Callie spent a weekend with two of our foster volunteers, who quickly saw what a calm, sweet, affectionate, and gentle companion she is. House-trained and well-mannered indoors, Callie enjoys neighborhood walks, car rides, and cuddling. She stays close at home but isn't underfoot, and she'll be right by your side on the sofa. Callie sleeps peacefully through the night, waking up when you do, and gives gentle kisses when petted. At 45 pounds, she's the perfect medium-sized dog with low to medium energy. She even enjoys bath time and being toweled off. Walking nicely on a leash, Callie hopped right into the car the first time, buckled up with a dog seatbelt, and behaved well, enjoying the breeze from a half-open window. She knows sit, down, shake, and wait, and patiently waits at the door before walks and for her food dish. Callie sits politely on the sofa while you eat and loves playing fetch, allowing you to reach for the toy at her feet. She's a perfect companion, ready to bring joy to your home. Callie is approved for kids age 5 and older. She is still learning how to be comfortable when alone so we recommend that her new owners are experienced with dog ownership and training. She is selective of other dogs she shares her space with so we will be providing dog introductions to potential adopters who already have a dog at home. A complimentary training voucher is included in her adoption price to set her up for success in her new home.
