If you are looking for a cuddle buddy, Atlas is the guy for you. His unique looks and amazingly sweet and inquisitive personality are products of his rich breed mixture. Atlas (also known as "Mr. Steal Your Heart and Pillow") enjoys long walks, short car rides, exploring, cooling off in creeks, lounging around the house, playing tug, unstuffing plush toys, wrestling and playing the bitey face game with his doggy sibling, cuddling in bed, and anything else that allows him to spend time with his family. At almost 3 years old, he has outgrown most undesirable puppy behaviors, but is still an active boy who requires adequate exercise. He does well with children and other dogs. He has done well with cats! He likes to lead walks and can be overly eager to meet new dog friends, so some training in those areas is recommended. He also gets overwhelmed in busy settings and sometimes experiences stranger danger so it is advised to avoid crowded settings unless addressed by a trainer. He is overnight crate trained, but he becomes anxious when left in the crate for extended periods of time during the day so his ideal home would have a pet parent who is home for the greater part of the day. Atlas is learning how to pull carts. He is a very smart dog and seeks to please his owners. Atlas is house/potty trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. Please read ALL below where you will find answers about the pet, our adoption fees and how to do our adoption application! Pet Description: Mindy is a one-year-old female Catahoula, 40 lbs. She is certainly a gorgeous gal with her striking markings; lots of energy, good with other dogs, seems to want to chase cats, loves attention. Originally came to us as a stray no one ever came looking for sadly and was adopted to the most wonderful home. Sadly health issues of her adopter came up so she had to come back to us and it broke their heart. In the time she was with her adopter they let us know she is now house & crate-trained and while she loves playing she is also quite the house-dog. Go out to potty in the rain - hu, no thank you but no mess in the house either. She stayed in their fence with no issues. They say she would do great with another playful dog close to her size as when family visited with their dog, the two played outside all day long. Mindy does still need work on leash walking as she just likes to pull and can be a lot to hang on to. She was most loved and now we need to find her another fantastic home where she will be loved & treasured. DOG ADOPTION FEE is $100. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more. (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter).
