MEET CARL!2 year old Carl might bear some scars from his life of fending for himself outside, but we aren`t letting Carl`s past define him! This playful and wacky boy was MADE for indoor living with a touch of chaotic flare! Carl`s aesthetic would be a padded room - not necessarily for the reason you think (maybe a little) but mainly because he loves anything he can turn into a comfy bed. We don`t think Carl found too many cushiony surfaces when he was living life on the streets, so he makes sure to take advantage of his newfound indoor living to demand as many beds, blankets, and squishy things as we can find. While Carl is FIV positive, he can live a normal and happy life as an indoor-only kitty. He does enjoy the fresh air and sun in our fenced in catio, but his life of living on the run is thankfully over. Did we mention he is obsessed with beds? Carl has his sassy side, too and loves to play with laser pointers and chase toys. When he is done with playtime, it`s... you guessed it - back to bed.Carl is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and up to date on prevention.Complete an adoption survey at https://www.cognitoforms.com/YorkCountyAnimalControl/petadoptionsurvey. All Adoptions require a Pre-Adoption Interview with a YCAS Adoption Counselor, a meet and greet, and adoption approval. Every adoptable cat is Spayed or Neutered, implanted with a microchip, current on age appropriate vaccinations including a current 1-year Rabies Vaccination, and current on monthly Flea/tick prevention. All pets are behaviorally and medically evaluated prior to being placed up for adoption. The adoption fee is $77.

ADOPT A BARNYARD CAT!Our Barn Cats are healthy, ear tipped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and in need of a new job! All they ask for is daily food, water, veterinary care as needed, shelter in the space they protect, and a mission - they`ll happily provide you with pest control in your barn, shed, or wherever you have a rodent problem! After you pick up your working cat, you will need to provide a safe place for them to acclimate to their new surroundings for 4 to 6 weeks before allowing access to the outdoors. This can be an escape-proof room, an enclosed barn or even an extra large dog crate set up with everything they need. While they are in their safe place, you will need to give them daily food and water plus a litter box and a place to hide. Once the confinement period is over, you can allow them access to the space they are going to protect. Continue to give them the food and water based on the routine that you have already established and be sure to provide them a safe place to hide in inclement weather. There is no adoption fee to adopt a working barnyard cat.Complete an adoption survey at https://www.cognitoforms.com/YorkCountyAnimalControl/petadoptionsurvey.

MEET CLEMENTINE!Clementine is a 9 year old beauty queen full of sugar and sass! Clem is not your average cat - she is a bundle of big personality rolled into one chonky package! This girl will love you and leave you. One minute she is rubbing up to you and being affectionate, and the next second she is on to her next task! She is a lady of few words. She is talkative but doesn`t go on and on, she is affectionate but not over the top, and she is just a little spicy but not too spicy. Think mild salsa - just enough to leave an impression but not so much that you don`t go back for more!Clementine arrived at our shelter due to no fault of her own, and now she is looking for a fresh start. She has previously lived with another low key kitty, her brother Julius (A104693), but hasn`t found another cat she has really clicked with at the shelter. She isn`t interested in playing and running around - that is just WAY too much effort. She wants to lay back, eat, and get some head rubs!Clementine is up to date on vaccines, current on prevention, spayed, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative.Complete an adoption survey at https://www.cognitoforms.com/YorkCountyAnimalControl/petadoptionsurvey. MEET JULIUS!Introducing the thickest man in all the land! If a cat the size of a small dog sounds like your type of bestie, Julius might just be your guy! This sweet boy wants nothing more than to loaf in your lap and roll on his back. Julius is a gentle giant that loves to be cuddled, pet, and adored. Julius is a spectacle meant to be marveled - he is an absolute chonk and will put his full weight against you for some snuggles. When he is tired, he will take his whole body and spread it across his blanket Sistine Chapel style. There is absolutely no one like Julius!Julius has previously lived with other kitties and absolutely loves them, but is fearful of dogs and would prefer to live without them. He is absolutely precious and super affectionate, and would also do well as an only kitty. Julius is neutered, up to date on vaccines, current on prevention, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. All this thick man needs is you!Complete an adoption survey at https://www.cognitoforms.com/YorkCountyAnimalControl/petadoptionsurvey. MEET CASEY!Casey is a 2 year old lovebug with the cutest stubby legs, round body, and an affinity for constantly interrupting your daily tasks with headbutts!Casey came to our shelter as a stray and was absolutely terrified at first. Luckily, our staff and volunteers were persistent and knew that Casey wasn`t feral, but just scared and confused. It didn`t take long for us to find out just how incredibly sweet our Casey actually was - and it just took a few good meals for us to show her that people aren`t that bad! She does need to be the only cat in the home, but the good news is she will be the only one you need! Now, Casey is a confident goofball who loves affection, scratches, and has never let go of her intense love for food! All she needs now is a dinner partner so she never has to dine alone again!Casey is spayed, up to date on shots, FIV/FeLV negative and ready to finally start her next chapter in life - indoors, safe, and loved!Complete an adoption survey at https://www.cognitoforms.com/YorkCountyAnimalControl/petadoptionsurvey. Story
MEET MANDERLYManderly is our certified sensitive king here to claim his throne as your one and only best friend! 2 year old Manderly`s journey with us has been a long one, but that is one of the reasons we love him so much. Manderly arrived at our shelter after literally finding himself between a rock and a hard place - he was stuck between a wall and a pipe outside a home and needed some assistance. Then, a few months later, this handsome boy suffered a urinary blockage at the shelter, something often triggered by stress. The shelter environment had been hard on him (it would be hard on anyone) but when we put Manderly in emergency foster care, he THRIVED. No chaos. No constant loud noises. No perpetual change, Just a soft bed, predictable routines, and someone who loved him. And he did beautifully. Now that Manders is on prescription urinary food back at the shelter, he is doing great and trying his best to be brave in a place that once overwhelmed him. He is stable, happy, and feeling more like himself. He just needs what so many sensitive souls need - a calm home where he can exhale and relax. Manderly isn`t `high maintenance,` he is just a tender-hearted guy whose body tells us when he is overwhelmed and is on a prescription food to prevent any issues. In a real home, he blossoms. Shelter life is loud and unpredictable, and some cats can`t cope with that kind of chaos. Manderly is built for quiet evenings, steady expectations, and someone who understands that peace and comfort prove to be a powerful medicine. Our boy just needs a low-stress, single pet home where he can feel relaxed, safe, and most importantly, LOVED. He is FIV/FeLV negative, up to date on vaccines, current on prevention, microchipped, neutered, and ready for his calm place to land!Complete an adoption survey at https://www.cognitoforms.com/YorkCountyAnimalControl/petadoptionsurvey.
