Story
Moosh is 3-4 years old. He was found on the side of the street when he was younger. He is an extremely affectionate cat, and can sometimes be quite demanding about it. He loves people and interacting with new people. There is need for time to get to used to new people, he loves everybody. From what we have experienced, he is very passive and has no problem with other cats, however he has never been with a dog. He’s hilarious, adorable, affectionate, and sometimes a little aloof.

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Greetings, wonderful humans! I’m Simon, a very dashing Siamese with a story that’s both challenging and heartwarming. I was once a stray, facing tough times and a lot of uncertainty, but thanks to a kind rescuer, I found a second chance. Now, I am eagerly looking for a new, loving home where I can truly settle in a shine. Let me tell you a little about myself: I’m a pumpkin of a Siamese—handsome and full of charm! I absolutely adore being petted and cuddled. My foster family is amazing, and I’m particularly fond of snuggling up with my humans. Blossom, my beautiful calico soulmate, and I are both huge fans of human affection and would rather spend time with you than with any toy. We both LOVE to sleep with our humans! Speaking of Blossom, she’s the love of my life! Meeting her has been the best thing that’s ever happened to me. She’s a delightful cuddle bug who coos as she walks around, and together, we make the perfect pair. We’re two peas in a pod, and separating us is simply not an option. We’re looking for a calm, loving home where we can adjust together and become a cherished part of your life. If you have the space in your heart and home for both of us, you’ll find yourself with the most devoted, loving companions you could ever wish for. With all our love and purrs,Simon & Blossom If you would like to meet your new best friends, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you cannot get it to work, let us know and we will email it to you in a different format. Unless otherwise noted, all Almost Home cats are healthy, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and flea & tick preventative.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. November 1, 2024, 8:13 pm

Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Hello there! I’m Blossom, and my journey started as a stray with some tough times, but fortunately, I was rescued by a kind soul and found my way to a wonderful foster mommy. Whew! What a relief! I’m a darling girl with a soft, cooing voice that you’ll find utterly endearing. I adore being petted and cuddled, and I’m quite the expert at giving massages. Instead of making biscuits, I prefer to stomp on you—trust me, it’s way more enjoyable! I’m a snuggle enthusiast and love sleeping beside you and following you around. While I’m not a fan of being picked up, my foster family says I’m an absolute sweetheart and super loving. But here’s the best part of my story: I’ve found my soulmate, Simon. He’s the love of my life and the one I never want to be without. He’s dreamy, charming, and together we’re simply inseparable. We both adore humans more than toys and are two peas in a pod. So, please, don’t ask to separate us—we belong together! We’re both big fans of eating, treats, and snuggling. You’ll often find us squished into the same cozy cube on the cat tree, just to be close to one another. A calm, loving home where we can adjust at our own pace and let us sleep with you would be perfect for us. If you welcome us into your life, you’ll be one of the luckiest people around, with double the love and affection from two devoted furballs. I’m a tiny, energetic kitten with a big heart, and I need your help to find a forever home—not just for me, but for my sister, Princess Mononoke, too. We’re a package deal, and our bond is so strong that we really don’t want to be separated. Howl here! I’m the most playful kitten you’ll ever meet. In fact, I’m so full of energy that it’s almost impossible to get a good picture of me because I’m always ZOOMING around! I love climbing on cat trees and, once I’m done running, you’ll often find me napping on the very top, usually with my sister Princess Mononoke right by my side. I absolutely adore everyone I meet—people and other cats alike! I’ll play with anything and everyone, and my playful spirit never seems to run out. I’m also a big fan of eating—so much so that we have to keep a close eye on me during breakfast and dinner because I’ll try to steal my sister’s food if given the chance. Princess Mononoke and I are the best of friends. We cuddle together, play together, and nap together. We’ve been through so much in our short lives, and we find so much comfort and joy in each other’s company. I’m not just asking for a home; I’m asking for a family who will welcome us both with open arms and love us as much as we love each other.
