Story
Lexi is an awesome dog! She is super friendly, and loyal, bonding quickly to her people. She loves to play a game of fetch, and looks to her people to learn, play, engage and have FUN! Lexi does well with her commands such as sit, lay down, take it and drop it. Because she is a high energy dog she would do best in an active household who have experience with large dogs (she weighs ~55+lbs). She is quite food motivated, so having treats on you would be great, she also loves to learn. SHe is a great hiking, jogging or running partner! Lexi resides with a playmate at our Sanctuary and they come out to go on runs with the side-by-side buggy, she LOVES IT! And there is nothing better than a romp at the creek or at least a dip in the trough/pool! Lexi is a playgirl and a tomboy, she loves affection, playing with people and dogs, loves toys, and being an important part of her people's lives! Lexii loves being the center of attention, and so may be easiest as an only dog in the home, but for dog savvy folks, who engage in training and creating boundaries where needed she can co-house. She is currently taking a break at the Milo Sanctuary and living with three other dogs - happily! She has a beautiful golden, brindle coat and is a nice size, lean and athletic, perfect for wide open spaces and running. ADOPTION FEE: $550

Story
Are you looking for a loyal, fun, eager-to-please adventure buddy? Johnny might be your guy! This gorgeous, intelligent 1-year-old goofball is hoping to learn all about life in a loving, consistent environment. He would thrive in a home with an active adult(s) who will take him for daily hikes/walks/runs. He would also do will with kids over 12, due to his size, energy, and playfulness. This 48-lb. boy is that special combination of whip-smart and sweet, and he bonds to his person quickly. Johnny is still young and very trainable: he knows sit, down, touch, shake, and is eager to add to his repertoire! He is highly food motivated and is looking for a household dedicated to ongoing training and socialization to bring out the best in this boy. Because he is a working breed, his ideal owner would be someone with experience and understanding of dogs who are high drive and could provide him with the physical and mental exercise to keep him happy and healthy. With proper introduction, Johnny gets along with almost every dog that can put up with his high energy. At our facility, Johnny happily plays with several dog friends who match his playfulness and enthusiasm. Johnny is available to foster or adopt, and would love to meet you at our facility in Pt. Richmond.

Story
Bubba truly is the most genial gentle giant. His loving foster family has this summary on him: Bubba is one of a kind. We continue to be impressed with him as he comes out of his shell and gets more comfortable in a home environment. We fall more and more in love with him everyday. While he is large, he is such a good leash walker, always walking slack leash next to you and checking in with you so he's really easy to manage. Unless he sees a squirrel or other darting small creature in which case he can get a little excited - but he responds super well to a bit of verbal correction and redirection. He's been great with my extended family's dogs: 20 lb Chiweenie and 7 lb Terrier mix - both of whom are not fans of big dogs. He's been good with meeting dogs out on leash as well. He loves being near his people and will lean on you to make sure you know he's got you. He doesn't love being left alone for long periods of time - think he would be great for a person or family who either WFH or has someone at home during the day or perhaps another dog companion). He's a very sensitive and intuitive being and quickly picks up on cues and correction. I have been working with him on sitting and waiting before opening doors and for his meals. He absolutely loves going for car rides - jumps right in and settles quickly. He does benefit from a moderate amount of exercise. We have been either doing short runs (1-2 miles), HIkes or multiple walks throughout the day and that's been enough for him. In the house he's very chill and will just find a good spot to lay near you wherever you are. Sometimes he can get underfoot, but he always graciously moves when asked. He loves a soft spot to lay and if you have an elevated chair or bed for him - even better! He also enjoys a good chew toy. We have been slowly socializing him in new environments. 1. We've taken him to several outdoor restaurants with loud music and alot of people - totally fine, in fact he will sometimes lay down and fall asleep! 2. This past weekend he went to a 3 year old birthday party and was a total hit with the kids (and adults!) 3. We went to the Marin Country Mart and he's a great shopping buddy.

Chagall is an artist in puppy life, love and pursuit of happiness. He is a joy to be around, a chill fellow for a puppy. He's relaxed and happy, social and loving - what more could you want?! Truly, he is a wonderful pup, ready for a family to call his own, or to share with other four legged buddies. Raising a puppy takes time, patience and a true commitment. Puppies need enrichment, socialization and consistency in training. They take resources and can cause a few less than perfect nights' sleep. With lots of love and a little effort, your family will have a great dog for many years! Are you prepared to take the time and provide the resources a new puppy needs? Chagall will be at least a medium size, probably 50-60 lbs. as an adult. His adoption fee is $400.

Story
Meet Clyde! This deaf sweetheart is looking for a compassionate and understanding forever home that will give him the unconditional love and acceptance he deserves. He's an incredibly loving and playful puppy who has great dog manners, and eagerly makes friends with dogs of all sizes. He needs a home with dog companions to stay happy and fulfilled, and would love to join your friendly and social pack. He's smart, eager to please, and sure to respond well to consistent positive reinforcement training. Clyde has been doing fabulously well in foster care, his foster mom tells us "He has been a super sweet house guest and has taught our middle-aged Vizsla to play. He has learned to sit and is on his way to learning to lie down. He doesn't like to be alone so it's pretty easy to get him to go places, come in from the yard etc. He loves to snuggle on the couch and the bed (usually sleeps using my legs as a pillow!). He did great at the Pet Food Express adoption Pop-Up events, he was great with all other dogs and wanted to meet them all. He is good on leash, especially when he has another dog to keep him moving. He much prefers to free range in our yard to do his business. He likes to chase shadows and can get stuck in a loop but it's easy to distract and redirect. This behavior happens much less if he gets a nice long walk that day". He can't wait to join a home that has done their deaf dog research and is excited to welcome him into their family!
