Story
Pebbles is a beautiful fawn/tan/white/brown tabby with the stereotypical cat personality. He's snarky, has a bit of a mean streak, and is completely food motivated. Unfortunately, as one of our cats has become sicker, Pebbles has been tormenting her. Although he otherwise gets along with our other cats, we cannot have the two in the same room for more than a minute. Besides this, once warmed up, Pebbles can be a total sweetheart and usually asks for pettin' and sleeps on top of me every night. Due to his behavior with our kitty, we're thinking he should be an only child now. So are you ready?! For a derpy, moody, funny boy who will probably take a while to warm up to you? Then look no further, because your Prince Charming is here!

Story
Hello! I have this sweet girl here! She is almost 4 years old in human years. I recently had a baby and I have my hands full! There’s a few things that need to be known. I don’t want money for her. She hasn’t been to the vet and between my pregnancy and new born her fur has gotten a little matte. So she probably should be seen by a vet and groomer.

This cat can be fearful and may need extra time to adjust to a new home. We've seen good progress here at the ARL, but don't be surprised if it takes several weeks for this cat to become comfortable in a new place. This cat may hide and just observe at first - maybe for quite a while - and that is perfectly normal. Young children are too much for this cat right now, so we are highly recommending a quiet, mature home. We are happy to provide post-adoption resources. If you can give this cat extra time, patience and TLC, please consider adopting! It will be so rewarding to watch them gain confidence and start enjoying all the good things in life! All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age) Primary Color: Brown Tabby Weight: 6.5 Age: 2yrs 0mths 3wks

To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org or Carol at cgriglione@arl-iowa.org.---Jelly Donut and Mama are Bonded Buddies. They'll be adopted as a pair.- Very sweet cat that loves to cuddle, sit in your lap, and be picked up- He loves to sleep near you and curls up right in the bend in your legs, sleeps there all night- Very interested in cat treats- Likes tummy rubs, playing with his catnip toys, and sitting on the high spot on the cat tower- Is a very vocal cat and has the sweetest chirps and meows - He is very bonded to his buddy, and both of them love each other very much and love to snuggle together - they will often sit next to each other and groom each other, which is very cute- Not a fan of loud noises, so he's looking for a calm, quiet home- Young children are not a good fit for him, so he and his buddy are looking for a more mature home - Has done well with dogs and other cats- He and his buddy are lovely cats who will make a wonderful addition to a calm, loving homeThis cat can be fearful and may need extra time to adjust to a new home. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org or Carol at cgriglione@arl-iowa.org.---- A very vocal gentleman who has something to say about everything, and he has the ability to say it with the same drama that the human Pavarotti incorporated into his singing - He likes to hang out with his people especially if they will play with him - he loves to make up games and is good at showing his people how to play the games he creates- Loves toys that he can bat and chase, and dangle toys (wands), and is very good at inventing games with the dangle toys and is very entertaining to watch - if you love playing with your cat, he's your guy!- Gets the zooomies and speeds through his foster home when he has bursts of energy - he is just too adorable!- He is a good communicator and will tell you when he is hungry, lonely, bored, playful, and sometimes talks just because- He can be uncomfortable with strangers and changes in his environment, including new toys. He may hide when strangers (to him) visit or approach with caution when introduced to a new toy. Be patient and give him time to figure it out.- He likes to sharpen his claws on a vertical scratching post and prefers it over the cardboard horizontal scratchers, however, it would be good to provide both since he likes to lie on the cardboard scratcher- Isn't a fan of being picked up; he is okay for a short time and then will struggle to get down- Needs to be the only cat in his new home- Has been diagnosed with chronic weepy eye (more info at ARL)This cat has shown signs of overstimulation while in the shelter. Lots of handling, playing with hands, and excessive petting can cause them to overstimulate, which can result in scratching and/or biting. This cat is looking for experienced cat owners who will watch this cat's body language while interacting to note signs of overstimulation (tail waving, fur rippling, dilated pupils, ears turned back and quick body movements) and be willing to respect their boundaries. This cat will also benefit from interactive toys such as wands and ball spinners while playing. We are happy to speak with you more when you visit and can provide post-adoption resources. If you can give this cat mental stimulation, patience and space when they need it, please consider adopting! They would love to be your sidekick and buddy for life! All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age) Primary Color: Silver Tabby Weight: 10.7 Age: 1yrs 5mths 2wks
