Story
Moosh is 3-4 years old. He was found on the side of the street when he was younger. He is an extremely affectionate cat, and can sometimes be quite demanding about it. He loves people and interacting with new people. There is need for time to get to used to new people, he loves everybody. From what we have experienced, he is very passive and has no problem with other cats, however he has never been with a dog. He’s hilarious, adorable, affectionate, and sometimes a little aloof.

Story
Jinx is very sweet, but very skiddish. He will need time to acclimate to a new home and he really needs to be in a house with minimal pets and other stimulation. He has never attacked any of our other animals, he just runs away. IMPORTANT: he has FOOD ALLERGIES. We have not tested for specific allergens, but on a diet of wet food, no chicken, he does fine and uses the litterbox. We simply cannot keep him on this diet as he eats the food from our other animals. Without being on the diet he has diarrhea, and does not use the litterbox. He is also not fond of our dogs and is just living in fear a lot of the time. Again, he is sweet. Has never harmed our animals or started a fight. He loves to sit in your lap and has a very unique purr. He also needs to be indoors. Thank you for considering Jinx :)

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Meow! My name is Howl, and I’m reaching out with a very special request. I’m a tiny, energetic kitten with a big heart, and I need your help to find a forever home—not just for me, but for my sister, Princess Mononoke, too. We’re a package deal, and our bond is so strong that we really don’t want to be separated. Howl here! I’m the most playful kitten you’ll ever meet. In fact, I’m so full of energy that it’s almost impossible to get a good picture of me because I’m always ZOOMING around! I love climbing on cat trees and, once I’m done running, you’ll often find me napping on the very top, usually with my sister Princess Mononoke right by my side. I absolutely adore everyone I meet—people and other cats alike! I’ll play with anything and everyone, and my playful spirit never seems to run out. I’m also a big fan of eating—so much so that we have to keep a close eye on me during breakfast and dinner because I’ll try to steal my sister’s food if given the chance. Princess Mononoke and I are the best of friends. We cuddle together, play together, and nap together. We’ve been through so much in our short lives, and we find so much comfort and joy in each other’s company. I’m not just asking for a home; I’m asking for a family who will welcome us both with open arms and love us as much as we love each other. Love,Howl & Princess Mononoke If you would like to meet your new best friend(s), contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you cannot get it to work, let us know and we will email it to you in a different format. Unless otherwise noted, all Almost Home cats are healthy, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and flea & tick preventative.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. December 10, 2024, 10:58 pm

I’m a sweet, shy kitten looking for my forever home, and I’m hoping you’ll consider adopting me along with my brother, Howl. We’re an inseparable pair, and we’d be overjoyed to share our lives with you. At first, I might seem a bit reserved and shy, but it only takes me a few days to warm up to new people. If you approach me slowly and gently, I’ll start to feel safe and let you pet me! Food is definitely the way to my heart, so a little treat goes a long way in making friends with me. Once I’m comfortable and know I can trust you, I’ll come right up for cuddles. I love making biscuits on your lap and lying on the couch with you. I’m also a big fan of climbing and being up high, so you’ll often find me lounging on the tallest platform of our cat tree at home. I’m the SOFTEST kitty you’ll ever meet, and I absolutely adore other cats. My brother, Howl, and I are incredibly close. We snuggle and play together all day long, and I can’t imagine life without him. We truly make the perfect pair and bring so much joy to each other. I’m really hoping to find my forever home soon, and it would mean the world to me if I could find a home with you—and with Howl. We’re both affectionate and playful, and we promise to fill your days with love, laughter, and endless purrs. Thank you for considering giving us a chance. We can’t wait to become a part of your family and share our lives with you!
