Story
Meet Jozi! Jozi is our resident Domestic Short Hair sweetheart and her favorite thing is to be pet! Whether she's sitting on your lap or your just giving her all the love while she lounges on her perch, Jozi would be content to get all the attention all day long. Majority of the time, Jozi is perched high up on the tower where she sprawls out and enjoys her cat naps or she overlooks the other rooms where she keeps an eye on all the humans and dogs. One super cute thing Jozi does is she scoops at her kibble with her paws and tries to eat with her hands. She especially loves to eat when she has company in the room. It's like she wants to have her meals with her favorite humans and she'll happily greet you before heading over to chow down. Jozi likes to play with the feathers and ribbons and once she's down, she'll stretch out ready to get all the pets you have to offer! Jozi is an absolute sweetheart of a cat and has been waiting for her furever home so stop by today to meet this loveable bug! If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! Story
ABOUT CLEO! Meet Cleo, our beautiful one-year-old tabico! This sweet girl came to HAP as a stray, so not much is known about her past. While this has been a big change for her, she's settling in to the spoiled kitty lifestyle very well! Cleo is a little shy at first, but once she warms up, it's snuggle central! She is a super affectionate girl who loves chin scratches and butt rubs! She hasn't been too into playing yet, but we've seen her eyeing up the toys! *Cleo has lived with other cats, but doesn't seem to like them very much. Because she is a little shy, we recommend she goes to a home with no dogs and older children. ****If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Story
Meet Sheleg! Sheleg was brought to HAP when her owner could no longer take care of her and she's already become a volunteer and staff favorite! She's settled in very well in the free roaming cat room and is our official welcome cat as she comes right out the moment someone comes into the room in search of pets and affection! Sheleg is very curious and loves to play with the different toys in the room. When she's not out and about enjoying cuddles or lap time with her humans, she also likes to climb on top of the towers and 'wash the windows' with her paws! It's the silliest thing. Sheleg is a very affectionate cat and would love to find a home where her new family can shower her in all the love! If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. Story
Meet Shug! If you're looking for a cat that's as sweet as shugar - look no further than Shug! Shug is our resident 1 year old female calico believe it or not. She recently came to HAP when her owner was no longer able to take care of her and she's starting to settle into our free roaming cat room. Shug is a little on the shy side so she would do best in a home with another cat that will let her have her space when she wants. She would also love a family that gives her a little extra TLC and help build her confidence to grow into the best cat she can be! Shug likes to climb up onto the cat towers, especially to tune into our cat tv channel, and she does enjoy playing with the feathers and chasers as well. Shug's warmed up to a couple volunteers and staff members and will seek out affection from them - her favorites are chin scratches! So stop by today to see if you need a little extra Shug in your life! If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Story
We took in Nunchucks 6 years ago when his owner could no longer keep him due to a move. He is very affectionate, great with kids, dogs, and other cats. He loves sitting on laps and giving hugs! He is healthy, and up to date on vaccinations. We need to rehome him sadly because my daughter’s allergies have gotten worse. We are searching for a loving home for him where he can continue to thrive.

Story
This kitten has just arrived! They have come to us on transport from a shelter partner, were found as stray, or surrendered to our care. When kittens arrive to us we are typically unsure of their full background, litter box habits, how they are with handling, or how much socialization with humans/animals they have received. Kittens require a significant amount of patience and training to learn how to behave properly in a home. The first few months of having a kitten is a critical time to improve socialization and help your kitten become confident. Exposing your kitten to all kinds of touch, sounds, people, and animals can ensure a well-socialized adult cat. Remember, kittens aren’t born knowing how to live in a human’s world, it is up to you to teach them how to make good decisions in a positive and caring manner. The more positive interactions they have in their first year of life will set them up for better behavior in the future.
