Story
MEOW! My name is Finnigan.Finn for short.I'm in a bit of a quandry. My foster mom needs to find me a home. You see, there is another male cat in this home and we don't get along well.I do like to be the head of the house.Let me share some info about me. I'm four and know what I want in life. You think I'm to young to be so wise? I've been around. My first family had me two yrs and then just packed up and moved w/o me! Talk about a shock.Anyway, within 2 days my foster mom had me at her house. It was nice to be back inside with food and water.I'm a great eater(not fussy) and love to play! I've been outside on supervised walks in the backyard. I would like a home with a scratching post, food and someone to scratch my back.Oh yeah,I give nose kisses! I also like dogs.I'm getting sleepy.Going to go hide under the comforter in my room.Hope I see you soon! MEOW!

Story
Alfie is a sweet, adorable, pretty boy with the softest belly fur. He'll flop on his back with a big stretch and wave at you for tummy rubs. He and his brother, Armondo, are inseparable and must be adopted together. Alphie is a calm fellow who likes his independence. He doesn't love being picked up and carried, but he loves pets and has developed a fondness for snuggling on the bed. He'll wiggle up on his foster mom's lap when he thinks she's not paying attention. He's very inquisitive, always wants to know where you are and what you're doing. His favorite playthings are pieces of string, feathers, little bugs, and anything that higgles under the covers. New places and faces, sudden loud noises and movements can make him feel frightened. With patience and plenty of time to feel safe, you'll see his true personality blossom. Something you should know is that both brothers have heart murmurs and were diagnosed with VSD (Ventricular septal defect) as kittens, though you wouldn't know it as they behave just like normal cats. According to the cardiologist, Alfie's VSD is a little more severe that his brother's due to it being slightly larger in size. At his recent cardiologist appointment at MSU, his body has adapted very well to his heart defect and all other test results are normal. There is no need for medication or special treatment at this time. VSD is a heart defect that doesn't go away. The boys need a special person who is willing to be thoroughly educated on VSD and be mindful of his diagnoses. They will need to be mindful of changes in his behavior and to provide regular cardiology visits to monitor any progression of his heart problem. At some point, down the road, medication may be needed. Alfie has a follow up appointment scheduled at the cardiologist for December 16th. All prior medical records will be provided when the boys are adopted. **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. All animals will be spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV or heartworm, given age-appropriate boosters and rabies, dewormed, flea treated, and anything extra that is needed to give this animal a wonderful forever life in a permanent home. Adoption fees are usually $50 for cats and between $150-$250 for dogs, unless the pet is sponsored or we are running a promotion. Please visit our website at sheltertohome.com for information on our adoption process.**November 5, 2024, 10:11 am

Story
Meet ASHLEY (Loves Other Cats) Ashley, her brother and mom were picked up by animal control initially when a woman wanted them off of her property. She said her husband was allergic and didn't want them living outside. All may appear to be a bit hand shy, but if given the time to get to know you, they are 100 percent worth the effort. They are so playful, and will even reach out their paws to gently "pet" you if they think you aren't looking. Volunteers have done a fantastic job bringing them all out of their shells. They enjoy playing with each other and people watching. They are gentle cats who enjoy quiet surroundings. This family needs someone to take a chance on them. They will be a true rescue.
