Checkers Not long ago, I was someone’s sweet, playful kitten. They must have seen how adorable I was, and told themselves that they were meant to be my family. They bought me toys and food and a litter box . . . but something changed. I’m a cat, so I don’t understand the ways of the humans. All I know is that one day, I went outside, and when I came back home . . . there was no home. My family was gone, and they’d left me behind. I’m a resilient guy, but I’m not made to survive on my own. Last winter, some nearby humans provided food and a shelter, helping me to survive those weeks and weeks of bitter cold. Then the inevitable happened: I got hurt. Thanks to the Forever Friends Foundation, I got rescued in time. Now I’m healthy, neutered, and indoors. I’m cool with the foster humans. I let them pet me and trust them. One of my FAVORITE things is to watch the Birdie TV!!!! Just look at my picture!! I’m waiting for my family to come and get me. Not the old family, but my real family – my forever family that will love me and never leave me behind. I’ll know when I meet them. I’ll know when I go home. I’m hoping the 3 leaf clover on my back will finally bring me some good luck and I’ll finally be able to stop being scared, and once again become the playful, happy little dude I was born to be.
