Story
Meet Winifred, a young feline with a heart full of love. Despite her shy demeanor, she's incredibly sweet and friendly. Her gentle nature is soothing, making her the perfect companion for quiet nights in. Winifred is FIV+, which means she has a weakened immune system. Winifred will need someone to keep up with her yearly vet checkups to make sure any concerns are caught early. Research shows that FIV cats may have a similar life expectancy to uninfected cats. Winifred doesn't let FIV+ slow her down, she is happy and healthy even with FIV+. She's a purr machine, her loud, clear purrs can turn any bad day around. Winifred thrives in the company of other cats, her gentle nature allowing her to get along well with others. Other cats make her feel more confident and secure. Winifred will need a home with another kitty friend. Her sisters Sarah and Mary are available if you have room in your home and heart for two. With her fluffy, soft coat, she's a joy to cuddle with. Winifred's gorgeous spirit shines through in everything she does. She should be adopted because she has so much love to give. She just needs someone to give a shy cat a chance. Her quiet, gentle nature would make her the perfect addition to any family willing to give her the love and patience she deserves. Winifred is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Story
Wynkin and Blynkin are 2 year old bonded siblings. Wynkin is the larger of the two and a boy. Blynkin is the more petite of the two and is a girl. They were found outside with their mom as kittens. Luckily a kind person found them and got them to a foster home. These two are very sweet and loving - to others and especially each other. Both of them have super soft and sleek black coats and gorgeous amber eyes. They love a good snuggle! They would do best in a home with no other cats. They tend to get dominated and become timid around other cats. They have grown up with smaller dogs and love them! They are friendly and would do well in quiet household with someone that can boost their confidence. If you are looking for two loving souls who want snuggle up and relax with you, Wynk and Blynk are a great pick! Wynkin and Blynkin are currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting them, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. Story
Petey has only known one owner in his 6 years. He found himself at the rescue when his owner passed away. Petey is adjusting to his new circumstances and will require a patient and experienced owner. Petey is a sensitive guy and sometimes hides until he feels safe and secure. This guy opens right up with a gentle touch and some one-on-one time. He really likes to be pet, especially on the head. Not a big fan of being picked up. Petey lived with two other cats - Maximus and Slim. It would be great for him to be adopted out with one of them to help him feel comfortable. His foster family thinks once he’s feeling safe and secure in a loving home setting, his adorable personality will shine. Petey's foster family says once he gets familiar with you, he is eager to call you a new friend! Petey is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting him, please send a message here or email adopt@ahsem.org Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. Story
Hola, soy Dos! Nice to meet you, I'm Dos! I came into the rescue with my sister Uno and my brother Tres after living outside. We were born around April 2023. We all love being around other cats, and we are very food motivated. I would do best with a cat friend in my forever home to help me feel more confident. I could be adopted out to a home with an existing kitty, or go as a pair with one of my foster friends! I am a little shy when you first reach for me, but then I remember how much I love to be pet. My foster mom says I melt into a big cuddle puddle when I get pet. I would like to live in a quieter home without loud noises and sudden movements because I am a easily spooked. I certainly have a lot of love to give! Dos is currently in a foster home. Story
We are looking for a very special home for a very special boy! Potato Salad is an adorable and outgoing male kitten who was born on February 6th, 2024 and is quite unique! Potato was born with a condition called Manx Syndrome which is most well known for not having tails! Because cats tails are an extension of their spine, he has a slightly shortened spine and is incontinent. This means that he cannot control when he has to potty and has to wear diapers. Because of this condition, he was also born with nerve damage to his left leg which makes him do the cupid shuffle everywhere he goes and bunny hop when he runs. Potato Salad is just a normal cat that wears a diaper. He is VERY social!! If you come visit his fosters home he will be the first to greet you and *screech* at your feet until you pick him up for cuddles or give him attention. He loves to cuddle and will follow you all day long! Potato adores other cats and will cuddle and play just like any normal cat would. He truly has the absolute best and most outgoing personality and his care is very easy. He gets twice daily butt baths and regular diaper changes as well as diaper free time in a playpen. We would love to find someone who has previous diaper baby experience. All in all if you want a unique guy with an amazingly friendly and goofy personality, Potato Salad is your guy! If you have any questions please message us here, or shoot us an email at foster@ahsem.org.
