Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. JohnnyStorm is a sweet and playful puppy who came to us as an owner surrender, and he's truly a little bundle of joy. He absolutely adores snuggles and has a quirky love for toys—any kind! Whether it’s a dog toy, a kid’s toy, or even shoes, he’ll happily grab whatever’s nearby. Matchbox cars seem to be a favorite, but Crocs are his go-to shoes, so we definitely have to keep those and the non-dog toys out of reach! He gets along well with everyone—adults, kids (my 5-year-olds adore him), and other dogs too. He has a bit of a playful rivalry with my cat; they love to “exchange words,” with JohnnyStorm barking and the cat hissing in return. Outdoors is where he really lights up, darting around to chase every scent he can find. With the cooler weather, though, he does shiver a bit. He’s still mastering leash walking, and while he’s learning not to walk in front of us (to avoid getting stepped on), it’s always an entertaining challenge! When it comes to mealtime, he used to be a bit of a grazer, nibbling on breakfast, lunch, or dinner and coming back for more throughout the day. But he's gotten better lately, polishing off about 1/2 to 3/4 of his meal in one sitting. Full of energy and a little sass, JohnnyStorm's daily zoomies are a joy to watch—especially when he’s around other dogs. We think he’s grown a bit since we first got him, and his fur is starting to change colors, so maybe that Catahoula side of him will shine through soon! JohnnyStorm is from Texas.   If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.* If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 2, 2024, 9:03 pm

Story
If you love big cheesy grins, then Jay is the man! Jay has the most toothy BIG smile that tells you that this boy is nothing but a big easy going and happy fellow. Jay was born at Let Love Live to mama Echo and was adopted out as a puppy. But, when he grew into a big, bouncy, older pup, the family no longer wanted him. In fact, they cared so little for him that somehow he got out of their fenced yard and they never tried finding him. A humane society in MN received him and contacted us to let us know they had him. When the owners were contacted, they said they did not want him back. :(. That's just fine with us because this sweet boy deserves so much more! If you are looking for your best bestie who will walk a 100 miles and a 1,000 more with you, look no further. If you are looking for that guy who will make you smile and laugh every single day, even when you're sad, Jay is the one. Walks great on leash, plays well with other dogs, cats and kiddos. Jay is ready for the greatest love of his life! Could that be you? Let Love Live rescues animals in Texas and many southern states. We have two locations, our shelter and sanctuary in rural Northeast Texas and our Minnesota foster-based program. If you are interested in meeting a pet, please fill out an adoption application. Story
Alayah is one of the lucky ones. She was one of 12 dogs/puppies that were dumped at an abandoned home near a busy highway. Some didn't make it when trying to cross the road, but Alayah did and was saved by one of our amazing fosters who took her time with her and Artemis. A little patience and a lot of love is what this sweet girl needed and now she is completely vetted and looking for her forever home. She is a great pup and will really continue blossoming with her forever family. Let Love Live believes in an easy, simple and low barrier adoption process. Gone are the days of home visits and reference checks. The questions we ask on our application are to help make sure we get the right pet into your home, not to exclude adopters.
