Story
Hi, I'm Ed. I've been at Second Chance for over 2 years now. I am a young, energetic, sweet boy. Did I say energetic? I love to go outside and play, or take walks. If you are looking for the adventurous type for hikes and outdoorsy fun, I'm your guy!  I'm a little dog and people selective, I do best with female dogs and will do best with a confident and experienced dog owner.  Also, no DNA tests have been done, so no one knows for sure what breed I am. I look like I might have Catahoula Leopard Dog in my mix and probably some bully. This means home ownership to adopt me is required! I have all had all of my shots, and am neutered. Also included in my adoption fee, is a registered microchip and a full set of medical records for you and my future vet! If you are interested in meeting me, please complete an adoption application. Upon pre-approval, someone will reach out to set up a time for a meet and greet. I'm looking forward to meeting you! If you're interested in adopting 2 dogs, my bestest friend, Georgie is also available for adoption at a significantly reduced fee if you take us both! Only applicants who meet the following current requirements will be considered: - Homeownership, no renters - Fenced yard not required, but preferred - Applicant must be 25 years of age or older ##1581433##

Story
Hi, I'm Georgie. I have been at the rescue for over 2 years. I'm not sure why I've been overlooked, but I am a great dog! I love to go outside and play, or take walks. I also love to play with other dogs. I especially like car rides and going places. I am also very well behaved in public. No DNA tests have been done, so no one knows for sure what breed I am. I look like I might have Catahoula Leopard Dog in my mix and probably some bully. This means home ownership to adopt me is required. I have all had all of my shots, and am neutered. Also included in my adoption fee, is a registered microchip and a full set of medical records for you and my future vet! I do have allergies that require daily medication and some extra trips to the vet each year when the allergies flare up. If you are interested in meeting me, please complete an adoption application. Upon pre-approval, someone will reach out to set up a time for a meet and greet. I'm looking forward to meeting you! If you're interested in adopting 2 dogs, my bestest friend, Ed is also available for adoption at a greatly reduced fee if you take us both! He's been here over 2 years also. Only applicants who meet the following current requirements will be considered: - Homeownership, no renters - Fenced yard not required, but preferre ##1775418##

Story
Volunteer Notes:I had the privilege of taking Blu (A554680), a stunning black and white dog, on a Doggie Day Out adventure. From the moment she warmed up to me in her time, which was remarkably just seconds, Blu showered me with affection, her kisses overflowing all day, making me feel deeply loved and valued. This sweet girl is yearning for stability in her life and finds solace in the comfort of people around her. Blu`s story is one of resilience, having been surrendered by her previous owner due to financial constraints. At just two years old, she was thrust into the challenging kennel environment, leaving her feeling uncertain and lost. As we spent the day together, I witnessed Blu`s confidence blossom. She walked elegantly on the leash, displaying sensitivity and curiosity towards various sounds, and found comfort in my encouraging words. While she stuck her nose in the toy box wanting a toy she just didn`t feel confident yet making me sad for this beautiful girl. Later, Blu`s fascination with squeaky toys began to motivate interest in play. In the backyard, she reveled in back rubs, staying close by my side, and even snuggled up beside me on the chaise lounge, basking in the warmth of the sun. As she explored the yard, her nose leading the way, Blu began to exude a sense of freedom and joy. Her bath time was a testament to her growing trust, and her thick fur felt luxuriously soft once more. Our final stop was Starbucks, where they always give me a big cup when I tell them I have a shelter pup out for day. Blu`s excellent manners earned her a well-deserved pup cup, which she lapped up with the best of manners. As I reflect on our time together, I am reminded that Blu needs time to adjust to a new home, but once she does, she will blossom into a loyal companion, showering her family with love and devotion, and perhaps even becoming a velcro dog, always by their side.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Adorable Alamosa made her way to PRBJ with her mom, Della, and her 4 sibling from an overcrowded shelter in Georgia.  This little family made the road trip in search of their forever homes. This lovely little lady is full of love and play.   She is good with both children and dogs! New puppy parents must be dedicated to obedience, socialization and potty training to ensure the pup grows up to be a happy and well-adjusted dog. We recommend the ENTIRE family attend puppy training classes. This ensures that all family member are using the same commands and techniques.     Please note a fenced yard is preferred for this baby to romp and safely play. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 25, 2025, 10:43 am
