Story
Oh. Hi. I’m Willow. You know, like the elegant woodland sprite. The dainty queen. The conversationalist. The woman, the myth, the meow.Let’s begin with my credentials, because I am a professional. I’m female, spayed, fully up-to-date on my vaccines, and I’ve tested negative for Feline Leukemia Virus and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. In short: I am medically cleared for a long, healthy reign over your living room.I was born outside in West Union, Ohio. A stray. A scrappy little woodland nymph with big eyes and bigger opinions. I’ve seen things. Leaves blowing dramatically. Squirrels behaving suspiciously. The audacity of weather. But despite my humble outdoor beginnings, I have always known — always — that I was meant for indoor luxury. Plush blankets. Climate control. A devoted audience for my commentary.Did I mention I like to talk? Not just random yelling. This is curated conversation. If you are my favorite person (a title you must earn, but I believe in you), I will chirp, trill, and politely meow to update you on:The status of the food bowl.My thoughts on the lighting in this room.Your recent life decisions.Whether you have adequately admired me today.I am good with other cats. I coexist. I mingle. I allow them to share my kingdom. I’m not here for drama — I’m here for vibes. Now, let’s address my very specific and adorable quirk.I enjoy being gently grabbed around the middle. Yes. A soft little scoop around my waist. A secure hug. It makes me feel cozy and contained, like a fashionable baguette.However.We do not lift the Willow.I repeat: admire the Willow, embrace the Willow, but do not hoist the Willow skyward like a sack of flour. I have standards. We are sophisticated here. What I truly deserve is a loving indoor home — a safe place where I can retire from my outdoor survival era and step fully into my “cherished house cat with opinions” phase. I want a person (or family!) who will listen when I speak, respect my no-pickup policy, and understand that gentle midsection squeezes are a love language. In return, I offer:Intelligent conversationPolite but firm supervision of your daily activitiesGraceful companionshipCat-to-cat diplomacyOccasional dramatic stares from across the roomIf you’re looking for a chatty, charming, slightly particular lady with outdoor grit and indoor dreams, I’m your girl.Come meet me. I’ll be the one telling the volunteers exactly how my day is going — and gently leaning into your arms like, “Yes. This will do.”If you would be interested in giving me a furever home, please contact The Humane Society of Adams County, Inc. at (937) 544-8585 to set up a time to come meet me and fill out an adoption application!

Story
Hi. I’m Bruno. Yes, that Bruno. The large, in-charge-looking gentleman with the teddy bear face and the “please love me” eyes.Let’s get a few formalities out of the way: I’m male, neutered, up-to-date on all my vaccines (you’re welcome), and I’ve tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. In other words, I’m medically prepared for a long, healthy career as your professional couch companion. Now, about my past. I used to be a tomcat living the rugged outdoor life in West Union, Ohio. I know — it sounds like I should be starring in an action movie called Fast & Furious: Feline Drift. I was the biggest cat in the neighborhood. Massive. Imposing. A real feline linebacker. And what did I do with all that size and power?Absolutely nothing. The other cats would puff up, hiss, and bop me on the head, and I’d just stand there like, “Oh! So sorry! Was my face in the way of your paw?” I’m basically a 16-pound marshmallow. A gentle giant. A bouncer who apologizes while holding the door open.Truth is, I never wanted to be a tough street tom. I wanted to be a lap ornament. A blanket bump. A full-time lovebug. My greatest passion in life? Rolling onto my back dramatically and presenting my belly like a fluffy offering to the universe. You may pet it. Yes, really. I insist. I will stretch out like a furry croissant and gaze at you with complete devotion while you rub my tummy. I have no street cred left to protect.I’m also good with other cats. I mean… I let them win fights they didn’t even start. I’m basically the Switzerland of cats. Peaceful. Neutral. Large. What I truly deserve now is an indoor home — a soft, safe place where I can retire from my brief and deeply unsuccessful boxing career. I want a person (or a whole family!) to love me, scratch my cheeks, tell me I’m handsome, and maybe occasionally remind me that I’m, in fact, bigger than the kitten who just stole my toy.In return, I will provide:Premium belly accessWorld-class purringHead boops on demandLoyal, slightly dopey devotionZero dramaIf you’re looking for a big, squishy sweetheart who looks like he could run the streets but would rather run directly into your arms, I’m your guy.I’ve done my time outside. I’ve paid my dues. I’ve let Chad from three houses down swat me for no reason. Now I’m ready for the indoor life.Come meet me. I’ll be the large, handsome fellow rolling onto his back like, “Oh good, you’re here. Please commence belly rubs.”If you would be interested in giving me a furever home, please contact The Humane Society of Adams County, Inc. at (937) 544-8585 to set up a time to come meet me and fill out an adoption application!

Story
Meet Lake, the life of the party and our favorite "chunky" socialite! 🐾✨Lake is a gorgeous female Tabby with a personality as big as her heart. This girl truly never met a stranger; she absolutely adores humans and is always the first to greet you with a chirp and a nudge. If you’re looking to get on her good side, there is one magic trick: the chin scratch. Lake will do almost anything for a good "chinny-chin-chin" rub! Just a heads-up for her future fans—she’s a strictly "front-end" kind of gal. While she craves those face scratches, she’s not a fan of the "butt scritches," so we keep the love focused right on that beautiful face. The Details on Lake:Social Butterfly: She gets along famously with other cats and even dogs! 🐶🐱Family Ready: Lake would do wonderful in a home with children who understand and respect animal boundaries. The "Tortitude" (Tabby Edition): Lake is declawed, which can sometimes make her a little moody or sensitive when she feels overstimulated. However, beneath that occasional sass is a deeply sweet lady who just wants to be part of the action.A+ Student: She is fully housebroken and litter box trained. Indoor cat only! Lake is looking for a forever home where she can be the center of attention (and the recipient of endless chin rubs). If you have a spot on your couch for this charming, curvy girl, she’s ready to bring the party to you!If you would be interested in giving me a furever home, please contact The Humane Society of Adams County, Inc. at (937) 544-8585 to set up a time to come meet me and fill out an adoption application!
