Story
If you are looking for a cuddle buddy, Atlas is the guy for you. His unique looks and amazingly sweet and inquisitive personality are products of his rich breed mixture. Atlas (also known as "Mr. Steal Your Heart and Pillow") enjoys long walks, short car rides, exploring, cooling off in creeks, lounging around the house, playing tug, unstuffing plush toys, wrestling and playing the bitey face game with his doggy sibling, cuddling in bed, and anything else that allows him to spend time with his family. At almost 3 years old, he has outgrown most undesirable puppy behaviors, but is still an active boy who requires adequate exercise. He does well with children and other dogs. He has done well with cats! He likes to lead walks and can be overly eager to meet new dog friends, so some training in those areas is recommended. He also gets overwhelmed in busy settings and sometimes experiences stranger danger so it is advised to avoid crowded settings unless addressed by a trainer. He is overnight crate trained, but he becomes anxious when left in the crate for extended periods of time during the day so his ideal home would have a pet parent who is home for the greater part of the day. Atlas is learning how to pull carts. He is a very smart dog and seeks to please his owners. Atlas is house/potty trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. If you would like to meet this handsome guy and make him part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/

Story
Sage is a one year old, 80 pound Pitahoula who we are currently fostering. Sage came to us for a board & train in August of 2024, however a few months after her training her parents asked us to take her in because they were unaware of how big she would get & underestimated her activity level. Sage completed a two week board & train where she learned sit, down, heel, place, come & door manners! Sage is Kennel trained! Sage sleeps in her kennel just fine through the night & is accident free since we have had her! Sage is a sweet, loving & well tempered girl who loves treats, chew toys & tennis balls. Sage's favorite play activity is chase, preferably with her tennis ball in her mouth. Sage needs a home where she can be provided play/activity & someone who is willing to keep up with the training she worked so hard to learn. Sage is great with other dogs! Sage has shown interest in our cats, but our cats are not fond of large dogs.If your cat is young or fond of dogs it could be great!
