Hi, I'm Ed. I've been at Second Chance for over 2 years now. I am a young, energetic, sweet boy. Did I say energetic? I love to go outside and play, or take walks. If you are looking for the adventurous type for hikes and outdoorsy fun, I'm your guy! I'm a little dog and people selective, I do best with female dogs and will do best with a confident and experienced dog owner. Also, no DNA tests have been done, so no one knows for sure what breed I am. I look like I might have Catahoula Leopard Dog in my mix and probably some bully. This means home ownership to adopt me is required! I have all had all of my shots, and am neutered. Also included in my adoption fee, is a registered microchip and a full set of medical records for you and my future vet! If you are interested in meeting me, please complete an adoption application. Bindi is a uniquely beautiful 6 year old Catahoula Leopard Dog. She is housebroken, has a mellow energy level and is calm and well behaved in the home - she is already trustworthy in the house and does not need a crate or kennel. While she does well meeting new people outside of the home, she is protective over her home and belongings when guests come into her home. The rescue will provide new training for an adopter at no cost to help her start off on the right foot at learning to allow guests to come into the home successfully, but she will need an experienced, committed adopter ready to work with her. She would do best with an experienced, patient adopter and a quiet household without a lot of people coming and going. Bindi is part of our rehoming program and her current family is rehoming her because she does not get along well with the other dog in her home. Bindi is not reactive when meeting new dogs out in public or on walks but again struggles with sharing her space and belongings with them. She would do best as the only dog in the home. Precious is a sweet, shy 3 year old Catahoula Leopard Dog mix. She lives with other dogs and kitty cats and does well with both, would do great in a home with other furry companions. She is a little shy and avoidant with people she does not know, she will need a calm, patient adopter willing to do a few meetings to earn her trust before she goes home. Because she is nervous with new people, we are not recommending her to a home with small children as they would probably stress her out. Charlie is a gorgeous and loving 5-6 yr old, very energetic Catahoula/Foxhound mix adopted from a private owner who was moving and couldn't take a dog. He is UTD on all shots and weighs 72lbs. He's Housebroken & Crate-trained. He doesn't like brooms, but loves his pet vacuum. Possible allergies cause him to scratch a bit, and he can get ear infections but takes meds without a fuss. He's is very docile at the Vet. She wishes he'd teach her other canine patients how to behave. He loves car rides but does not like taking walks out of his own backyard. Fetch is his favorite high-energy game. He's very protective and is a great guard dog. Strangers and mailmen tend to spook him and cause him to bark or bolt. I've had both knees replaced and he's caused me to fall several times, which is the main reason I need to find him a new home. He gets along with other dogs. He has a QR code tag on his collar but no micro-chip. A farm or home with active older children would ideal.
