Story
Looking for a majestic house panther to call your own? Daphne may be the one you’ve been waiting for! This striking black beauty arrived at our shelter in mid-March after being transferred from an overcrowded Ohio shelter. Since then, she’s been treated for an ear infection, spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She’s now all set to find her "purr-ever" home. Daphne may be a little guarded and skeptical of new surroundings at first, so she’ll need an adopter who will give her the time and space she needs to feel safe and secure. Once she knows she can trust you, we believe her true personality will shine! Patience and understanding are key for this lovely lady, but the reward of a loyal, affectionate companion will be well worth it. After all, every house panther has a mysterious side! As for her name, Daphne has an enchanting origin. It comes from the Greek myth of the nymph who transformed into a laurel tree to escape Apollo's pursuit. In this way, Daphne symbolizes grace, resilience and the power of self-protection – much like this lovely girl who is learning to trust in her own time. Are you ready to open your heart and home to Daphne? Adopt her today, and you’ll have a stunning and loyal house panther to share your life with! You can visit her during open hours Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!

Story
Kelly is a stunning cat who came to us from a local grassroots organization dedicated to rescuing street cats and giving them the opportunity for a better life. After spending some time on her own, she’s now ready to find a loving, forever home where she can truly shine. Kelly is a striking tortoiseshell cat with a beautiful mix of rich oranges, blacks and browns that make her absolutely captivating. Tortoiseshell cats like Kelly are often known for their unique and vibrant coats, but there's also a bit of mysticism that surrounds them. It’s said that torties bring good luck, happiness and positive energy to the homes they inhabit. Some even believe that their coats represent a balance of the sun (orange) and the moon (black), symbolizing harmony and protection. While Kelly’s past may have been uncertain, one thing we know for sure is that she’s ready to embrace the love of a forever family. Could Kelly be your lucky charm? The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Story
ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED! Thanks to a generous benefactor, the adoption fee for Liberty will be covered! This three-year-old panther is a very special cat. Our entire volunteer team has fallen in love with this boy's curious and playful nature. He loves to be in the company of people, to play and to nuzzle. He's as happy climbing and exploring as he is settling into a patch of sunshine to watch the birds and critters outside. Liberty was received as a stray and we know little of his past. He has twice found his family but was unable to adjust. He sees other animals and humans as fellow cats to be rumpused with and doesn't always understand what is and isn't acceptable behavior when playing. Liberty needs to be in a home without younger children or other animals. This wonderful companion cat requires a structured environment where he can be safe and loved within boundaries. Liberty is a very special cat. He just needs a special family. Will that be you? Liberty is available by consultant. To schedule an appointment contact: arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com We are open Tuesday through Friday 3:30pm-6:30pm AND Saturday and Sunday 1-4pm. Thank you for considering adoption of a shelter animal in need!

Story
Martha is a sweet and resilient tabby who was found as a stray by a kind-hearted Good Samaritan. She spent her early days braving the lonely and cold streets, but now that she’s been spayed and cared for at the shelter, Martha is ready to leave the harsh Ohio winter weather behind and find a forever home filled with love and warmth. Martha has just recently been made available for adoption, so our shelter volunteers are just getting to know her. She may need a little time to adjust to her new surroundings, but once she feels comfortable, she’ll show you just how affectionate and loyal she can be. She’s done with the cold and she’s eager to experience the comfort and safety of a real home—one where she can curl up in a cozy spot and feel the warmth of love and care. Martha would thrive in a home that offers patience as she adjusts and she’s sure to make a wonderful addition to the right family. If you’re looking for a sweet and loving cat to give a second chance, Martha is ready to meet you! Come by the shelter and spend some time with her in one of our "get acquainted" rooms to see if she is the right fit for your family.
