Story
ABOUT MORNING Morning is about 5 years old and came to HAP when his owners could no longer keep him. Understandably, after living in a home, he had some reservations and nerves in the shelter. Morning has since opened up to our staff, proving to be the snuggliest boy. He craves attention and affection from his human friends now. When he's not curled up in his cozy bed, he can usually be found exploring our playroom and watching the birds. Morning usually prefers self-play and enjoys his 'me time'. He loves to bat around puff balls or shiny toys the most. Morning is sure to let you know when he wants something, with a sweet meow. He has met other cats and does not have a lot of patience for them, so a home without other cats is preferable. If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
ABOUT ELMIRA Elmira will steal your heart away with one meow! She is a 6 year old mature beauty with a kitten heart. Elmira came to HAP when she was found as a stray, but it was clear this girl has lived in a home and is socialized with people. She demands pets from her besties, but is just as fine to walk away when your about to give her some. She loves to play and talk and follow you around. She loves her naps and snacks. Elmira is fairly tolerant of being handled, held, and snuggled. She will use her big girl voice paired with a love tap to let you know if you've crossed her boundaries too far, though this is rare. She has so much life left in her, begging to find her forever home. If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. ABOUT CARNITAS Life would be oh so boring without a little spice...don't you agree? Allow us to kick up the heat with HAP's resident spicy girl herself, Carnitas! This little lady is the definition of "Queen of the castle!" She much prefers solitary life with humans, therefore would do best as the single queen pet in a home. She can regularly be found lounging in our playroom, watching the birds outside. She loves catnip toys and will roll around with one in her paws until she's ready for a snooze. Carnitas enjoys head scratches and she's not afraid to let you know when she's had enough! She likes to follow our staff around, supervising our work. She will even remind us when we haven't provided her with treats, because after all...her wish is our command! If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Story
ABOUT RUSTY This handsome man is a 4 year old tuxedo. Rusty came to us from another shelter partner, when they no longer had space to keep him. He is very outgoing and quickly became a volunteer favorite! Every morning, he greets our staff with a big meow and adorable kitty eyes. Our cattery team thinks he knows how to make them feel guilty, with one sad look, they have no choice but to sit with him for some snuggles. This affectionate boy is sure to rub against your leg or curl up in your lap. Despite being a lover, Rusty has his limits and is sure to give you a light tap or nibble to let you know he's had enough. He loves to tell you how he's feeling and what he wants. Rusty enjoys spending his days soaking up some sun and leaning into you for head scratches! **This cat has tested positive for FIV, Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. Many cats with FIV can live a long and happy lifespan if kept indoors and given routine veterinary care. FIV is not contagious to people or animals other than cats. *To help Rusty find his forever home, a generous donor has sponsored his adoption fee! If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals.
