SHY CAT SPECIAL, now until 6/30/25: $20 adoption fee, plus a free wand toy and churu treat to help with acclimating them to their new homes! PLUS extended 90 day trial adoption period! Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Introducing Derby, a magnificent black and white medium-haired girl who is about 50% fluffy-tail. You'll note that Derby has a "tipped ear" (the very tip of her left ear was surgically removed). This indicates that Derby was part of a feral colony on which we did Trap-Neuter-Return. Her destiny SHOULD have been to go back to her colony with the rest of her family, but she let us know she was not TOTALLY opposed to the idea of humans in her life. Yay! Derby spent some time in a loving foster home, where she got along beautifully with the other cats and learned how to play, and how to accept affection from her foster parents. She has since transitioned back to life at the shelter where she tends to hide from strangers. We are confident she will once again blossom in a calm and patient forever home, and one day you will find her curled up next to you when you wake up - awwww! Shy kitties take a little longer to settle in to their families, but the wait is worth it. Do you have enough cat-whisperer in you to continue the wonderful progress with Derby? Here is some information on adopting a shy cat: https://anticruelty.org/pet-library/adopting-shy-cat Judging from the results many of our prior shy-cat adopters have achieved, these shy kitties often become the most devoted and affectionate family members when allowed to blossom at their own rates. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Derby is a suggested minimum of SHY CAT SPECIAL $20 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Introducing Bonita, a petite and playful girl who loves attention. She will turn 2 this July, so is still very kittenish in her behavior. Bonita does not care for other cats, but, with a slow introduction, does fine with dogs. She is one of the office cats here at the shelter and loves to say hello to all the visitors and volunteers. If you've been wanting a tuxedo-clad greeter for your home, Bonita is at your service! All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Bonita is a suggested minimum of $40 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Sweetums and Toots are so much fun! These two goofballs are always making staff and volunteers laugh. They are very cuddly and playful, and don’t want miss out on anything. They watch the door to ensure they are the first to greet any visitors coming to their room. In their Meow Manor room they have a running wheel, which they absolutely love - their antics on the wheel are so much fun to watch! These cuties are both easy going, love to be carried around and are good with older children. They are known to give a love bite here and there when they are feeling extra sassy! Both Sweetums and Toots get along great with other cats but have not yet been tested with dogs; we suspect they will be fine with cat-friendly pups, but we'll do an official test prior to placement with a dog. These feisty, frisky felines have lots of energy and would love a family that will wear them out with interactive play! Toots and Sweetums do not HAVE to be adopted as a pair - but they sure would LIKE to be adopted together. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee is a suggested minimum of $50 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! Story
Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Lulu is a lovely girl, born 7/11/22, who was originally adopted from Forget Me Not as a kitten. Her person loved her very much, but during a recent move, was unable to find housing that would allow Lulu to come too. We, of course, welcomed Lulu back to the Forget Me Not family, and will try again to find her a new snuggle-buddy. Lulu is a very sweet, loving girl who would love nothing more than to snuggle with you! She does not like other cats, though she loves people and is a little chatter box. Always telling you about something! 😉 Lulu is playful and is all about treats, if given the opportunity she will knock treat containers off the counter in hopes the lid pops off. Due to crystals in her urine in the past, she is on a special diet of half dry food and half wet food and has had no issues on this diet. We haven't tested Lulu with dogs yet, but will do so if you have a cat friendly pup! All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Lulu is a suggested minimum of $40 (more gratefully accepted). Introducing Beans He has some food sensitivities causing digestive difficulties, so he is currently eating Royal Canin Veterinary Diet gastrointestinal kitten food, with the hope that as his system matures he can be transitioned to a less costly sensitive stomach diet, such as Purina One Sensitive Skin and Stomach. With the proper diet helping his digestion, he is finally ready to join a family. He's affectionate but not in an "in-your-face" kind of way, and doesn't much care for being picked up or for having intensive lap time. Beans is all about the toy! His best friend is Tux, if you're looking for a pair. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Beans is a suggested minimum of $50 (more gratefully accepted).
