Story
Meet Sampson! He is happy, bouncy, and super wiggly. Sampson loves to play and is full of energy and would make a great companion for a hiker, runner, or just an admirer of the great outdoors. Lots of things make Sampson excited, so adopters should continue to train with him so he can learn how to settle and have quiet time. Kids in the home should be able to participate in training and unfazed by a bouncy pup and their goofy antics. If you think Sampson could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by MSPCA Northeast Animal Shelter. We have open adoption hours 11:30am-5pm daily - no appointment or application needed. Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat areas will remain open to walk through.

Story
Sadie is an extremely loving 50lb catahoula/Pit mix female who was born on October 7, 2021. What a beauty she is and one with great manners.  She is fully potty trained and crate trained, spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Sadie comes from a neglect situation and is eager to make up for all the cuddles and play time she didn’t receive growing up in her former home. She has an extremely resilient personality and an eager to please temperament. She sincerely craves human interaction and will follow you around the house to be a part of everything you’re doing. When hugged, she likes to hug back by tucking her head around you and pressing in. She cooperates very well for bath time and settles well on car rides. Sadie behaves nicely in public spaces and happily accepts belly rubs from strangers. She has very limited experience around children but is happy to meet everyone she comes across. She is not recommended to homes with very young children simply for the concern of potential knocking them down. She has learned to sit when she wants to be pet, but may occasionally jump up if overly excited. Sadie must go to a home without other pets due to resource guarding around dogs (this does not apply to humans, she is submissive toward humans) and prey drive toward cats.  Her energy level is medium-high. She loves playing fetch to burn off energy, and would probably run for hours if given the opportunity, but she can also settle calmly on those days when it’s stormy or you’re too busy for intensive exercise. She likes to entertain herself with her toys, and is particularly fond of carrying the stuffed toys around to show them off. She needs someone who can deeply connect with her on an emotional level, and would be well suited to the role of emotional support animal (please note: due to resource guarding she is not suitable for the role of service dog, which is different from emotional support animal).    If you want to give this girl a great home to thrive within, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue  at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 25, 2024, 1:14 pm

Meet Dakota, This poor gorgeous girl is going to be killed if a hero isnt found in time. She is scared and wondering where her people went. She didn’t deserve this. The trauma these poor babies go through when being dumped and abandoned and watch their people turn their back and walk away, they never forget that feeling of abandonment. This baby does not deserve to have her life taken when she’s done nothing wrong. PLEASE HURRY TEXT KAREN 4136298152

Story
Meet Miss Lindy. She is the mom of 9 puppies that were adopted out by PAWS New England last year. She is a people and large dog friendly girl who is finally ready to find HER furever home.A very pregnant Lindy was pulled from a TX high kil shelter (on her D-day) by a retired southern foster who agreed to foster until she delivered and her puppies were weaned. After being a great mama to her babies she was then spayed and treated for heartworm over the course of several months. She is now heartworm negative and is looking for a home to call her own. Lindy is fine with all her hoomans and very loving with her large canine siblings. She has not been exposed to smaller dogs. She seemed quite uninterested when cat tested (see video), but has never lived with cats. She might be a bit rambunctious for younger kids. Lindy would love a young, active home as she has plenty of energy to go on long walks or hikes, but she is not "hyper". After her exercise, she then enjoys snuggling…so awesome. She is housetrained with a doggie door. Leash training in in process, but this girl is very treat motivated, so training should be fairly easy.Lindy loads up in her foster mom's SUV with just a little boost; truly enjoys car riding and her outings. Let's find this sweet mama a great household where she will bring along her affectionate and fun personality!Name: LindyBreed: Catahoula Leopard Dog/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 2 years (estimated)Weight: 62.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testing (after treatment)Microchipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: SelectiveGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $500.00 (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently: Texarkana Tx IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England. Story
Meet our adorable litter of pups, born to a resilient stray named Kirby, who has a heartwarming story of her own. Kirby was discovered at a remote construction site deep in the woods, where she charmed her way into the hearts of a hardworking crew. One of the workers, who was experienced in rescuing dogs, reached out to PAWS NE to ensure Kirby and her soon-to-be-born puppies got the care they deserved.Kirby, a 40-pound medium-sized sweetheart who we believe to be a Mountain Cur mix, delivered her precious litter in the comfort and safety of her foster home. We suspect at least one of the pups’ dads might be a striking Catahoula! These pups are bundles of joy—healthy, happy, playful, and undeniably adorable. Though they haven’t met other dogs, cats, or children, their puppy nature makes them likely to adapt well to various family situations. They’re at the perfect age to start their journey with a loving family who can guide them through training and help them grow into well-mannered, cherished companions. They will be exposed to other dogs and more humans once they have their first vaccines at 6 weeks of age.Since they’re still nursing with Kirby, these little ones haven’t begun crate or house training yet. However, they’re eager to learn and explore the world around them! The ideal home will be with someone ready to invest in their training, ensuring a lifetime of joy and adventure with their new furry friend. Are you ready to add one of these precious pups to your family? They’re waiting to wiggle their way into your heart!Name: Kirby BabiesBreed: Catahoula Curs (Catahoula and Mtn Cur Mix) Age: Born 11/25/2024 Weight: Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforced.Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date. All vaccinations required after adoption are the responsibility of the adopter.Heartworm: Too young (testing is done at 6 months of age)Housetrained:  Not usuallyMicrochipped: YesLocation of dog currently:  Texarkana, Texas - until they are 10 weeks of age / two rounds of vaccinesPuppy Adoption Fee:  $550.00 (includes a spay/neuter surgery rebate to be paid to the adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England). We can provide adopters with a list of low-cost SN clinics when requested. The adoption fee also includes the transport fee.ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact.  PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue.
