Story
Patches is 6 years old, I got her from a friend in high school to be an outdoor cat, however here recently that has had to change due to her being diagnosed as a pre-diabetic earlier this year. She keeps to herself a lot but will let you know when she wants attention she has always been this way. Patches does have to be on a lower carb food. She is allowed to have treats but only a few per day. She is not on a prescription for insulin as long as her blood sugar is under control. I am looking for someone who has had experience with cats and knows when something is up and can take her to the vet when needed. Patches is very timid and shy but she will voice when it’s time to eat.

Story
Born on May 5, 2025, Ceejay (short for Cocoa Junior) is a spirited male half-Persian kitten who is affectionate and adventurous. (His mother is a tabby, and his father is a Persian.) He enjoys being held, patted on the head, and stroked on his back. He stands out in that he takes the lead with his siblings: If they are up to something, Ceejay is usually the leader. Ceejay does not meow, but when he is upset, he makes a raucous noise. That noise may be a good thing: It may scare away intruders. He is an indoor and outdoor kitten. Ceejay has had the rabies, distemper (aka FVRCP), and feline leukemia virus (FeLV) vaccines. In addition, he has been neutered and microchipped. We have several pets and are downsizing. Thus, we want to find a good home for Ceejay.

Story
We have several pets and are downsizing. Cocoa is a healthy tabby who was born around mid-March of 2024. She has had the rabies, distemper (aka FVRCP), and feline leukemia virus (FeLV) vaccines, and she has been spayed and microchipped. (She has had two healthy sets of kittens, who have all been weaned.) She is an indoor and outdoor cat and a good mouser. She can be affectionate to us her owners, but she is not the best of friends with our other female cat. That said, if you have a female cat already, Cocoa may not be the best fit for your home.

Story
Ace was at an abandoned home with no food or water for majority of his life. When I rescued him he weighed 2.5lbs at 16 weeks old and was supposed to be 5lbs by that age. I nurtured him back to an appropriate weight for his age and now Ace is 1 year and 3 months old weighing at 11 lbs. I am looking for him to go to a home that has other animals because he has been around dogs and other cats and does really well once he gets familiar to them he just does not do very well alone. Ace is very spunky and sweet, he will rub his face against yours and sometimes gives kisses. He loves to look out the window and watch the birds and squirrels.

Story
Meet Layla This beautiful 4-year-old tabby and white girl with stunning green eyes is looking for a second chance at forever. Layla was adopted a few years ago, but sadly found herself back in the local shelter after her family had to surrender her. Understandably, Layla is a bit reserved at first, but beneath that quiet exterior is a gentle soul who just wants to feel safe and loved again. She’s all about the simple pleasures—mealtime, cozy naps, and the occasional window view. With her thick, plush coat, Layla will need regular brushing (which she enjoys once she’s comfortable!). A calm home where she can settle in at her own pace would be the perfect fit. If you’re looking for a serene and loyal companion, Layla is ready to share her quiet love with you. Apply to adopt at hsdavie.org/cats.

Story
Meet Minnie! Minnie is a 6-year-old orange short-haired beauty with a heart full of love. At first, she can be a little shy—when she arrived at her foster home, she tucked herself away under a cabinet. But within a day, she realized she was safe and decided to join the family. Since then, she’s been a total sweetheart who just wants to cuddle and soak up affection. Minnie gets along with some cats but prefers to choose her friends, so she’d do well as an only cat or with laid-back feline companions. She has perfect litter box habits, is spayed, and is completely ready to move into her forever home. She loves her daily treat of canned food and has her own little “apartment” where she naps until her foster mom comes in—then she happily emerges for pets and love. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who will make herself at home in your heart, Minnie is your girl! Apply to adopt at hsdavie.org/cats
