Story
Hi, my name is Izzy!I have been patiently waiting for my fur-ever home since December 2023! The GHS family thinks I`m awesome because I can play `hard to get` but I am a big softy once you get to know me! Some of my favorite things include catnip, catnip, and more catnip; if you bring me a pinch or two, I`ll show you my wild and goofy side! I am a low-key lady who likes to spend the rest of my day lounging when I`m not being loved on by the shelter staff. My new family should know that I have a progressive FeLV infection, which means I need to be an indoor cat. Feline leukemia (FeLV) is contagious to other cats, and therefore, would recommend consulting with your veterinarian on risks of adding me to a feline-friendly home. My new family should be prepared that I may start to show symptoms related to FeLV or take longer to recovery from ailments that wouldn`t be a `big deal` to other cats. I can still live a very happy life in a quiet environment and with regular veterinary care, so the GHS recommends speaking to your vet prior to adopting me. I would make a wonderful addition to a calm and cuddly home - take me home today!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: Teenagers or older respectful children please!OTHER CATS: Potentially, if they are also FELV + and with a slow and careful introductionDOGS: Potentially, with a calm, respectful dog.FIRST-TIME CAT OWNERS: Potentially, if you have some cat experienceSOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...ACTIVITY LEVEL: Low-mediumAM I ON A PRESCRIPTION DIET? Story
Hello, my name is Felix!I`m what you`d call a `senior` in human years, but don`t let that fool you. I`m as spry and friendly as ever. I`m a simple cat, really. I adore lounging in my bed, taking long, satisfying naps. I`m the type to keep you company, quietly observing as you go about your day. My sweet, mellow demeanor makes me a perfect companion. I came to GHS with a chronic skin allergy - feline eosinophilic granuloma complex - whoa, that`s a lot of big words! Don`t let that scare you, my friends at GHS helped me get the care I need and now I`m on a once a day medication that is really helping me. I am looking for a family that can continue my care and speak with my Vet regularly to ensure I remain my happiest and healthiest! If you`re looking for a low-key, loving friend, I`m your cat. Adopt me, and let`s make beautiful memories together.MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: I could be a good match with respectful children.OTHER CATS: I could be a good match with another friendly cat, after a slow introduction.DOGS: I could be a good match with a calm, cat-savvy dog after a proper introduction.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...FIRST TIME CAT OWNERS: YesACTIVITY LEVEL: Low-mediumSPECIAL DIET/MEDICATION: Yes, Prednisolone for my skin conditionIf you think I would make a good match for your home, click the `Adopt me` button to apply!

My days are filled with sweet cuddles and mellow moments. I`m known for my air biscuits, a secret recipe passed down from generations of feline chefs. Why should you adopt me? Because I promise to fill your life with love, warmth, and endless biscuits. My new family should know that I am FIV+, but it doesn`t slow me down one bit - my shelter friends recommend my new owner(s) research FIV or consult with their vet before submitting an application!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: I could be a good match calm, mature children.OTHER CATS: I could be a good match with another friendly cat, after a slow introduction - speak with your Veterinarian about the potential risks given my FIV+ status.DOGS: I could be a good match with a calm, cat-savvy dog after a proper introduction.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...FIRST TIME CAT OWNERS: Yes, and experience with shy cats would be an asset.ACTIVITY LEVEL: Low-mediumIf you think I would make a good match for your home, click the `Adopt me` button to apply!

Story
Hiya! My name is Miki!I`ve spent my days in this cozy shelter, becoming quite the expert at cuddling and making friends. My days are filled with gentle purrs and soft rubs against friendly legs. I can`t resist seeking out people, their presence fills me with joy. I`m known for my gentle nature and friendly demeanor, always ready to share a warm, loving moment. I have lived with cats before and enjoyed some kitties, but not others - I could potentially be friends with a calm cat after a slow introduction. My Vet says I need to drink more - I`m so busy cuddling I forget to have a sip of water, silly me! - so I hope my new family will have lots of water sources and fountains to encourage me to drink. Why should you adopt me? Because I promise to fill your life with purrs, cuddles, and unconditional love.MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: I could be a good match with calm children.OTHER CATS: I could be a good match with another calm and respectful cat, after a slow introduction.DOGS: I could be a good match with a calm, cat-savvy dog after a proper introduction.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...FIRST TIME CAT OWNERS: YesACTIVITY LEVEL: MediumIf you think I would make a good match for your home, click the `Adopt me` button to apply!

Story
Grayden was a stray on a farm and is nervous of people, although he is allowing the staff to pet him now. He likes to hide in a safe place. He is a shy cat that needs time to get comfortable with people. Because of his outdoor life and probable fights with other male cats, he has tested positive for the FIV virus. Feline Immuno-deficiency Virus (FIV) is a disease that only affects cats and cannot be transmitted to humans or other animals. Grayden has been with us since January 2021.If you would like to make an appointment to meet him, please contact the shelter for an appointment at 519-833-2287 or email info@uppercredit.com
