Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *This animal is a part of our “Seniors for Seniors” program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.* Looking for a truly special companion? If you have a soft spot for the ‘undercat’ and love being a caretaker, then keep reading—you might just be the perfect match for me! Hi, I’m Grizzly. I started life as a happy-go-lucky kitten in a loving home until life took an unexpected turn, leaving me a bit lost after my family separated. Through all the changes, I’ve kept my sweet spirit, and I’m on a journey to find a patient, loving person to call my own. I’m currently on a weight-loss plan and already down to 17 pounds! My mobility is improving by the day, although I still prefer low-sided litter boxes. I'm even active enough to play chase with the other cat in the home! I do have some challenges: I’m incontinent with my bowel movements, but I use the litter box for urine and go on a tarp next to the litter box nearly every time, making it easy to manage. If you’re willing to see past my quirks, you’ll find I’m an affectionate, laid-back guy who adores tummy rubs, chin scratches, and brushing sessions. I’m also a pro at nail trims! If you’ve got room in your heart for a gentle, couch-loving buddy, I’d love to be your new best friend. Grizzly is from an owner surrender. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *Bonded with Cheech*Chong is a friendly, playful fellow. He loves rubbing up against our legs and getting petted. Chong likes hanging out in whatever area we’re in. He enjoys toys and playing with his brother, Cheech, too. We feel he would do best being adopted with his brother.   They are SO cute when they snuggle together in the chair. These boys would do best by being adopted together.   They both love to gaze out the window at the world-click here to see. They love to also cuddle at my feet if it's chilly. They both love toys! They like balls, faux fish and mice, and love scratching posts. They love a good box!   Chong is from an owner surrender. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hello there! Are you on the lookout for a special feline in your life? Not afraid of a little "project"? Do you have endless amounts of patience, and are willing to let said kitty come around on her own time? I just might have the purrrrect opportunity for you! My name is Elliandra! I came from a reservation and have been pretty reserved in my foster home up until recently. It took me about 6 months to come out of my shell but I now LOVE pets and attention! I ask for them routinely and like to be by you. I haven't been a huge fan of my foster mom's resident cats but I get along well with my sister. With slow introductions I would probably do fine with other cats. I'm just a great cat who needs a super patient adopter that will allow me to shine in my own time! I promise, I'm worth it! Elliandra is from a reservation. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can   donate   to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.      Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 2, 2024, 9:03 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Loverboy is a sweet, big, gentle giant. He's got a heart full of love. He enjoys cuddling, chin scratches and belly rubs. With him, life is just sweeter. Although he hasn't met children while in foster home, we believe he'd do great with them. Looking for that snuggle partner for the couch? Loverboy is your kitty! One big thing about me you should know is that I have Feline Leukemia but please don’t let that scare you away from adopting me! Click here to learn more about Feline Leukemia. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, there!  I'm so glad you're here to learn more about Sugar!  Sugar is a delightful, mellow, quiet young lady.  While she may be a bit timid with new people and in new situations, she is sweet as can be and doesn't take long to start trusting her human companions.  She will be melting into your hand for cheek scritches in no time!  She's been an excellent mom to a whole bunch of kittens and would love to be adopted to a home with another cat that she can be friends with.  A social cat companion would help her warm up to her new human companions more quickly as  well! Sugar would do best in a home that's a bit more on the calm side.  She likes kids, but toddlers may move a bit too fast and be too unpredictable for her comfort.  She does well with dogs, too, as long as they're respectful. She's really an easygoing girl with endless amounts of love to give to her future family.  If that might be you, fill out an application so you can learn more about her! Sugar is from a owner surrender with several babies. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
