Story
Meet Asher, a gentle soul with a heart full of love. Her world is one of soft whispers and gentle strokes, preferring the quiet corners of life. Though she might be shy, don't mistake her caution for indifference. She's merely taking her time to trust, to open up. Once she does, her love is all-encompassing. She adores being petted, her purrs a testament to her contentment. Every stroke, every gentle word, brings her out of her shell a little more. With patience, Asher will reward you with a bond that is deep and meaningful. Adopt Asher and discover the joy of a quiet love, the beauty of a friendship that asks for nothing but patience and gentle care. The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Story
Sugar is available for foster to adopt. Please contact arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com for more info. Sugar is as sweet as they come! She enjoys soaking up all the attention she can get, especially chin scratches and face rubs. Her voice is tiny and she drools when she's happy. She often likes to explore and do her own thing, and she will come to to you to sit on your lap for attention. Just as much as she loves attention, she loves to play! She enjoys the mice with the beads inside that rattle. She goes nuts for them! When she's done playing, she enjoys curling up in a fuzzy blanket and taking a nap. Although she's sweet, Sugar does prefer to be the only cat in a home with older children or adults only. If you're interested in meeting Sugar, please stop by during open hours. Story
Lily is estimated to be less than two years old. She was brought to ARF in May as a stray momma, along with her kittens. She has spent some time in one of our loving foster homes. This sweet petite girl starts off a little shy, but she is an affectionate, playful kitty. We think Lily will do best as the only cat in her new home. Lily has tested FIV+, but please do not allow that to deter you! FIV cannot be transferred to people or to dogs. It is typically transmitted between outdoor cats who are competing for limited resources and it is usually transmitted through deep bite wounds. It is not uncommon for the shelter to be caring at any given time for one or more FIV+ cats while they await forever homes and we have seen umpteen FIV+ cats successfully placed in forever adoptive homes. FIV+ cats can live a normal quality of life. Lily is available via adoption consultant due to her FIV status to ensure that her adopter is clear about what FIV is and so the adopter can ask any questions that they may have regarding it. Please email arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com for more information. Story
This three-year-old panther is a very special cat. Our entire volunteer team has fallen in love with this boy's curious and playful nature. He loves to be in the company of people, to play and to nuzzle. He's as happy climbing and exploring as he is settling into a patch of sunshine to watch the birds and critters outside. Liberty was received as a stray and we know little of his past. He has twice found his family but was unable to adjust. He sees other animals and humans as fellow cats to be rumpused with and doesn't always understand what is and isn't acceptable behavior when playing. Liberty needs to be in a home without younger children or other animals. This wonderful companion cat requires a structured environment where he can be safe and loved within boundaries. Liberty is a very special cat. He just needs a special family. Will that be you? Liberty is available by consultant. To schedule an appointment contact: arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com We are open Tuesday through Friday 3:30pm-6:30pm AND Saturday and Sunday 1-4pm. Thank you for considering adoption of a shelter animal in need!

Story
Meet Rayna, a young cat full of warmth and kindness. Though a tad shy, her sweetness is undeniable. She's a gentle purrer, her soft hums a soothing melody that could turn any rough day around, especially when Churro is involved. Rayna adores the company of other cats, basking in their presence and playfulness. Her love for feline companionship makes her an excellent addition to a home with an existing cat, especially one that can help her adjust. Her gentle nature and quiet demeanor make her a wonderful companion for someone who will give her time and patience to settle in. Adopting Rayna is not just bringing a pet home, it's welcoming a friend who will shower you with unconditional love and loyalty. Story
In July, Selena arrived with her brothers Ricky and Enrique. They were surrendered for adoption. While her brothers were adventurous and outgoing, Selena is much more hesitant and skeptical about her surroundings. We think she would do best in a home with a confident cat to show her the ropes and to help her settle in. Selena has had the benefit of spending time in two of our loving foster homes. Both of her brothers have been adopted and it is now Selena's turn. She needs someone willing to give her the time and space needed for her to feel safe and to allow her to get to know her people at her own pace when she is ready. She will do best in a Zen-like household. Could you be that gentle and patient someone who is willing to give her that chance? The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com.
