Story
Hello, I'm Versace! I'm a big, handsome guy looking for a friend who will let me hangout but realize that I am particular about how I'm touched. Although my original caretaker described me as very cuddly, I have since developed a history of getting overstimulated by touch. However, I do still like sritches behind the ears and gentle rubs to my cheeks from time to time- I just need my person to keep an eye on my body language to know when I'm hitting my threshold. While I am looking for a home without small children, I get along GREAT with other cats (and medium sized dogs), and would thrive with new furry friends. I also love to spend time in cardboard box forts or looking out a sunny window. I also live for the days when I get dried catnip and Temptations treats, they are my absolute favorites! I've been pretty stressed in the shelter environment, and I'll likely need some time and space to myself so I can relax and decompress as I adjust to a new home.

Story
Hello, I'm Bastet! I came to CMHS recently after my family fell on hard times, and they wanted to make sure I was well taken care of. In my last home I lived with older children and another cat (Serket), and would likely adjust to others in a future home. I've been pretty stressed at the shelter, so I haven't been able to show off much of my personality. I can be a little more wary of new people and places, but once I settle in, my previous family said I was a good boy. I think I would like a nice quiet place to call home, with plenty of hiding places and cat trees to climb.

Story
Gretchen and Regina are very playful and affectionate kittens! Either they'll take turns sitting on my lap to get pets, or they'll squeeze on at the same time! They love running around or playing with toys together and like to cuddle as they nap. Since they've always lived together, it'll be best for them to stay together in their new home. They have lived with other cats and done well with slow introductions. They have lived with young children, but it was noted they would play a little rough sometimes. While I haven't had problems with them scratching/biting too hard, frequent nail trims and appropriate scratching facilities are important for any cat. They're very good at letting their nails be trimmed! It was also noted that they were having litter box issues in their previous home, urinating outside of the litter box frequently. They were treated for bladder inflammation/infections and ever since I brought them home, I've had them mainly closed in our bathroom and they use the litter box every time, even with rugs/blankets in the room. It'll be important for them to start in a bathroom/ small room so that they can get used to their new environment and litter box situation before giving them full access to the rest of their new home, slowly getting them used to where they're supposed to relieve themselves. Give these sweet girls a permanent home!

Story
Hello, I'm Caraway! I'm part of the Pumpkin Spice crew. My siblings and I came from a hoarding situation where there were at least 13 cats with just one person-- so we're still catching up on our socialization to people. I'm looking for a patient and understanding home where I'll be given the proper support while I adjust to all of the new. I would appreciate a home with one of my siblings, or a cool and confident cat that can show me the ropes after I've settled in a bit. I love tube treats, every type of toy under the sun, and cozy blankets. I've been starting to allow some pets, but I am still pretty stressed in the shelter environment-- I'd love someplace quiet to decompress and finally come out of my shell. My foster says :Caraway is a very vocal girl and loves to follow you around the house to be involved in everything. She likes to sit in the bathtub and roll around on recliners. Her favorite toys are toy wands, as she loves to pounce and jump."

Story
Rhiannon may look a little grumpy but she's actually one of the sweetest cats you'll meet. She's so grateful to be off the hard life of the streets. She loves receiving pets and cuddles or following her humans around. She loves catnip, springs and wet food. She will squeak up a storm while playing with her favorite toys. Despite getting dermatitis on the streets, she's recovered well and is so soft. Rhiannon is perfect for someone looking for a shadow with a resilient and loving nature. Her playful and loving personality will bring joy and laughter to your home. She doesn't like the resident cats at her foster home but does fine with respectful dogs and would do fine with children. ______________________________________ At some point I will need a dental with your veterinarian! This animal has been treated for a skin infection while in shelter care. If this is not fully resolved at the time of adoption, it may require follow up diagnostics and treatment with adopter's veterinarian. Additionally, if underlying environmental or food allergies are contributing to the current skin condition, these may require ongoing management with adopter's veterinarian.
