Story
Meet Trout, an approximately 4-year-old male Catahoula mix. Trout came to the shelter as a stray and after not being claimed, he is now up for adoption. Trout seems like he has not had the proper care in a while. We are working on getting him brushed out, but from the looks of his coat he will really benefit from good food and regular brushing. From what we have observed, Trout is a total lovebug with people! Trout would be best as an only dog in the home. Trout is UTD on his DAPP and Bordetella and is neutered, microchipped and had his rabies vaccination. If you are interested in meeting Trout, please call the shelter to set up an appointment today at 928-636-4223, ext. 7!

Story
Meet JJ, an approximately 5-6-month-old male Catahoula mix. JJ was brought into the shelter as a stray and, after not being claimed, he is now up for adoption. JJ has a ton of puppy energy and loves to get attention. JJ is a friend of all, he has taken to every person and dog that he has met here at the shelter. He does great with other dogs, loves to romp and play with them. We are unsure of how JJ will be with kids, but given his age and temperament we assume he will do very well, although he will probably need training on how to appropriately interact with them. Puppies are a BIG commitment, and a potential owner needs to be ready to commit for the long haul. JJ has had his first DAPP shot, but he still needs 2 boosters. JJ has an appointment set for his neuter, rabies vaccination and microchip on 11/12/24, but he is able to go home with his new owner prior to that. If you are interested in meeting JJ, call the shelter to set up an appointment today at 928-636-4223, ext. 7!

Story
Rooster, also known as "Roo" for Kangaroo, is a really sweet pup looking for a loving and committed home. He came in as a stray as he was found abandoned/tied up outside of a shopping center with no information. We searched and searched and no owner was ever found. We have learned a lot about Roo in the short time we have known him! He's a special dog, so smart - super smart. We think Roo is part Malinois as he is so intelligent, eager to please and driven. He knows all of his basic commands, is crate trained, potty trained and is great on the leash. He is looking for a home that is active (physically) and will take him on adventures, hikes, walks and then is is okay giving him quiet down time (he's excellently crate trained) when he's not adventuring. He's the type of dog who is either on or off - so he greatly benefits from structure, that's when he is happiest! Roo also gets along great with other dogs! He's in an incredible foster home with a very experienced trainer that has shared the following about her experience with him, "he's incredibly unique - I've had thousands of dogs in my care and Roo stands out as one of the smartest, easiest to train and competent dogs I have ever had. He would love to have a job working little puzzles with his mind in the form of basic obedience - even simple tasks - he's so willing to learn and please. He would also make a great service dog and we are working to get that base training for him now. He's also really nice with people and loves other dogs so there are so many pluses about this amazing pup! Please contact me to meet him!" To meet Roo please call (928) 821-5507! Roo's adoption fee is just $25, he's neutered/vaccinated/microchipped - with free registration & ready to go home today. His adoption comes with support from Moran to ensure a smooth transition into a home as well, such a plus! *Please share Roo if you know anyone who would be a good fit for him, we wouldn't want anyone to miss this incredible pup!*
