Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Introducing the Star kittens! This lovely litter, born 8/5/24, looks at first glance like a typical litter of tuxedo kitties, but on further inspection, each of them has something that makes them just a bit special and unique. SIRIUS (male) has an adorable black symmetrical blotch on his nose with a white outline and white muzzle. VEGA (female) has the cutest white spots under her nose, and a white U shape under her chin. ANTARES (female) has a half white, half black muzzle, a black spot on her chin, and a bold white blaze between her eyes. These sweet kitties will adapt well to pretty much any sort of family, including those with children, other cats, and dogs. These siblings spent some time on medical hold due to some long-term digestive challenges; they spent a few months eating Royal Canin Gastrointestinal kitten veterinary diet, and now that their digestive systems have matured a bit, they are transitioning to Purina One Sensitive Skin & Stomach food, which is far more affordable. Vega and Sirius are ready to join their forever homes, and can't wait to meet you! Antares is still having some intestinal challenges, so we have kept her on medical hold for now, although she could go to an experienced home that doesn't mind some extra litterbox duties until her system catches up to her siblings' systems. These kittens can be adopted in pairs for a discount, or individually. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Sirius is a suggested minimum of $50 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

Story
Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Sweetums and Toots are so much fun! These two goofballs are always making staff and volunteers laugh. They are very cuddly and playful, and don’t want miss out on anything. They watch the door to ensure they are the first to greet any visitors coming to their room. In their Meow Manor room they have a running wheel, which they absolutely love - their antics on the wheel are so much fun to watch! These cuties are both easy going, love to be carried around and are good with older children. They are known to give a love bite here and there when they are feeling extra sassy! Both Sweetums and Toots get along great with other cats but have not yet been tested with dogs; we suspect they will be fine with cat-friendly pups, but we'll do an official test prior to placement with a dog. These feisty, frisky felines have lots of energy and would love a family that will wear them out with interactive play! Toots and Sweetums do not HAVE to be adopted as a pair - but they sure would LIKE to be adopted together. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee is a suggested minimum of $50 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! Story
Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Lulu is a lovely girl, born 7/11/22, who was originally adopted from Forget Me Not as a kitten. Her person loved her very much, but during a recent move, was unable to find housing that would allow Lulu to come too. We, of course, welcomed Lulu back to the Forget Me Not family, and will try again to find her a new snuggle-buddy. Lulu is a very sweet, loving girl who would love nothing more than to snuggle with you! She does not like other cats, though she loves people and is a little chatter box. Always telling you about something! 😉 Lulu is playful and is all about treats, if given the opportunity she will knock treat containers off the counter in hopes the lid pops off. Due to crystals in her urine in the past, she is on a special diet of half dry food and half wet food and has had no issues on this diet. We haven't tested Lulu with dogs yet, but will do so if you have a cat friendly pup! All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Lulu is a suggested minimum of $40 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Introducing Bonita, a petite and playful girl who loves attention. She will turn 2 this July, so is still very kittenish in her behavior. Bonita does not care for other cats, but, with a slow introduction, does fine with dogs. She is one of the office cats here at the shelter and loves to say hello to all the visitors and volunteers. If you've been wanting a tuxedo-clad greeter for your home, Bonita is at your service! All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Bonita is a suggested minimum of $40 (more gratefully accepted). SHY CAT SPECIAL, now until 6/30/25: $20 adoption fee, plus a free wand toy and churu treat to help with acclimating them to their new homes! PLUS extended 90 day trial adoption period! Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Introducing Derby, a magnificent black and white medium-haired girl who is about 50% fluffy-tail. You'll note that Derby has a "tipped ear" (the very tip of her left ear was surgically removed). This indicates that Derby was part of a feral colony on which we did Trap-Neuter-Return. Her destiny SHOULD have been to go back to her colony with the rest of her family, but she let us know she was not TOTALLY opposed to the idea of humans in her life. Yay! Derby spent some time in a loving foster home, where she got along beautifully with the other cats and learned how to play, and how to accept affection from her foster parents. She has since transitioned back to life at the shelter where she tends to hide from strangers. We are confident she will once again blossom in a calm and patient forever home, and one day you will find her curled up next to you when you wake up - awwww! Shy kitties take a little longer to settle in to their families, but the wait is worth it. Do you have enough cat-whisperer in you to continue the wonderful progress with Derby? Here is some information on adopting a shy cat: https://anticruelty.org/pet-library/adopting-shy-cat Judging from the results many of our prior shy-cat adopters have achieved, these shy kitties often become the most devoted and affectionate family members when allowed to blossom at their own rates. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Derby is a suggested minimum of SHY CAT SPECIAL $20 (more gratefully accepted). Jif and Skippy are brothers, born 4/16/24. Their gentle natures mecan they should become excellent family members once they have adapted to their new homes and families, but for now they are quite shy - Skippy a bit more so than Jif. Here is information about adopting a shy cat: https://anticruelty.org/pet-library/adopting-shy-cat These two are always near each other and would enjoy being adopted together, but this is not a requirement; either can be found to venture off if they find another bed that looks comfy. Both allow petting if you take your time (see videos), and are slowly improving through daily visits from different volunteer cat socializers. While these boys may never be "ambassador cats" who run to greet your visitors at the door, they will become grateful and devoted companions for the right people. There is nothing quite like the warm and fuzzy feeling the first time a shy cat jumps up onto your bed for snuggles! All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee is a suggested minimum of SHY CAT SPECIAL - $20 (more gratefully accepted).
