to be ok with strangers, once he is comfortable, he is all snuggles and happy wiggles. He is housebroken and crate trained and walks well on a leash.  Right now he prefers to be the only dog in the home.  He can be around other dogs, but is a bit awkward and wants to show them he is the boss.  Yes, the trainer will help with that.   Look at that face…. Won’t you help Bonnaroo be all he can be??   If you have filled out an application please just email adoptionatmars@gmail.com   If you are a previous foster please email fosteratmars@gmail.com   Let's get this big guy home!!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Hello, it’s nice to meet you! My name is Alicia and I’m estimated to be a 1-year-old Catahoula leopard dog mix. I weigh 39 pounds. I have the same name as my foster mom so my foster parents call me Aurora. I was rescued from an overcrowded shelter and boy am I happy to be free! My foster parents say I’m just about the sweetest girl ever. I love meeting new people and giving them kisses. I’m gentle and affectionate. I haven’t met any kids in my foster home but I’m sure I’d love a human kiddo to play with! Sometimes I jump up to give hugs so you would need to watch me with littles, that way I don’t accidentally knock them over. I have met many dogs and loved them all! I currently live with a 60lb and a 70lb dog. I like to play for short bursts and can entertain myself if my furry friends aren’t feeling active. I’ve had a small amount of exposure to cats and did just fine with them. My foster parents are impressed with my training so far! I do great in the kennel during the day and at night, giving only a few small whines when I want out. If I'm in the kennel for longer periods, I might bark for a few minutes, so shared walls might not be best for me right now. My foster family will work with me on this! At night, I sometimes get to sleep on the bed, which I love because that means cuddles! I’ve had a few accidents in the house but I’m getting better as I settle into a routine. In a new home, my family should expect me to have some accidents at first. With the cold weather, my foster parents haven’t gotten to see me on leash much, but they think I’d do just fine on walks. In new environments, I’m not always sure what I’m allowed to chew on, so my foster parents keep an eye on me. If they see me chewing on something I shouldn’t be, they’ll redirect me to a toy. I’m figuring it out and getting better every day! If you give me a stuffed animal, I will happily chew on that instead. I really am a beautiful, kind, loving dog and I can’t wait to find my forever home! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 30, 2024, 6:40 pm

Story
Grace was surrendered to us due to her owner's health. A friend took her in, but discovered she doesn't do well with other dogs and is aggressive towards cats. She has unique features, and luckily her previous owner had a DNA test done! We would never have guessed, but her most dominant breeds are Catahoula leopard dog and pit bull. Grace is a very sweet girl who loves to play and can get very silly when she's in the right mood!  If you would like to meet me, please visit our website and complete the pre-adoption application.  Once it has been processed then we can make a date to get together! All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (if over 2 years old), vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treated, microchipped and more before adoption. Our adoption policies include: Application, Vet Reference, Landlord approval & Criminal Background Check. We do not do same day adoptions. We request that you call for an appointment after your application has been approved to come and visit the dog of your choice. If you have a dog currently, you should bring him/her along to meet the new dog so we can see how everyone interacts.  Please visit our website for additional information. The online application can be found at :https://hsburnettcty.org/adoption-application/January 8, 2025, 2:08 pm
