Story
Lili is a darling young black and white part Persian female cat. She was rescued from the streets left to fend for herself. How can you not love her big fluffy face with those black and white markings. She looks like a female Sylvester. Lili is so sweet and lovable. She is currently housed with Lola. Lili likes to be petted and doted on. She can sure play with the best of them. We would like to see Lili in a home with another cat. She gets along so well with other felines. Not tested on dogs or kids but should be ok if they are calm and well-behaved. Fostered in Fairfax, VA

Story
Chillie is a 3 year old calico we are thrilled to have. She has beautiful calico patches, some with tabby markings. Chillie’s foster mom raves about her great personality. She is a type A girl and likes to take charge. Chillie plays with her active young fellow fosters like a kitten herself. She is very, very outgoing, super sweet and craves human attention. Resting on a lap is the norm. Not a shy bone in her body. Poor Chillie had a painful mouth making eating difficult. She had a big dental and is gaining her weight back. Chillie would be fine in a busy house. Not tested on dogs but with proper acclimation she should adapt just fine. Please give Chillie a home of her own. Fostered in Fairfax, VA

Story
Annabelle the cat is a stunning, 5-year-old, tortoiseshell beauty with soft swirls of orange and grey that make her truly one of a kind. She came to us looking for a fresh start, and she’s ready for a home where life moves at a gentler pace. Annabelle is a shy, nervous cat who is still learning that people can be safe and kind. In her kennel, she prefers to stay tucked into her cozy spot and watch the world from a distance, taking everything in at her own speed. She’s not the type to rush up and say hello; she’s the quiet observer in the room, noticing every sound and movement. One of the best ways to make friends with Annabelle is through her favorite treat: chicken-with-crab Churu. Offer her a Churu slowly and patiently, and you might see her nose peek out, her whiskers twitch, and her courage grow a little more each day. Those tiny moments are the beginnings of trust.Because of her preference for calm and predictability, we’re recommending a quiet home, possibly where Annabelle can be the only pet, and where her new family will respect her boundaries and let her set the pace. She’ll do best with someone who understands that her progress may be gradual and blesses her with their patience, celebrating the small wins, like relaxing in the same room with you or accepting a treat from your hand. If you have a peaceful home and a patient heart, Annabelle is ready to start over with you, one soft blink and one Churu at a time! This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 14-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff!Be sure to check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Michael R. Frey Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
