Story
Mr. Tom is 3 years old and we took him in to help find her a suitable home. He is a mix of American Shorthair and some Tortoiseshell. He's been spayed, neutered, and has all of his shots. Mr. Tom is litterbox trained. He's a playful, strong, loving lap cat. He loves his scratching posts and chasing cat toys. He is scared of dogs and other cats, so it's preferred to have a home by himself. We can also accommodate flea medicine if requested.

Story
Kit is a friendly cat! We adopted her from a camp ground that was closing. She is mostly an outdoor cat who we enjoy letting her indoors for attention and naps. We had issues with mice getting into our home prior to owning her but no longer! She has had kittens since adopting and we are not able to keep up with all the cost and commitment of so many animals.

Story
Meet Chaos! Chaos came to the rescue as her owner could no longer care for her due to life circumstances. Chaos is an 11 year old lovely lady. Despite being older, she has quite the chipper personality. Most of the time, the moment Chaos sees her foster mom she comes running with the cutest little meows following. The other bit of the time, she’s taking a nap in a comfy bed and waiting for her to come give her post nap head scratches. This sweet little baby wishes to live a simple and happy rest of her life. She wants to find someone that can sit down and watch some TV with her, someone to carry a conversation with (yes she talks back), and most importantly someone who can give her the best last years of her life. Chaos was raised with her sister who has since passed away. Occasionally they would be buddies, but most of the time Chaos minded her own business. She takes little to no interest in the other cats in her foster home. She most certainly doesn’t appreciate overly energetic or pushy cats. She can exist quite well with calmer cats who also mind their business. Chaos does not mind calm dogs, but does not appreciate rambunctious dogs. Through her vetting, Chaos had a dental done very recently and all dental issues were addressed. She eats dry food just fine, but has an affinity for wet food! The fancy feast extra gravy lovers is her favorite- don’t you dare give her paté though. She’s better than that. As a kitten Chaos was very unfortunately declawed. Her first 6-8 months in the rescue she struggled to poop in the litter box. She always, always, always peed in it though. We had her feet x rayed to check if she had any calcium deposits or anything growing on her feet causing her pain. It turns out her declaw was botched to a degree and will continue to cause her lifelong discomfort when walking on harder surfaces/substrates (litter). We decided to stray away from clay litter with her and moved to Naturally Fresh bamboo and walnut litter. She hasn’t had an accident since. If you would be interested in being Chaos’s new best friend in her golden years, submit an application at www.cassidyscritters.com and someone will be in touch shortly.

Story
Meet Marisol and Maximus! These two sweet babies came to us when a person who does TNR had them at the clinic and afterwards they were going to be dropped off at a barn. We saw their faces and knew they were destined for so much more! They've been in their foster home for roughly 7 months and are now one year old. When they first came to us, Mary and Max were extremely shy but still welcomed love and pets. Over time, this bonded pair have become complete love bugs. Sometimes at a loud noise, new stimulus, or new people they still cower away for a few minutes- but they’re sure to come back around and get as close as they can to you. We wouldn’t describe these two as lap cats, but definitely velcro cats! When you enter their space they come up to you curiously seeking pets and affection. Mary is fairly confident in herself and doesn’t get spooked as often and Max. She’ll walk up, present herself, and demand you give her scritches. She has such a calm, cool, and collected demeanor about her. Max can be slightly more apprehensive than Mary, but he will under all circumstances chase you around with his tail shaking in anticipation of getting love. Although he seems timid initially, he in particular loves hard and firm pets and scratches. He’ll lean into your hands and hope you don’t pull away… ever lol. These two absolutely adore each other and where you’ll find one, you’ll find the other. They like to nap, play, eat, and snuggle together all day every day! They’re still fairly young, but they don’t obtain the high energy most kittens do. They’re quite laid back and prefer to sit on a cat tower with one another or look out the window and gaze at things passing by. Both of these kitties absolutely love other cats! They spend all their time with their foster friends and can’t get enough of them. Due to their more apprehensive nature, we don’t recommend they be placed in a home with children under 8 years of age unless your child truly understand cats spaces, and respecting their bodies and boundaries. They don’t mind being picked up in short increments and it really helps them learn to trust their people when the person doesn’t just abruptly intrude on their space by grabbing, lifting, etc. We recommend a calmer household for these two where they can really blossom into the full version of themselves with a patient and loving owner. If you’re interested in this stunning pair, submit an application at www.cassidyscritters.com or submit an inquiry here with your email/phone number attached so we can reach out!

Story
Meet Rome! The beefiest of boys!! Rome came to the rescue after a kind person tried adopting him into a home. It was reported he was having accidents and even worse, showing human/other cat aggression. Upon vetting it was discovered Rome had coccidia. Since this was treated, he had had no issues with having accidents. He’s excellently litter trained and takes pride in keeping his area clean and well maintained. As far as displaying human aggression and cat aggression, the previous owner was correct. Right off the rip Rome presented himself as a very confident and in charge man. He came from a colony before going into his first home, so he likely sees his territory has his and held some authority there. Even with EXTREMELY slow introductions, barriers in between, constant supervision- Rome is simply stated not cat friendly. He will not tolerate another cat in his space. When it came to his foster mom, Rome was apprehensive at first. He displayed signs of fear related aggression but over time that eased up. Now, the second he sees (or hears) his foster mom he starts meowing dramatically for her attention. He absolutely adores pets, head scratches, tolerates being picked up in short increments, and willingly goes into a carrier. When Rome is done with your attention he will let you know. He will simply walk away or turn his body away from you. He’s extremely independent. One fault with the love that Rome has learned to develop is that he’s a big love biter. He will absolutely use his (big and beefy) paws to grab your hands or arms to bring them to him, and also may give you a love nibble. He has never broken skin or shown aggression when doing this, he just can’t contain himself and has to get a small nibble in. Rome was trialed inside with his foster. It didn’t work. He was not happy. The goal was to rehabilitate him and get him a wonderful inside home. During his time inside Rome would after pace back and forth wanting to get outside, and if he wasn’t doing that- he was staring out a window. His foster mom lives in the city and can’t allow him to roam the way he needs. She had a shed built, and attached to it is a play yard where he has 24/7 access to go outside in a safe area when he pleases. Rome spends a lot of his time outside romping around, playing with his fake mice, and just watching the critters and nature pass by. He’s happiest this way. We believe Rome would be best suited as someone’s very well taken care of outside cat, or better yet- barn cat. Rome is an in hunter by nature. You can see it when he plays. Nothing can hold him back from moving around quicker than anything we’ve seen and extremely stealthily hunting his toys/outside critters. With those parameters of his placement- we’re also seeking someone with experience in cats with social issues, cats from colonies, or well cared for barn cat experience. If you’re interested in Rome, submit an application at www.cassidyscritters.com and we’ll be in touch shortly.
