Story
An old friend gifted me two kittens, brothers from the same litter, about five years ago. Since they've been in my care, both have lived incredibly happy lives, as they are relentlessly curious. A few months ago, one began expressing hostility toward Hades, despite a half decade living harmoniously; consequently, Hades can no longer be around his brother. Irrespective of their sibling rivalry, Hades remains uniquely himself when separate: unbelievably affectionate, calm, low maintenance, and desiring of love. He demands consistent attention, but has no problem relaxing on the couch next to you either. Moreover, he is eager to meet strangers, and welcoming of human presence. Hades deserves a loving home where he can freely be the warm cat I know he is!

Story
Todd is a good boy. He likes to lay around the house and outside in the sun, if possible. He’s a cuddle buddy! He loves to snuggle and is a mellow boy. He’s always down for playtime also! We’ve had him since he was a kitten. Recent events in our life has caused us to post him on this website. We had a baby and moved into a new home and Todd has been spraying in one of our rooms. We believe this is due to stress and anxiety with a lot of recent changes going on. We believe with the proper love, care, and a quiet home he will be calm and happy. His hobbies include sun bathing, playing with cat toys, and cuddle time before bed.

Story
Taco was rescued from a home in Virginia after a 4Paws volunteer learned that the parents didn't want him any longer and planned to just put him out on the street. He loves human attention for petting. He has big bursts of energy and will run around the house. He plays with several resident cats, often rough-and-tumble. He tends to be a door dasher, so he is not suitable for a home with small children who have not yet mastered the art of keeping doors closed, both interior and exterior. Adults also need to be very aware that he can be right behind you when you are opening a door and that he can be quick. He is super curious what interesting things may lie on the other side of a door. He has a great appetite, with all-day access to a high quality chicken kibble and twice-daily servings of juicy Fancy Feast, which he loves (and he is very vocal when he knows food is coming his way). In fact eating seems to be a Olympic sport a which he always wins gold. He will try to steal the other cats' food, even off your plate too. Taco needs to go to a home with another young kitty of his same energy level, he loves to play and is very social with other cats. He will need toys to bat around. He was easily integrated into his foster home and got along with the resident cats quickly. Taco was born around late January 2023. He is neutered, current on vaccines, tested negative for FiV/FeLV, and has been micro chipped. *** PLEASE NOTE*** 4Paws will only consider local adoptions (Northern VA / DC / MD metropolitan area) 4Paws does not adopt to students Kittens under 6 months old need to go to a home that already has another active cat of similar age. Otherwise they need to be adopted with a kitten from their current foster home or a kitten from another 4Paws foster home.

Story
Geisha was left behind by her prior owners when they moved out of an apartment complex in Oxon Hill MD. She struggled to survive on her own until neighbors got help to rescue her. Geisha is a very sweet and affectionate kitty that loves human attention and can be very vocal about it. She purrs happily when petted and likes to snuggled right by her Person's side to chill and watch TV. But she will also chase a wand toy like nobody's business! Geisha does not like to compete with other cats for her Person's attention, so she needs to be the only kitty in the home. She is not good with small children but should be OK with older children. Geisha was born about August 2022. She is spayed, current on vaccines, tested negative for FiV/FeLV, and has been micro chipped.

Story
Nancy is an international rescue; she came from Kabul Afghanistan. Nancy is bonded with her son Sid. Sid is aggressive towards other cats. So since Nancy and Sid need to be adopted together, they cannot go to a home with other cats. She was born in June 2019. She has been spayed, tested negative for FiV/FeLV, and has been microchipped. Her vaccines will be updated prior to adoption.

Story
Sofia has been through a lot in her short life at no fault of her own. Her rescuer took in Sofia's mom and kittens off the streets in Kuwait. Her family was raised among dogs and cats, making her a very confident girl! Sofia has a small, petite frame and is the only white and brown calico cat in the litter. Sofia has overcome so much at a young age. She had 2 seizures at her first adopted home. Her seizures are now controlled by medication. Despite this, she is so chipper, active and forgiving. She is truly a fighter. The only noticeable signs are that she becomes a little sleepy 30 minutes after receiving her medication and her coordination is a bit wobbly while playing with a string toy. She gets along fabulously with a house full of 5 cats in her current foster home. She sleeps next to them and is very confident, even curling up in front of the alpha cat of the group. She has a gift of fitting in wherever she goes. Her favorite thing to do is race up and down the stairs. We call her the water inspector as she races from each water bowl to the next around the home! She has the funniest chirps as she moves around with excitement. Being so quick, her favorite toy is the laser pointer. She loves doing sprint work - it is right up her alley! After playtime, Sofia enjoys sleeping on a bed or stretching out on a heated floor or bed. Sofia would be a great addition to a family who can appreciate her funny little quirks and give a special needs girl a safe space to call her own. However, she should not be adopted into a home with young kids; gentle teenagers would be fine. She would also be great with a confident cat. She won't compete for your attention but loves to be in the mix! Sofia's estimated birthdate is April 2021. She is current on her vaccinations, spayed and microchipped, and tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia. ******* Please note: 4Paws will only consider local adoptions (Northern VA / DC / MD metropolitan area) 4Paws does not adopt to students All kittens under 6mos of age must be adopted into a home that already has another young cat/kitten; otherwise, must be adopted in pairs with a littermate
