Sassy is spunky, sweet, and silly. She will provide you lots of entertainment. She’s down for a quick snuggle or pet and also really enjoys playing! She loves her sister and they do not like to be separated. Marshmello is sweet, shy, and will be your lap warmer when she bonds with you. Both kitties love to sunbathe, play with flirt poles, and chase each other around. Must stay together. Marshy has a history of urine crystals so she’s on a preventative prescription diet.

Relaxed, Cuddly, Sweet Meet Solar Eclipse! Just like her namesake, this girl is rare and special - only about 20% of orange tabbies are female! You'll fall in love with her beautiful coat, her morning cuddles, and her quack-like little meow! Solar Eclipse loves to play when she gets the zoomies, but she's great at entertaining herself with toys and is otherwise a laid-back cat. She can be a little cautious in new situations and may be nervous around dogs, but is also very curious and engaged with her people! She loves to ask for pets and sleep with her humans, and her foster believes she would be good with respectful kids. Don't miss out on this sweet orange girl and get in touch today to come meet her! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Solar Eclipse, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.

Story
Affectionate, Endearing, Confident Some of the best things in life include birdsong in the morning, a great apple, a walk in a sunny park...and our Sunny Park, who is like a little beam of sunshine, wherever she goes! Aptly named, Sunny leads with her happy and warm heart. Super-extra-highly affectionate, she loves people and will always choose to be in the same room with you, just keeping you company while you do your busy human things. Sit down, and she's your snuggle buddy! She could sit in your lap for days while you pet her; she will give your face sweet kisses in return. She is a lap cat, through-and-through! The young kids in her foster home adore her, and Sunny adores them right back. She is friendly with all people, even if she has just met you! Sunny has a curious and inquisitive personality and will spend time bopping around the house, finding interesting things to explore. Her favorite toys are wand toys that you wave around - and the fringe on the edges of a rug! So fun to bat at! We are confident that Sunny has always had a charming, outgoing, and loving nature, and that hasn't changed a bit, despite having mostly-paralyzed back legs. She came to APA! with a bullet lodged in her spine, which might make anyone change their view of life and decide to be cranky; not Sunny! She just motors on, adapting, and loving everyone in her path. As a result of her mostly-paralyzed back legs, Sunny is incontinent. She needs her human to press on her bladder ("manually express") a few times a day to help her go. She is easy to express, and APA! will show you how and make sure you are comfortable with it. Here's a video to show you how easy it can be! bit.ly/CatExpressionDemo She requires some extra care, including feeding her a wet food diet, giving her a sink bath now and then (she loves it!), and keeping an eye on her back legs to make sure they stay abrasion-free as she cheerfully pulls herself around the house with her front legs! The kids in her foster home help care for Sunny by feeding her and playing with her! You can create spaces around the house for her by laying down a towel or blanket, and she will recognize them as "hers", lounging on them while she keeps you company. She is a happy, calm, and content little lady. Sunny's ideal home is with people...people who are home a lot, people who are adults or kids, and any people who could be her new friend! She revels in having her own family to hang out with, to love, to play with, and to love some more. Her humans should be patient and able to create a routine for her, which makes things simpler. Contact APA! for more information and tips! Sunny is such a pretty orange and white tabby, and as a female orange tabby, is rather uncommon! On top of that, she will sometimes give you her over-the-top-cute and very special "silent meow." Hands-down, Sunny is likely the sweetest animal you will ever meet. Contact us today to arrange a meet & greet! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. Story
Class Clown, Exuberant, Cuddly Lambinator (aka Lamby aka Yammy Yam as her foster calls her) is the sweetest, funniest, and goofiest tuxedo girl. This outgoing kitty has a happy and enthusiastic energy that is contagious. She is a one-cat welcome committee to all visitors...meeting newcomers at the door and eager to introduce herself to everyone who comes by! Lamby is an active, adventuresome girl! She climbs, runs and jumps and LOVES playtime. She will make a toy out of anything and even loves to splash around in tubs of water! She does great with kids and adults, and enjoys all forms of pets. She is an absolute lap (and shoulder!) cat and loves to be held. She purrs up a storm each time she's picked up! She absolutely adores playing with other cats, and