Story
I adopted Cooper when my best friend and I recently moved out of our home we were renting together. He is very quirky, characteristic, listens very well to commands when he's not excited of course. But very responsive to training with treats or just plain old belly scratches. I love him and I pray whoever he goes to will be able to give him a fun life he deserves. My original goal was to keep Cooper but unfortunately due to landlord permission issues where I'm going to be living here in the near future I cannot keep him

Story
* SPECIAL NEEDS - STRANGER DANGER * Do you have a pool in need of a swimmer? Mila would love to help you out with that. Swim, swim, swim and an occasional car ride makes Mila a happy girl. Her favorite volunteer has become her Woof Pack leader taking her home for an afternoon most weekends to enjoy pool time, learn some basic social skills and be introduced to the outside world. Mila loves you unconditionally once you're in her circle of friends but it does take a few introductions for her to trust you are one of the friendly ones. Mila would be best as the only 4-legged member of the family in an adult-only home. For an appointment to meet her, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found on our website, www.satchelslatresort.org, and an adoption counselor will be in touch.

Story
If you're looking for a chill senior dog to hang with and be your number 1 companion and best friend, look no further - Kelly is the girl for you! Kelly has spent a number of years at Satchel's and recently went into a foster home to see how she would deal with life in a home. She settled into the home like she'd lived there her entire life and was the perfect house guest. Kelly loves meeting new people and getting belly rubs and kisses from everyone she sees on her walks. She walks well on leash, knows all basic commands and is very obedient. Car rides are one of her favorite outings (doesn't matter where to). She sits nicely as the co-pilot or will lay down in the back depending where you tell her to go. She doesn't much care for other four-legged beings and would prefer to be the only one in the home. For an appointment to meet Kelly, please submit the adoption application at satchelslastresort.org and an adoption counselor will contact you.

Story
A shy and cautious boy, our handsome Kricket is learning to explore the world again one paw at a time. He may come up to you with worried eyes, but with a bit of encouragement and possibly a tasty treat, becomes a friend quickly. He has been meeting new people almost every day, going on walks, riding in the car, or spending some one-on-one time in the yards. He is a wonderful walker and great on the leash, though if spooked, tends to pull back to home base. He has done pretty well with some canine buddies, and prefers a calmer friend to spend time with. He can be quite the comedian at times, with his different facial expressions and unwillingness to participate in unwanted activities. He is a fan of toys, but always prefers a friend on the other end. When he is comfortable, Kricket will show a smirking smile, sneak in a few kisses and a happy wagging tail. He is a very sweet boy underneath that spotty coat of his, and with patience and encouragement will be able to expand his horizons. Kricket is good in a home environment. He doesn't get on the furniture and doesn't have accidents. He likes taking naps and will put up with a bath. If you are looking for a friend to share new experiences with, but still like a cozy day in, Kricket would love to meet you! For an appointment to meet Kricket, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found on our website, www.satchelslastresort.org, and an adoption counselor will be in touch.

Story
Gorgeous blue eyes, like the singer he was named after, Sinatra is a charming, happy go lucky senior looking to retire in style. He has his own rhythm, and you can catch him prancing with his head held high everywhere he goes. He loves to go on all types of adventures, ranging from long walks, to car rides with the windows down. He has no problem hanging around and lounging in the yards with volunteers as well. He is a little picky with his food, and likes to eat at his own pace. He does love treats, soft ones more so than the hard ones, which helps with enforcing training. He is quite spunky and likes to play, running around and play bowing to people. He is not your typical cuddle dog, he has great pride in himself, and enjoys more so, sitting next to your feet or in a dog bed close by when relaxing. He is not a fan of his head being touched or rubbed on, but a good butt scratch is always welcomed. If you would like to meet this handsome stud and watch him strut his stuff, please fill out an adoption application (no commitment) at Satchelslastresort.org.

Story
PRISCILLACatahoula Mix My name is Priscilla. I'm a 3-year-old female Catahoula Leopard Dog mix. I was rescued from the shelter while pregnant and gave birth to 4 puppies, but that was TWO years ago. I do live with my only surviving pup; Fig is his name and he is deaf. I would like to find a home for both of us together if possible. I'm shy when meeting new people, love to be close to the person I trust, and am good with other dogs but I am a dominant female and prefer the boys. Fig and I would be good with older kids or a family of adults would be good. We don't mind walks but love a fenced backyard to run and play. We've been waiting a really long time, over 2 years, for a home and family to love. If you are interested in Priscilla (and Fig), or any of the other dogs in the rescue, please start by filling out the online application at www.aussieandme.org. Priscilla is located at our sanctuary location in North Florida. Rescued: 2021  Location: North FL ##1256283##

FIGSpecial Needs: DeafFig is a larger breed dog, he is also deaf but this does not slow him down at all. He is playful, good with other dogs, likes to be with you, and is eager to learn. Fig does show signs of separation anxiety so a perfect home would be with another dog, someone who is home more or someone looking for a constant companion. Fig is a super wonderful pup and very well-behaved. Rescued: 2021 Location: North FL  ##1037331##

Story
Groot is 10 months old and I got him when he was 4 weeks old from a backyard breeder because his mom quit nursing him. He loves playing in water, and playing with toys and being outside, he’s good with cows and horses but has never been around chickens or goats. He grew up with dogs and cats of all sizes but we had to move out due to unfortunate circumstances and doesn’t seem to get along with any of the cats or dogs here. He’s house trained and will sit on command. He’s a very talkative and goofy dog that never ceases to make me laugh. He’s a big lover boy and deserves the world. I genuinely hate to get rid of him but he needs somewhere to go that he won’t be locked in a room all day everyday. He is a puppy and has a small chewing problem that I am working on breaking him on and I will continue to work with him as much as possible until I can find him a suitable home. He deserves a home that will give him attention and unconditional love.

Story
Single, lonely and searching for his perfect match. Rocket is a seven year old Coonhound mix recovering from a traumatic past. Sadly he lost his trust in people but not his love for people. Rocket loves everyone and gets very excited when meeting people or seeing his favorite human friends. He has a fear of "harsh corrections". Sometimes just the word "no" makes him nervous, though he is getting better. He is scared of being "dragged" by his collar and can be apprehensive about anyone putting one on, but does walk very well on a leash. He is housebroken, crate trained, and very obedient, always wanting to learn new tricks and skills. He loves to run in the backyard and enjoys playing with Frisbees, tennis balls, or his giant ball he can push around. Rocket is seeking an adult only home where he longs for the day he feels safe and loved, watching TV while chewing on his favorite Nylabone. For an appointment to meet Rocket, please submit an adoption application (no commitment) at Satchelslastresort.org.
