Story
Ozzie is a 1-year-old beautiful tabby and white darling. This beautiful girl can't decide if she is primarily affectionate or curious. Ozzie wants all the love then darts out to check out something in the room and come right back for more loving. There is still so much kitten in this sweet girl! Poor darling had a some strange behaviours we discovered were related to her hormones. She managed to have a bit of ovary elsewhere in her belly that had to be found and removed. She has now had her second "spay" and is back on track. She has become even more affectionate now that she is feeling better! Ozzie only has one kidney. The one she has works great, but she is on a primarily wet food diet (not a prescription) to keep her nice and hydrated. This was discovered during her first spay and should not affect her life span, lifestyle, or health. Just like humans, cats can live a wonderful life with one kidney. No one had any indication there was an issue until her spay. The adoption fee is $125 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures.  Please note, we do NOT allow declawing of any cat or kitten that we adopt out, unless deemed medically necessary.  We will gladly provide you with alternative methods of managing cats with claws. If you are interesed in any of our animals please fill out an application on our website www.townandcountryanimalrescue.org After you have submitted an application and been approved, a Cat Team member will reach out to set up a “meet and greet” between you and the pet. The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the cat team members or the foster. If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit.** Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Animal Rescue and our mission ##2052624##

Story
Meet Persephone and Styx! This beautiful, bonded pair of 5-year-old cats has quite the story to tell. Once rescued from a high-kill shelter, these two were adopted out together as kittens, only to find their way back to us when their owner could no longer care for them. After some time with us, they’ve slowly begun to open up, finding comfort with a select group of people here. While they may never be lap cats, Persephone and Styx have shown they’re happiest observing life’s moments from a safe distance. That said, who knows what the future holds for this special duo? We believe that with time, patience, and a quiet, loving home, these two can truly thrive. If you’re the kind of person who understands the beauty of building trust at their pace, Styx and Persephone might just be the perfect pair for you. Are you ready to let them be themselves and build a one-of-a-kind connection? If so, these two are waiting to meet their special someone. The adoption fee is $125 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures. Styx is bonded to Persephone and they must be adopted together. Please note, that we do NOT allow the declawing of any cat or kitten we adopt unless deemed medically necessary.  We will gladly provide you with alternative methods of managing cats with claws. We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days. Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet. If it goes well, you can take your new best friend home on the meet and greet day! ***Please note that animals in foster homes cannot be viewed at our rescue, and appointments are still required to meet them. Story
Bellatrix is beautiful 1-year-old grey tabby with a stunning white blaze and cute pink nose. She was found outside with her young kittens. The kittens have all grown up and been adopted, now it is mom's turn! This girlie is footloose and fancy-free! She is so playful it's hard to remember she was a very responsible and caring young mom. She is having her second childhood and loves to play! Although, Bellatrix does loves to play, we believe she would do best in a home with older children that are respectful of her boundaries. We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Story
Hi, my name is Melvin—I go by Mel.  My foster mom thought it best for me to write my own “get to know me” story. I am super busy playing and sunbathing so I will try to be brief so I can get back to cat life!  I am about 11 months young—my mom likes to call me a “fancy cat” because I have flowy fur and am half Persian (whatever that is).  I have to admit, I am pretty cute and fancy.  I am a small boy and will stay small.  I weight about 7 pounds.  My fur needs brushed to stay nice and mat-free and I may need to have my, um, how do I saw this nicely, by bottom area shaved at the vet clinic just a bit to help me stay clean.  My foster mom tells me all the time how cute and sweet I am.  But she often tells me “no” when I am harassing my feline foster siblings that are girls.  You see, I want to PLAY and they DO NOT! I know it’s not polite but they are boring and crabby. There is hissing and growling on their part; I have no idea that this means NO!  I don’t seem to understand cat social cues so mom has to step in.  I do get along with my foster brother.  He is really cool (he likes all other cats—including me!) and usually doesn’t mind me jumping on his back, boxing with my little paws or chasing him.  We get along well and play together—its so much fun-- but sometimes he would rather sleep.  Oh well.  The best home for me is in a family with a playful kitten or cat ready for a play mate because i want and need to play and  I really love other cats.  Older cats or cats that want to keep to themselves is not a good fit--there would be no peace in the home with crazy playful me! Things I love the most are lounging in the sunny window sills on my window hammock, hanging out on the tall cat tree, watching the squirrels and birds eat out the window, chasing my wand toys when foster mom plays with me, and playing soccer with little pom pom balls. I love my people and am pretty much always in the same room as them but I am not a lap cat.  I love it when they pet me and give me scritches and like to sleep next to them, but not on them.  I give them space!  I have been told I am a very good boy with using my claws on the scratching posts and pad (well that is what they are for, right??)  I would probably be very bored and sad being home all day alone without a playmate or my humans.  I like older kids but young kids make me nervous. I am good when other people come over to hang out. I like to check them out! Sometimes they play with me which is cool!  If they give me my favorite lick treats, even better! The food here is amazing!  My forever home has to have good food too.  I love my soft, canned food and it keeps me healthy and fur so soft, says foster mom. I had a rough start in life and lots of changes in my young life (cue the sad music.) If you think we would get along well, get in touch with my people and we will talk! My foster family wants me to find the right fit so I am a happy and good boy.   The adoption fee is $300+ tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures.   ***Please note that animals in foster homes cannot be viewed at our rescue, and appointments are required to meet them after your application is approved. ##2253407##
