Louis is approx 4 yrs old and 90lbs. This Catahoula/Chocolate lab mix was found roaming alone in rural Texas. Louis was surviving off food that was left out for him by local citizens until a rescue could step in to save him. He has settled into a foster home and his foster feels he will be happiest in our cooler climate! Louis loves people, is good with other dogs and has no issues with his Foster’s resident cats. Louis always wants to be near his people and comes when called. He would love to find a home with active people who can spend a lot of time with him and a home or property with plenty of room to romp and run. From Foster: Waverly is a pretty girl with a sweet playful spirit. She loves to play with other dogs but can also have quieter moments of cuddling. She is a good pup with a great personality beginning to emerge. This pup was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Meet and greets are by appointment only. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances. From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs.
