Meet this handsome fella, Nash. He has unique markings with blue eyes. He's a confident fella and may need gentle introduction to strangers. Once the ice is broken he is all yours with his friendly eager attitude. He is an athletic type with good energy and can jump with excitement when he wants. He knows how to sit and shake hands. He is neutered and vaccinated. He is approaching 3 yrs old and his weight is around 55-60 lbs. He was inside kept with his previous owner and is housebroken. Young children are not recommended due to his eagerness and initial guard toward strangers. He is good with other dogs and a generally happy happy dog! He also loves to go on car rides. We are a rural shelter with high intakes. As a result, the shelter dogs are not guaranteed safety. We do our best but, we need help. ADOPTION FEES APPLY- Dogs $150 - $175 Cats $90 (We are not set up for credit or debit payments.) Applications are required and can be requested by emailing fopcpky@gmail.com or the foster contact listed if in foster care. They can also be downloaded from this website: www.fopcp.org Please visit or make an inquiry by calling this number 606-663-4998. Leave a message on voicemail if you miss the staff. Your calls are VERY IMPORTANT to us! The shelter is open Monday thru Friday from 9 - 3 p.m. except Thursdays (closed). Saturday hours are by appt. After hours appts can be arranged with advance notice and an approved application. We want to accommodate! For an alternate phone, call 859-948-0371. We are glad to answer any questions. Adoption rates include a spay or neuter, vaccines, & deworming. Surgeries are mandatory! Families with young children must have fenced yards to prevent the accidental escape of pets. She is a very sweet 2.5 years old hound mix. She is somewhat energetic and does not like living in small spaces. She really needs a yard to run around in and preferably trips to dog park and/or walks in the neighborhood. She can be very skittish in some situations and I think she was somewhat abused by her previous owner so she needs a somewhat gentle hand. She has the hound stubbornness and does not always follow commands. However, she is very loyal, has a happy and positive disposition, has a great personality, and is highly intelligent. She would make a great companion for the right owner. She can come with all of her stuff (toys, blanket, food, etc.) so you wouldn't have a lot of initial expenses.
