Lilly has had great difficulty adapting to life with new children in the home and would be best suited in a home with no children or dogs with an experienced cat owner. She may be able to cohabitate with another easygoing cat. She is independent but enjoys laying with her person and getting scratches. She will need patience as she adapts to her new home

Sam is a cool cat who found himself lost on the streets in Broussard back in February. Thankfully we spotted him and were able to take him in. We have been searching for his family since then, but sadly we haven't found his family, if he had one. We suspect he possibly caught a ride in a car and found himself in an unfamiliar area. Sam, who we guess is about 1 yrs old, is a huge love bug and loves people. He will cuddle with you before wanting to play, eat, sleep, then rinse and repeat. He's active, silly, playful and can be very vocal. He likes to have conversations with us, letting us know he was so bored and is happy we've returned to play. His current situation has him in a room by himself during the day with lots of interaction with people at night. He has struggled to get along with the other cats in the house, but we don't think this means he cannot get along with cats in general. He just needs the right space and time, and unfortunately we cannot offer him that.

Story
Meet Ken Takapurra, a local stray who showed up at my doorstep in need of major help! Back in January, Ken showed up for dinner one evening with a limp and severely swollen paw. I let him inside to assess and could immediately tell he was not doing well. He was rushed over to Lafayette Veterinary Care Clinic (LVCC) where we found him to have a high fever, over 104°F, and an infection in his paw. After an overnight stay, some meds and TLC, Ken recovered from his fever and was able to come home with me. Now he is completely healthy and ready to find a new home! Ken is a sweet young boy, about 1.5 years old. He loves chin scritches, playing with toys and lazing about on a cat tower. He has a calm, laid back demeanor and is easy to handle. He loves cuddles and has the sweetest purr. It's really hard to resist him charm! Ken is currently in a home with many cats and he gets along well them, but its time for him to find his own family so he can get all the love and attention he deserves!
