Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *This animal is a part of our “Seniors for Seniors” program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.* Thibodeaux is looking for a chill place to spend his golden years. He's a 99% relaxed dude who gets pretty excited and barky (he's loud) when there's unknown noises or doors open and close. But truly, he'd be happy with a warm, soft place to lay most of the day. He loves hugs and pets, and loves to give kisses and snuggle.   Thibodeaux, or Tib for short, is an owner surrender. Adopting a senior dog is like getting a vintage car – it comes with character, a few extra quirks, and might need a bit more maintenance. Expect occasional tune ups at the vet for oil changes (aka meds), and embrace the fact that those 'normal lumps and bumps' are just part of the well-earned charm package! Ruff Start will share all known health information with adopters and recommendations to keep your Senior dog in top shape. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate   to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 17, 2024, 11:04 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Bailee, a quiet and gentle soul who is slowly adjusting to her new life after her reservation transport journey. This sweet girl has a heart full of potential and is patiently waiting for a home that will give her the time and love she needs to fully bloom. You can see the affection she’s ready to share reflected in her soulful, round eyes.  She is a very chill dog who naps under my desk at work all day. Bailee loves observing the world from her favorite spot by the window and sleeps soundly through the night on her cozy cot, with no accidents. She’s a tidy pup, keeping her crate clean about 90% of the time—a huge accomplishment as she decompresses and adapts to her new surroundings. Bailee gets adorably wiggly with joy when you come home, though she’s still learning to trust and prefers to approach you at her own pace. Once she feels safe, she’ll sit close, soaking in gentle pets, before heading off to her cot for a peaceful nap. With her soft, multi-shaded brown coat and her love of treats and doggie ice cream, Bailee is truly one of a kind. Check out this sweet video of Bailee enjoying a treat!  She thrives in calm environments, so a home with kids over 10 would suit her best, as quick movements can still make her a bit nervous. She is good with dogs too as long as the dogs respect her cues and gives her space when she needs it. She would do best in a home with another confident, respectful dog in the home to help show her the ropes. She is great with cats-totally uninterested in them! As she continues to settle, her confidence and personality are sure to shine even brighter. Bailee’s quiet wiggle, sweet demeanor, and unique beauty make her a truly special companion. Are you ready to give her the patience and love she needs to flourish? Bailee is from a local reservation. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $250 plus taxMeet Bonnaroo! This handsome fella needs a strong, gentle pack leader who will not allow him to be in charge.  Yes he is a big boy and can be a bit overwhelming to some but when he knows you are the boss because you guide him to do the right thing, he is all yes ma’am, yes sir.  He will need continued training and yes, we have a trainer already set up to work with him.  We just need a adopter who is willing to put in the time for socialization and training.  He will thrive in an environment that has boundaries and expectations for him to follow. He is true to his people and although needs a minute to be ok with strangers, once he is comfortable, he is all snuggles and happy wiggles. He is housebroken and crate trained and walks well on a leash.  Right now he prefers to be the only dog in the home.  He can be around other dogs, but is a bit awkward and wants to show them he is the boss.  Yes, the trainer will help with that.   Look at that face…. Won’t you help Bonnaroo be all he can be??   If you have filled out an application please just email adoptionatmars@gmail.com   If you are a previous foster please email fosteratmars@gmail.com   Let's get this big guy home!!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Bleu is listed on our web site as a courtesy post for his current owner. He is not part of Rescued Tails Animal Sanctuary, but we are helping his owner find him a new home. Please contact Jeanne at jeannekvam@yahoo.com  or call her at  612-280-3859   to find out more about Bleu. The following is written by Bleau's owner: Bleu is approximately 3 years and 8 months of age. He is very good with young children and learns to leave cats alone. He is energetic and loves to do 360 degree flips. He has been to training, and he knows many commands: off, stay, sit, drop, wait, spin,  come and more. He also knows hand signals. He  uses a training collar that sends impulses not shocks. The trainer said he is probably part Catahoula Leopard with one blue and one brown eye. He is loving and stays out of trouble for the most part. If left alone for a while he kennels very well. He has a big heart and came from a very bad situation. I have had him for 3 years. The issue is that he does not get a long with my resident Blue Tick Coon Hound. Otherwise I would keep him. He would do best with room to run. When he has gotten out of my yard he has always come back if in ear shot and called. He loves car rides. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 6, 2024, 12:12 am

Story
Star was rescued in Louisiana. A lady that found her called me and said that she could not find a rescue group in Louisiana to take her. She had a gunshot wound through her jaw and ear. She was in pain. She brought her to me in Mississippi, and I got her the medical treatment that she needed. She had jaw surgery, and now her tongue permanently hangs out. We think this makes her uniquely special!! I know that her tongue hanging out may be a deterrent for a permanent home, but Star is such a sweet baby. She cannot help it that somebody shot her. She is a Catahoula hound, and her tail is docked. Star is a very sweet and loves to ride in the car. She loves dogs, and she loves children. She loves to roll over for a belly rub, and she knows the sit command. She is extremely smart. She loves to load up and ride in the car, and I believe that she was somebody’s baby at one time! Star has been in foster care and boarding for a while, and she wants a forever home! Also, if you live out of state, we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We alternate between the Northeast and the Midwest every other weekend. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee.
