Story
Amelia is a senior gal who loves getting skritches and scratches! She will even paw at you or nibble at you to get your attention. She knows what she wants when she wants it--and won't hesitate to let you know when she's ready for a break and some "me time" as she lounges around the house. She enjoys soft blankets and pillows- as well as different forms of enrichment that involve scratching posts. Sadly Amelia was found in poor condition and was subject to neglect and possibly also abuse; has arthritis, so she doesn't jump on counters or surfaces higher than maybe 2' so she won't be climbing on your kitchen island. She enjoys company and just existing near you. She has met other cats and she's 50/50 on them--some are ok and others not a fan. She has lived with other cats and mainly avoids them. She is not too sure on dogs but would probably be ok if they ignore her. Amelia has early kidney disease, which is easily managed with special food and is common in senior cats--she needs a home that can keep her water clean, watch for any related issues (like urinary tract infections), and maybe give her a little tuna water to keep her hydration up. Amelia is also polydactyl (she has extra toes)!

Story
I'm smart, I'm pretty and I'm sassy. Yep, I'm Kahlua. I've been with Houston Cares for over a year now and my foster mom says it's because I'm not sweet and I'm not cuddly. Apparently that's what people want in a cat. When I first came to my foster home, I growled nonstop for 5 days. Then, I decided I was safe, and started letting them pet me but only on my own terms would I lay on them. I figured out that I like men much more than women, and I'm ok with kids, dogs, and babies. If I don't like you, I will not hesitate to let you know.I have a fantastic swing and big paws and swatting is fun for me. My foster mom says I have gorgeous teeth, and she knows because I like to growl at her and show them. Despite all of my odd quirks, she loves me and says she thinks I am adoptable. What can I say, I'm sassy and choosy. I get along with the other cats in my foster home as long as they let me be in charge. Does this bio make me sound like the Purrfect pet for your family? Adopt me!

Story
I am a stunning, beautiful black cat with thick-silky fur. I walk around gracefully with my tail up and question mark at the tip. I am definitely a cats cat. I love to be around other sweet cats that groom me and cuddle with me. I do groom other cats too as I enjoy their company. I might look nervous at times but I am sweet once I trust my care giver. My start in life was rough as I faced aggression by neighborhood kids until I met a grandma that moved where I was living as a stray. Grandma connected me to a cat lover to get me spayed asap. The power of networking got me into CARES adoption program so I didn't have to come back to the life of a stray cat in rural Conroe. I am currently facing heath challenges and need all the support I can get since I need monthly medication and perhaps dental treatment in the future. I have been blessed to find my way out of the streets and continue to be optimistic about finding my way into a forever home with a cat lover.

Story
****** JUNE SPECIAL. ADOPT ME IN JUNE AND MY ADOPTION FEE IS $75.00. ADOPT ME WITH A FRIEND AND OUR ADOPTION FEE IF $140.00****** Toby is 5 ½- months old, fun-loving, & a very playful kitten. He was born to a feral mom & has 5 siblings but because he was a little spicy, he was separated to be more socialized. He has made great progress thanks to his foster family and kitty friends. He loves the other resident cats, especially his foster brother from another mother, Miles. They play great together & I would love for them to be adopted together, but if you have another friendly cat in your household, he will be fine. He does need a cat buddy play with. He has really come out of his shell & is very sweet and loving. He loves pets & is getting more comfortable with being held. He likes to sleep at my feet or between my knees snuggled up with Miles. He will be a great addition to a patient family who will give him time to get used to new people & new surroundings. Toby is litter box trained, current on his vaccinations, combo-test negative, neutered, and micro- chipped. He is good with other cats, kids & maybe a friendly dog (he doesn’t pay attention to the resident dog much) He is ready to find his forever family. Story
My name is Ferris Mewler and while I never starred in a famous movie, I am incredibly entertaining. I have a huge personality, am spunky and sweet, and love everyone. I am playful and love to chase and wrestle my foster brother and sisters. I love to be held and pet and I purr loudly to let you know how happy I am. I like to grab my foster moms face and give her kisses, which she loves. I am very social and will need to be in a home with a feline sibling.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
My name is Poppy and I am a sweet and rambunctious little girl. I love running and wrestling with my brothers and sisters and I am very playful. My foster mom also says I have some of the prettiest coloring she's every seen in a tabby cat. When I was first rescued I was extremely shy. While I am still a little timid, especially around new people, I have come a long way and my foster mom says I am doing better every day. I now love to come up to my foster mom and touch her repeatedly with my paw. When my foster mom picks me up and scratches my back, I thank her by giving her kisses. I would do best in a home with another cat because I am very social. I will need a family who can be patient with me as I learn to trust them, but I promise if you are patient with me I will be the best decision you ever made.
