Story
Lexi is an awesome dog! She is super friendly, and loyal, bonding quickly to her people. She loves to play a game of fetch, and looks to her people to learn, play, engage and have FUN! Lexi does well with her commands such as sit, lay down, take it and drop it. Because she is a high energy dog she would do best in an active household who have experience with large dogs (she weighs ~55+lbs). She is quite food motivated, so having treats on you would be great, she also loves to learn. SHe is a great hiking, jogging or running partner! Lexi resides with a playmate at our Sanctuary and they come out to go on runs with the side-by-side buggy, she LOVES IT! And there is nothing better than a romp at the creek or at least a dip in the trough/pool! Lexi is a playgirl and a tomboy, she loves affection, playing with people and dogs, loves toys, and being an important part of her people's lives! Lexii loves being the center of attention, and so may be easiest as an only dog in the home, but for dog savvy folks, who engage in training and creating boundaries where needed she can co-house. She is currently taking a break at the Milo Sanctuary and living with three other dogs - happily! She has a beautiful golden, brindle coat and is a nice size, lean and athletic, perfect for wide open spaces and running. ADOPTION FEE: $550

Story
He is a stray that followed me home. He is very playful and loving. He loves to shake paws and will try and entice anyone and everyday to play. He doesn't seem to like other dogs trying to eat from his bowl but other than that, he gets along fine with other dogs of all breeds. I have an old Australian Terrier who isn't interested in playing and my cat has been hiding under the porch ever since Rosco showed up. He is a bit of an escape artist, pals around with the neighborhood dogs who also escape. I would love to keep but, I can't just act like my cat doesn't exist. Plus, he was a tendency to run right through my older dog because he is small and slow. Again, he is very friendly and loving. I have had to establish dominance over him from playing a little to rough with my Aussie Terrier. He did not growl at me or get aggressive. He wants to please and play.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Treeing Walker Coonhound in Shasta CountyRosie is not a GGBR dog. She is listed here as a courtesy to another rescue. For more information, or to meet, or adopt Rosie, please contact Suzanne, or SNIPPP. Their phone numbers are listed at the end of Rosie's description. Dearest Rosie’s new home didn’t work out. Though they loved her  they were unable to get her accustomed to city life.    This beautiful five year old purebred Treeing Walker Coonhound needs a special place and special people who have the time and location that will fit this sweet sweet girl.     We have learned that she will need to be in the country, NO city life for Miss Rosie ! She needs someone that will be patient with her and love all of her quirks which are in no way her fault. She suffered abuse and neglect for the first years of her life. Then her new owner who loved her is terminally ill and can no longer care for her.    She’d love to be an only dog or just one other large dog.   Too much excitement with multiple dogs can scare her a little. She’s not aggressive at all just timid    It would be wonderful  if the person was retired or at least home with her most of the time.    Her foster mom says  she hasn’t had any accidents in the house and lets us know when she needs out and she will bark when she’s ready to come back in.    Have you the time and love of hounds to give Rosie her forever home? Please call Suzanne 530-335-2192 Or Snippp 530-336- 6006 to learn more about this dear girl. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 24, 2024, 7:10 pm
