Jade, was found as a stray in Hillsboro, MO in early January, 2024 - she was pregnant. The woman who surrendered Jade to CAR said she was screaming crying, trying to frantically get into her house to find shelter, poor thing. Luckily, CAR had space and was able to take in Jade so she had a nice warm space to have her babies. Jade had five kittens; Polly, Tiffany, Charlotte, Stuart and Timothy were born here at Country Acres Rescue on February 15, 2024. Jade was a WONDERFUL and caring Mama, she did such a good job taking care of her sweet kittens. Jade is affectionate, playful and oh so beautiful! Holland showed up on a woman`s front porch during this recent January, 2025 snow storm basically knocking at her door to let him in, poor thing. He was intact, super SWEET and LOVING. She wanted to keep him so badly, but already had several cats of her own who wouldn`t accept a new cat into their crew. Holland has gorgeous eyes and the cutest little white feet. Puma is about 7 years old. He needs a calm house where he will be loved by all. If he feels threatened/unloved he will mark. He cuddles on his own terms. He sleeps with his humans. He has lived with dogs peacefully. He's never lived with cats. Aside from behavioral stress marking, he's low maintenance. I hate to rehome him, but it's in his best interest. Small rehoming fee just for a commitment to him. I want him to be loved.

Marni was found outside as a stray in December, 2020. She was taken in by an elderly woman who really could not keep her, however, cared for Marni until she found a desirable rescue for surrender. Marni can be a shy girl, but she is more outgoing by the day. Having our wonderful skilled volunteers work with her daily has really enabled Marni to branch out and come out of her shell. She is a gorgeous brown tabby with striking, defined stripes. She is interested in anything with a string, and would love a home to call her own. Kacey had a litter of five babies outside in 100+ degree heat at an apartment complex. Luckily, a wonderful person found Kacey with her litter of two-day old kittens and brought them to Country Acres Rescue. Kacey was the best Mama to her littles, she was loving, attentive and protective. Kacey is still learning to trust staff and volunteers as she was outside fending for herself for over a year. She is quiet and loves watching people and birds out her window. Kacey has the sweetest, most precious face - she deserves a second chance at a good life.
