Story
This handsome fellow is in need of a new home. My wife and I have moved into an independent/assisted living facility. My wife has moderate stage Alzheimer's disease and is in memory care and unable to care for him. I'm in a one bedroom independent living apartment with our dog and there really isn't room. Tully is a rescue that we got at the Minneapolis Animal Shelter in 2016. In his time with us he's lived with three other cats and several different dogs. He got along well with everyone. He's playful and a snuggler. He used to sleep on the bed with my wife. He is also a pretty good alarm clock, he would jump up on the bed early in the morning to let me know it was time to feed everyone. Really want to find him a forever home and not bring him to the animal shelter. He is up to date on all shots and has had regular checkups. He's always been healthy and isn't on any meds.

Story
My name is Milo and I am a white & brown tabby domestic shorthair. I am a neutered male and I am 1 year and 6 months old. I am here because I was given up by my owner on 02/11/2025 due to the fact I have issues with other animals. They were my family for 3-6 months. I am used to staying both inside during the day, and inside during the night. I am a good kitty who uses the litterbox! I am a medium energy cat and I can live with an owner with no prior pet owning experience. I dash out open doors or windows if given the opportunity. I would do best in a setting with two doors between exterior doors, such as a screened in porch or hallway, or to be shut in another room or in a kennel before any doors or windows are opened. I can be good with men, women, and children. I cannot live with other cats and I cannot live with dogs. All cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, and cats over 6 months of age are tested for heartworms. They are also tested for intestinal parasites and receive routine dewormings. Cats are vaccinated against distemper and rabies, receive a flea preventative, are spayed/neutered before adoption, and have a microchip. Adoption fees include the initial automated registration of the microchip at the time of adoption.

My name is Boogie and I am a brown tabby domestic shorthair. I am a neutered male and I am 3 years old. I am here because I was given up by my owner on 01/23/2025 due to the fact I wasn`t getting along with the other cats in the home. They were my family for 2 years. I am used to staying inside during the day and inside during the night. I am a good kitty who uses the litterbox! I am a high energy cat and I can live with an owner with no prior pet owning experience. I do not have a history of trying to escape the home, but the shelter staff always recommends owners be mindful that I do not accidentally sneak out on their way out the door. I can be good with men and women, and do not have experience with children. I cannot live with other cats, and I would prefer a home without dogs. All cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, and cats over 6 months of age are tested for heartworms. They are also tested for intestinal parasites and receive routine dewormings. Story
The Ames Animal Shelter`s WORKING CATS PROGRAM offers an environmentally-safe alternative to poisonous pest controls. Our working cats, who aren`t suited for indoor living due to their feral or semi-feral behavior, would love to spend their lives helping to control your warehouse, ranch, mill or barn`s rodent and pest population. All they ask for in return is shelter, food, water and care.Best of all, when you give our working cats a job, you`re saving the lives of homeless pets who otherwise would not have been suitable for adoption. There is no adoption fee for working cats, who are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and have tested negative for Feline Leukemia Virus and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. If you are interested in this particular cat, please call the Ames Animal Shelter at 515-239-5530.
