Story
Morticia is a beautiful 3-year old female kitty who was surrendered by her owner on May 20, 2023 along with her 3-month old kitten (Wednesday) and two one-year old male kitties (Gomez and Pugsley). Morticia has a sleek black short smooth coat, a long tail, and an adorable face with dark golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long black whiskers. This lovely mother kitty is understandably frightened being in a small cage when she enjoyed the freedom of her very own home for several years. Morticia and her kitten Wednesday are sharing a cage so that they may provide comfort/security for each other. Momma and baby dearly love each other. Morticia was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on May 24, 2023. she weighed 6 lbs that day. Morticia was spayed on May 30, 2023 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 6.04 lbs that day. Since Morticia has been spayed, she is ready to find a loving home either through adoption or rescue. Naturally we'd love for Morticia and Wednesday to find a home together. Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation.

Morticia has a sleek black short smooth coat, a long tail, and an adorable face with dark golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long black whiskers. This lovely mother kitty was understandably frightened being in a small cage when we took preliminary photos on May 25th since she had enjoyed the freedom of her very own home for several years. These updated photos were taken on June 6, 2023, and we were happy to see that Morticia was beginning to relax and to trust that our HSOV kennel techs are her new best friends who love her unconditionally. Story
Onyx is a magnificent 2-year old male Siamese mix kitty who was found in Belpre Ohio and rescued by a compassionate woman who gave him a temporary home and offered to foster him until he could be adopted. Onyx has a sleek black short smooth coat, a long tail, and a handsome chubby face with golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long black whiskers. These photos of Onyx were taken on October 24, 2023 when his foster mother brought him to HSOV for us to meet him 'up close and personal'. Thanks to HSOV Volunteer/Board Member Tracy Moore for helping Onyx with his photo session. This was a new experience for Onyx, and he was obviously out of his comfort zone .. But he made the best of the situation and was quite friendly/congenial while we snapped several pictures. Onyx was quite content to relax in Tracy's arms for some close-up photos of his beautiful face (and he even agreed to wear a tiny purple/white/black plaid bow tie). His foster mother has had Onyx vetted, so he has been neutered and is up-to-date on vaccinations. Onyx is a big boy who currently weighs 12.7 lbs, so there is a lot of him to love. The other cats in his foster home haven't accepted Onyx into their circle of friends, so Onyx needs to find a permanent home of his own. If you'd like to meet/adopt Onyx, please submit an HSOV adoption application for approval and we will arrange a meet-and-greet with his foster mother.

Story
Miss Daisy is a beautiful 10-year old female kitty who was brought to the HSOV on December 9, 2023 by Good Samaritans who had learned of Miss Daisy's sad story and wanted desperately to find her the best home ever.... Miss Daisy had been living near two motels (and a restaurant) in Marietta Ohio and was being fed by kind employees at those business establishments after they realized that Miss Daisy was also taking care of her newborn kittens. When the kittens were about 5-6 weeks old, employees found homes for the kittens ... And the Good Samaritans gained Miss Daisy's confidence and were able to entice her into a cat carrier. They were unsure if (sigh) Miss Daisy might be pregnant again, so we quickly reached out to one of our wonderful foster kitty mothers who agreed to give Miss Daisy a temporary home where she will be able to give birth to her babies if she is pregnant .. And if she turns out not to be pregnant, we will have her spayed and find her a fantastic home. Miss Daisy has a brown tabby short smooth coat with white highlights on her chest, a long ringed tail, and a pretty face with golden eyes, a dusting of white on her muzzle, a brown velvet nose, and long white whiskers. This lovely lady has a sweet, affectionate personality and a rather shy disposition. Miss Daisy enjoys petting (as long as you take things slow .. and she doesn't really like to be petted on her head/neck). Miss Daisy was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on December 9, 2023. She weighed 8.7 lbs that day. UPDATE: We breathed a sigh of relief when Miss Daisy had been in foster care for two months with no signs of being pregnant! Miss Daisy was returned to our shelter on January 29th since she was not pregnant and will soon be available for adoption. She was spayed on January 30, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 8.4 lbs that day.

Story
Coyote is a magnificent one-year old male kitty who was surrendered by his owner on March 23, 2024. This handsome boy has quite a background story which we will share with potential adopters: Coyote originally came to HSOV May 31, 2023 when he was a teeny tiny kitten. He had been heard crying and meowing somewhere in a field close to our shelter that day .. Thankfully our HSOV kennel techs were able to apprehend this tiny boy and bring him safely inside our shelter on June 1, 2023. Coyote was understandably a frightened little guy and didn't realize he was among his new best friends, but within a couple of weeks he began to trust our shelter staff. Coyote was always a bit apprehensive when his cage door was opened and would usually retreat to the back of his cage, but he was actually a friendly kitten who was just putting up a brave front. Coyote has a gray-and-white short coat, a long tail, and a beautiful face with golden eyes, a gray 'beauty mark' beside his tiny black nose, and a long white whiskers. Coyote was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on June 1, 2023. He weighed 1.6 lbs on June 2nd. Coyote was given booster vaccines on June 22, 2023. He was neutered on July 17, 2023 and was also given rabies vaccine. Coyote weighed 3.14 lbs. that day. Coyote was adopted on July 21, 2023 and spent eight months in his adoptive home but came back to our shelter on March 23, 2023. His family told us that he has been an exclusive indoor-only kitty. Coyote gets along with cat-friendly dogs. He did not share his home with other cats, and he has not had experience with children. Coyote will run/hide when he is scared. He is quite playful but prefers to play when he is alone or out-of-sight. These photos of Coyote were taken on March 24, 2024 in the HSOV Jungle Room (one of our cat adoption rooms). Coyote was cute as a kitten, and he has matured into a very handsome young man with a sweet, rather quite, personality. Coyote is a big boy these days who weighs approximately 12-13 lbs. Coyote is looking for another loving home with a family or individual who would give him the time to acclimate on his own schedule to his new home. He is also available for rescue. Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation.
