Story
DOB:  12/20/2022 If you’re looking for a cat with some serious cattitude, Reese is for you! Reese and her sister recently left the rough and tumble of the outdoor lifestyle for a more posh indoor life. It’s been an exciting, but at times scary, adjustment for her. The sass required to be an outdoor kitty has, shall we say, stuck with Reese a bit making for quite a fun purrrrsonality. While those HUGE green eyes might. Come meet me at the cage free Adoption Center! All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. **If interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process. Due to the large number of inquiries received, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.**January 22, 2025, 5:39 pm

Story
FELV+DOB:7/29/2022 Brahms had such a rough start. He had a family but they moved and couldn't take him so they gave him to another family. Then they discovered they had allergies and couldn't keep him. Not long after coming to us he was diagnosed with fip. Of course he started treatment right away. The meds worked great and he has fully recovered. During post treatment labs he was found to be felv+. What a roller-coaster for this guy. But Brahms is happy, playful, loves attention and would give anything for a home if his own. Brahms, the ebony-hued feline virtuoso, was born on July 29, 2022, and he's ready to compose a symphony of love and warmth in a forever home. His journey to find a family was anything but a simple melody - rescued from the shadows of a euthanasia list, Brahms' life was saved by compassionate hearts who believed in giving every note a chance to be heard. Saved from the brink, Brahms found refuge with individuals whose hearts were bigger than their ability to keep him. Due to allergies, they made the difficult decision to part ways with this furry maestro, opening the door for Brahms to find a home where his love could be fully appreciated. This dapper gentleman is a connoisseur of affection, reveling in the joy that comes with a gentle touch.  Are you in search of a cuddle buddy who can turn the simplest moments into a beautiful sonata of companionship? Look no further than Brahms. Visit him today, and let the symphony of his purrs serenade your heart. **This cat is currently in a foster home and arrangements can be made for a meeting once you have applied with us. Story
DOB: 12/30/2021 Listen up, humans. Angelica isn’t here to impress you. She’s not going to prance around, begging for attention. No, no—she’s got better things to do, like hiding in her favorite closet, where the world makes sense, and no one is asking her to “be social.” She was rescued from outside, and let’s just say… she’s still processing all of this “indoor life” business. It’s not that she doesn’t appreciate the effort—it’s just that trust takes time, and Angelica is on her own timeline. Rushing her? Not happening. But give her patience, a quiet home, and the space to feel safe, and maybe—just maybe—she’ll grace you with her presence. If you respect a cat with boundaries, understand the art of playing the long game, and are willing to let Angelica be Angelica, then congratulations—you just might be worthy. Come meet me at the cage-free Adoption Center! All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. **If interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process. Story
DOB: 10/17/2010 Meet Nicolette, a resilient and sweet tabby senior searching for a peaceful forever home where she can truly shine in her golden years. Her story began on the streets, where she was trying to survive until a kind person brought her to Colony Cats and Dogs. At 14 years old, Nicolette amazed us all with her youthful spirit and her determination to enjoy life. Nicolette has settled well in her foster home, and her foster describes her as an “easy keeper.” She isn’t picky about food or litter, and she has no obvious health issues. Her shiny, soft coat and playful nature make it hard to believe she’s a senior cat. She loves string toys, catnip, and zooming through tunnels—she even gets the zoomies every night! She’s incredibly engaging, following her foster around the house, supervising cooking sessions from the kitchen counter, and eagerly greeting them at the door after work. While Nicolette is affectionate in her own way—she’ll happily curl up in your lap for hours—she’s also independent and sassy. She loves pets and scratches but isn’t shy about politely letting you know when she’s had enough. Her chatty personality is endearing, even if her vocal moments can be a bit... persistent. She also has a small, adorable deformity on her front paw that only adds to her unique charm. Nicolette is looking for a calm, loving home where she can be the queen of the castle or live with other easygoing cats. She has so much love to give and so many playful, joyful moments left to share. Will you be the one to give Nicolette the peaceful, forever home she deserves? **This cat is currently in a foster home and arrangements can be made for a meeting once you have applied with us. Story
FIV+DOB: 8/2017  Meet Vagabond! a charming and reserved feline looking for a special home where he can truly shine. This sweet boy may take some time to warm up, but once he feels safe, he rewards patience with gentle affection. Though he's on the skittish side and prefers a calm environment, his endearing little sounds will steal your heart. Vagabond coexists peacefully with a female foster, showcasing his friendly nature. While he may not be a cuddle bug right away, he has the potential to become a devoted companion, especially as the one-and-only cat in a loving home. With his striking black coat adorned with a few charming white hairs on his chest, vagabond is not just cute—he's a delightful addition waiting for the right person to give him the time and space he needs. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus positive cats can live normal lives both in quality and duration. They do take special care in terms of monitoring them for signs of infection.  FIV can be passed from cat to cat via deep bite wounds, but not from casual contact so positive cats can live with negative cats without the fear of spreading FIV as long as they get along and are spayed/neutered. For more information about FIV – feline immunodeficiency virus visit this website: https://bestfriends.org/resources/fiv-cats-faqs-feline-immunodeficiency-virus  **This cat is currently in a foster home and arrangements can be made for a meeting once you have applied with us. Story
DOB: 1/19/2022 Yeti is no ordinary feline. His pure white fur seems to shimmer like freshly fallen snow, blending seamlessly with the soft blankets where he’s often found resting. But don’t be fooled by his serene appearance—beneath that tranquil exterior lies a creature of untold mysteries and hidden depths. Yeti is a master of stealth, often disappearing into the folds of a couch or the shadows of a sunbeam, only to reappear when you least expect it. His favorite pastime? Napping. But don’t let that fool you into thinking he’s just a lazy cat—Yeti’s naps are more like strategic retreats, moments of quiet contemplation as he plots his next move. Though he’s a creature of solitude, Yeti is not without a heart. Those who have earned his trust speak of a gentle soul who, once coaxed out of his sleepy reverie, reveals a loving and affectionate nature. He may be a little reserved at first, but with time and patience, Yeti will emerge from the shadows to become your devoted companion. Come meet me at the cage free Adoption Center !!
