A move is how I lost my family. It’s been kind of scary finding myself here since I’ve pretty much been a very loved family member since I was a young dog. But I found out that people can sometimes be taught little tricks. For example, why just go for petting when you can roll on your back and get the wonderful people here give you a nice belly rub. This always makes me smile. I also enjoy treats, especially cheese…just saying, so you can have some waiting at your home.

If you are looking for a cuddle buddy, Atlas is the guy for you. His unique looks and amazingly sweet and inquisitive personality are products of his rich breed mixture. Atlas (also known as "Mr. Steal Your Heart and Pillow") enjoys long walks, short car rides, exploring, cooling off in creeks, lounging around the house, playing tug, unstuffing plush toys, wrestling and playing the bitey face game with his doggy sibling, cuddling in bed, and anything else that allows him to spend time with his family. At almost 3 years old, he has outgrown most undesirable puppy behaviors, but is still an active boy who requires adequate exercise. He does well with children and other dogs. He has done well with cats! He likes to lead walks and can be overly eager to meet new dog friends, so some training in those areas is recommended. He also gets overwhelmed in busy settings and sometimes experiences stranger danger so it is advised to avoid crowded settings unless addressed by a trainer. He is overnight crate trained, but he becomes anxious when left in the crate for extended periods of time during the day so his ideal home would have a pet parent who is home for the greater part of the day. Atlas is learning how to pull carts. He is a very smart dog and seeks to please his owners. Atlas is house/potty trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. Stewie has the most stunning blue eyes that can't help but stand out against his white fur. He loves to be close to people and wants to greet everyone with a doggy hug, and he'll happily continue to stand up on his hind legs while you scratch his neck and chest. Stewie gives lots of kisses and snuffles around your face and ears. When you sit down, he'll either hop up next to you or put his front paws in your lap as if to say "hey I'm right here, now love me!" He sometimes jumps up on you when he gets excited, but he settles down the longer he's out, so he'll probably be more mellow once he's comfortable in his forever home. Stewie is a known fence-jumper and escape artist, even if a person is in the yard with him, so he will need to be closely supervised or kept on a leash whenever he is outside if he goes to a home with a fenced-in yard. Stewie enjoys participating in playgroups and has made several doggy friends, so he could go to a home with or without another dog, but he would probably do best with a dog that has the same energy level as him. He has a beautiful merle coat and soft brown markings! Morris found himself in a tough situation in rural Texas when he and his littermates were found on the side of the road. He is excited to come to Wisconsin and have his very own family. He enjoys people of all ages and gets along well with other dogs. He is working on his potty training, however his new family should be prepared to do additional training while he learns the routine at his new home in WI as he is just a young puppy. He is up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and he comes with his medical records and interstate health certificate from a veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies him to be in good condition. His adoption fee is $500, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee. He is available for an exclusive hold with a deposit of $250, which we give on a first come, first served, basis. The balance of the adoption fee is due upon meeting/finalizing the adoption. Should he not be a good fit for your family upon meeting, the deposit is refundable.
