Story
Hey there, I`m Mellow! Life`s a game, and I`m just a pup trying to play. So, here`s a funny tale. I was at a dog park, chasing my tail. Round and round I went, faster and faster, till I got so dizzy I mistook a squirrel for my human and followed it! Next thing I knew, I was at this shelter. But hey, it`s not so bad. I`ve got a comfy bed, plenty of treats, and I`m always the star of playtime. I`m just missing that special someone to share it all with. I`m a bundle of love, ready to bring joy and laughter into your life. Will you be my forever playmate?

Story
Meet Lovely Maggie – The Stunning Blue Leopard Catahoula Mix! Maggie is a breathtaking 4-year-old blue leopard Catahoula mix with one solid blue eye and a striking blue chip in the other. This smart, affectionate, and loyal girl is the perfect companion for someone who loves the unique personality of the Catahoula breed. Maggie’s Journey Maggie’s history is mostly unknown. She was rescued from animal control in North Georgia and given a second chance at life. Currently, she’s staying with a wonderful woman who has three other dogs, but unfortunately, the dynamics in a small home have made it clear that Maggie needs a new home where she can truly thrive. It’s not Maggie’s fault, and we are so grateful she’s safe from the shelter. Now, we need to find her the loving forever family she deserves! Why You’ll Love Maggie Loyal & Affectionate: Maggie thrives on being close to her human. She loves snuggling, lounging on the couch, or napping nearby, making her the perfect cuddle buddy. Low-Key Couch Potato with a Fun Side: While Maggie is mostly laid-back, she also enjoys walks, hikes, and car rides—anything that allows her to spend quality time with her person. Meal Time Enthusiast: Maggie’s favorite part of the day is mealtime! Her excitement is unmatched, and she’ll eagerly await her food with adorable enthusiasm. Crate-Trained & Well-Behaved: Maggie is perfectly crate-trained and will happily run into her crate for a treat. Maggie’s Ideal Home Dog Dynamics: Maggie gets along wonderfully with male dogs but has had conflicts with dominant females. She might do well with a submissive female, but she would thrive as the only dog in the household, where she can soak up all the love and attention. No Cats: Due to her high prey drive, a cat-free home is essential. A Loving Human: Maggie craves attention and affection, making her ideal for someone who enjoys having a constant, loving companion. Health & Quick Facts Age: 4 years old Weight: 55 pounds (a perfect medium size) Health: Spayed Microchipped Heartworm-negative Up-to-date on all vaccinations Temperament: Sweet, affectionate, and eager to please How to Adopt Maggie If you’re looking for a smart, loyal, and loving companion, Maggie is the dog for you! Email (Preferred): awhar09@gmail.com Text: Janet at 404-520-1060 Website: www.awhar.org Maggie is ready to fill your life with love, loyalty, and plenty of snuggles. Could you be her forever family? Story
I’ve had Simba since he was a puppy however I no longer have the space for him or enough time to give him the attention he needs. He’s a very sweet dog but needs more attention and more exercise than I can give him. He is 7 years old, very energetic and playful but still loves to lay on feet and take a nap. Would like to get him into a home with a yard as he will need a lot of exercise. He grew up around children ages 4-10 so he’s pretty used to being around kids and I have never had an incident. He is a big dog and can get very excited, he also barks if he needs something or wants to sleep by you. He is the perfect dog for someone who is able to give him tons of attention and time!

Story
Ahoy there me mateys. Sea Biscuit (aka Steve) is looking for a new first mate. He’s been shipwrecked for a while and would love to sail on to his final port (a good home.)   Sea Biscuit has more than a little in common with a certain Captain Jack Sparrow. Both are devilishly handsome, both a bit impish and both have hearts of gold.   Sea Biscuit is an energetic 3yr old weighing about 60 lbs. He’s currently living in a home with several dogs and gets along best with dogs that match his energy (medium-high) because he is very playful. His foster home has cats as well and they may find him a little annoying because he wants to play with them all the time and they just tolerate his silliness.  SeaBiscuit enjoys car rides, sleeping in his person’s bed and is a health nut known to enjoy cucumbers and carrots as a snack.   His foster describes him as a bouncy kangaroo who’s cuddly, energetic and would do well in an active home that provides him with lots of exercise (any runners out there?) and structure.   SeaBiscuit needs to sail away to a new foster or preferably an adopter and comes with an offer of a training  package so he can leave his pirate ways behind.       Check out my YouTube Video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/cv12D8OLm5s https://youtu.be/k2iwT3VPRjw Age: 2.9 years Weight: 62 lbs Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, neutered and heartworm  negative and on prevention Temperament: Good with other dogs.  Good with older, respectful kids.   Training, House trained, crate trained, knows several commands  Email for questions: sonaligokhale@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. January 8, 2025, 9:20 am

Story
Beatrice just turned three, and we were curious to learn about her breed mix. Here’s what we discovered: 66% Treeing Walker Coonhound 10% Plott Hound 4% Redbone Coonhound 3% Bluetick Coonhound 2% American Foxhound You can check out more details about her breed mix here: Beatrice's Wisdom Panel . Now, let me tell you why Beatrice is so special. She is a sweet, loving, and smart girl who adores people and other dogs. Whenever she sees a new face—human or canine—her tail wags with excitement. She’s incredibly social and loves to make new friends. However, Beatrice does have a high prey drive, so a home without small animals, including cats and small dogs, would be best. Her enthusiasm for food also makes her a bit too rambunctious for homes with very young children, as she may accidentally knock them over in her excitement. At around 40 pounds, Beatrice is strong and agile. As a hound, her hunting instincts are sharp—especially when it comes to raccoons. She has even taken down a raccoon her size without a scratch! Beatrice’s story is one of resilience. This beautiful brindle girl was abandoned on a road in Arkansas while pregnant, and sadly, her litter didn’t survive. After fending for herself, she thought she’d found a home, only to be abandoned again. Thankfully, a local rescue stepped in, and Beatrice made her way to Atlanta, where she’s hoping to find her true forever family. What makes Beatrice truly special are her soulful eyes, her stunning coat, and her eagerness to please. She’s a social butterfly who loves other dogs, enjoys playtime, and has a deep desire to bond with a person she can call her own. She’s a cuddler, happy to snuggle up and relax next to you, but she’s also a true hound who would love to accompany you on outdoor adventures. If you’re a hunter, she’d be thrilled to join you—just be sure to keep a tracker on her because once she picks up a scent, she’s off! Because of her strong hunting instincts, a home with a fenced yard would be ideal to give her space to run while staying safe. Beatrice is 100% potty trained and is perfectly calm indoors as long as she gets her daily walk. A 30-minute walk is usually enough to keep her content and relaxed, but without that exercise, she might get a bit antsy. If you’re looking for a beautiful, loyal companion to share your life with—whether it’s watching TV on the couch or exploring the outdoors, Beatrice Beasley could be the perfect match. She’s a special girl, and I tell her that every day. My biggest hope is that she finds someone who will see just how special she is and give her the loving home she deserves. Could that someone be you?