has made friends with big dogs. Lamby came to APA! with a tail pull injury that left her incontinent. Her foster expresses (squeezes) her bladder three times a day (not a set schedule, anyone can do it), and she wears cute washable diapers to keep the house clean. Lamby is used to it and great for her routine. Check out this video: bit.ly/CatExpressionDemo to see how easy expressing a cat can be. If there were a contest for Best Kitty Personality, we truly think Lamby would win! She cuddles when you want to cuddle with her, she plays when you want to play with her, and she easily accepts meds and bladder squeezes - because for her this is all normal, no big deal. She is such a perfect cat that it is kind of heartbreaking to think that she could be passed over because she needs some special care. Lamby has SO MUCH love to give, a sunny disposition and a happy temperament, and she simply needs wonderful people to share it with! In addition to being the friendliest kitten on the block, Lamby is also the prettiest, with her cute mustache, multicolored paw pads, and snow boots! Lamby would excel in any home with people ready to accept all the love, purrs and fun she has to give! Contact us today to arrange a meet & greet! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. Story
Calm, Sweet, Friendly! Have you met Akasha? When you do, she will treat you like a old friend that she hasn't seen in soooo long. Right off the bat, she's your buddy, she's your pal! She loves to be pet and she loves people. She's a happy girl! And Akasha will play with pretty much any toy you offer her! She's very easy to please. Akasha came to APA! with paresis of her back legs, which means that her back legs don't work the way they should; we have no idea why. Does that keep her from showing her joy? Nope! She will do adorable little kicks with her back legs to show her jubilance when you give her love. The paresis gave Akasha incontinence, which means she needs someone to press on her bladder a few times a day to help her go pee. She seems to think this manual expression of her bladder is another way that humans give her love, and she is happy and sweet when you give her this type of "affection!" As you can tell, in every other way Akasha is a "normal" kitty - affectionate, curious, and a great best friend! Caring for an incontinent cat is easier than you may think. Want proof? Check out this video: bit.ly/CatExpressionDemo Akasha can live with other cats amicably, but prefers to hang out in her own space. She is looking for a loving home with people who will give her snuggles and press on her bladder (which she apparently considers a type of cuddling). Contact us today to arrange a meet & greet! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. Story
Curious, Friendly, Playful With Manx for the Memories, you're actually getting part kitty, part bunny! This adorable, friendly guy hops around like a bunny and even has a cute little bunny tail to match! Manx is super sweet and loves people. He has become his foster's shadow, since he loves to follow her around and prefers not to be alone. Manx doesn't let his bunny-hop gait stop him from playing and running around! He loves playing with catnip toys and his fishing pole and often gets the zoomies. He will make little noises when he's playing or wants attention as his way of telling you how excited or happy he is! Manx is actually a Manx cat, a tail-free orange tabby boy who is extra cute and fuzzy. Along with being a Manx he was born with Manx Syndrome, which means his spine and spinal nerves didn't develop normally; he needs his human to press gently on his bladder twice a day to "express" it and help him go pee. It is super easy once you get the hang of it, and APA! will show you how! Since he's incontinent, Manx requires some extra medical care, which right now includes a regulated diet and manual expression. His foster has him eating Science Diet Gastrointestinal Biome food twice a day and he takes Prazosin twice daily as well. Manx takes his meds no problem and is also super easy to express as long as he's focused on his Churu treat! This routine has been working great for him and his foster! For more information, please contact APA! In foster, Manx lives with another foster kitty and the resident cat and German Shepherd. He loves playing and hanging out with the other foster kitty, but he's gotten the memo that the resident cat isn't super friendly. Manx also likes the dog but hasn't tried to play or cuddle with him. The perfect forever home for Manx is one with people who can continue his routine, which is working great for him (and it's so easy), as well as give him lots of love and attention! He would happily live with other cats and most dogs, but he's really all about his people and just wants to be wherever you are. If you want to meet this little bunny-cat, ask to set up a meet and greet! Caring for an incontinent cat is easier than you may think. Want proof? Check out this video: bit.ly/CatExpressionDemo All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
